Lord of The Curry Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 Cheers brah. They're showing K1 Tourney's all day long on The Fight Network and I'm liking what I see.
AboveAverage484 Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 Here's another for you guys: Sefo vs. Hunt from Fukuoka 2001. Probably my 2nd or 3rd favorite K-1 fight ever. http://files.filefront.com/DivX___FIGHT_Ra...;/fileinfo.html
Masked Man of Mystery Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 I fell behind in this thread a long time ago, so I don't know if this has been mentioned, but apparently Don Frye is in the last Godzilla movie
Your Paragon of Virtue Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 Has anyone seen a recent pic of Don? He looks...a little overweight.
Masked Man of Mystery Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 Has anyone seen a recent pic of Don? He looks...a little overweight. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There's a pic of him in the site I linked to
Your Paragon of Virtue Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 When I say recent I mean like a month ago or something.
RavishingRickRudo Posted November 10, 2005 Author Report Posted November 10, 2005 http://www.ufc.tv/index.cfm?fa=MultiMedia.Detail&gid=1855 Real Quick with Mike Swick is the hottest thing going to-day! "Is she the lady who turns the letters?" G O L D
Lord of The Curry Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 Swick and Sleazy D need their own sitcom on the WB with Mo'nique as the sassy neighbor across the hall who secretly holds a candle for Swick.
RavishingRickRudo Posted November 11, 2005 Author Report Posted November 11, 2005 Dirty Dana should be, like, Swicks uncle who lives in the penthouse of the apartment and who gets Swick to run "errands" for him.
RavishingRickRudo Posted November 11, 2005 Author Report Posted November 11, 2005 http://www.ufc.tv/index.cfm?fa=MultiMedia.Detail&gid=1857 Forrest Griffin interview. The guy clearly wants to be somewhere else, yet he still manages to deliver a good interview. Man that guy can talk. The more you listen, the more his southern accent comes out.
AboveAverage484 Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 Sherdog.com is reporting that Ortiz will be fighting Matt Lindland on an upcoming WFA show. Yomiuri.com is reporting that Yoshida will be fighting Ogawa on NYE. Only the results of these matches would interest me, other than that, whatever.
RavishingRickRudo Posted November 12, 2005 Author Report Posted November 12, 2005 "The UFC plans to run twelve live fight specials on Spike TV during 2006. If two of those twelve specials are live Ultimate Fighter season finales and the other ten are simply live fight shows that have no connection to TUF, it would seem likely that the TUF season finales will be the two most-watched UFC TV shows of 2006." I got this off UG, but it wasn't sourced.
Lord of The Curry Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 The Fight Network is the greatest thing ever. I can wake up, make coffee and see Fujita pounding the shit out of Takayama.
Guest Brian Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 The Fight Network is the greatest thing ever. I can wake up, make coffee and see Fujita pounding the shit out of Takayama. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You and Rudo never send me stuff.
Lord of The Curry Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 What kinda stuff are we talking about here?
Guest Brian Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 Fight Network. Rudo said he was going to tape some and send me.
RavishingRickRudo Posted November 12, 2005 Author Report Posted November 12, 2005 Which I SO am going to do. You just have to realize that I don't work with and within the same conventions of time that everyone else does.
Guest Brian Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 Which I SO am going to do. You just have to realize that I don't work with and within the same conventions of time that everyone else does. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Have the Memphis shows been good, and what have they been like?
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 PRIDE have announced Naoya Ogawa vs Hidehiko Yoshida for their New Year's Eve super-show.
RavishingRickRudo Posted November 15, 2005 Author Report Posted November 15, 2005 I am expecting a dance-off where both men rip off their gis and proceed to HUSTLE.
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 It would be more entertaining than any fight they could have.
AboveAverage484 Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 Two more fights confirmed: Kondo vs. Nakamura (cool), Takimoto vs. Kikuta (yawn)
Your Paragon of Virtue Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 Ogawa was armbarred by Fedor in like a couple of minutes, and I think that speaks more for Ogawa's shittiness than Fedor's awesomeness. Yoshida was dominated of Royce of all people, so this "Grappling extravaganza!" seems to be more of a smoke and mirrors act than anything else.
Lord of The Curry Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 I'm not gonna scream "WORK!" like a lot are doing regarding Ogawa/Yoshida. I will quietly whisper it instead.
RavishingRickRudo Posted November 15, 2005 Author Report Posted November 15, 2005 As long as they make for some sweetass throws, I'll be happy. Kondo vs. The Nak? That's a lil bit of not bad.
Guest CurryMan Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 Since I really don´t care for anyone of Yoshida and Ogawa I almost hope it is a work, perhaps the fight can be decent if it is worked.
Matt Young Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 So Rudo, I rented the UFC 51 DVD. My Hollywood Video had only that and 52 in stock, but 52 was rented out. I'm giving MMA another chance. I doubt I'll like it better than wrestling, but I'm hoping that some of the quality of the sport which you bash everyone over the head with in the WWE folder is present. Maybe I'll enjoy it and end up posting in thisforum more often. But if not, I won't follow your example and come into this folder to talk about how much better wrestling is than MMA.

Matt Young Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 You must havemissed last night's Raw. But seriously, I don't want to start an argument here like what Rudo did in the WWE forum. I had always had a slight interest in MMA (and a stronger interest in martial arts in general) but the few MMA shows I have seen, including one in person, did not entertain me. I'm hoping I do like the one I rented. Without giving spoilers, is it any good? As was stated, I didn't have much to choose from, andI was tempted to get 52 for Couture/Liddell, but I decided to go in order.
