Lord of The Curry Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 Montreal '08 Update!@!~ - MMA Agent Ken Pavia confirmed on his MMAJunkie.com column that he's got Jonathon Goulet a fight on an upcoming UFC show which pretty much guarantees his participation in the Montreal card. - Joslin is touch and go, injury-wise. Let's hope he makes it. - Sherk said in a recent interview that UFC has told him to be ready for April so we might just get BJ/Sherk on top of GSP/Serra - Rumors are putting Rich Franklin vs Travis Lutter on this card - Diego did an interview recently where he stated his intentions to remain at 170 and also mentioned April as a possible comeback date.
Lord of The Curry Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 MMAJunkie has SHOGUN returning at this show. AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW SHIT SON.
Mik Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 What is Canada's drug testing policy like?
Lt. Al Giardello Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 I hope to god BJ Penn wins the LW belt and fights Sherk at the MTL card. Seeing BJ fuck up Sherk in person would be more satisfying then GSP fucking up Serra. Just because of my hatred for Sherk.
Your Paragon of Virtue Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 What is Canada's drug testing policy like? I'm high right now.
RavishingRickRudo Posted January 10, 2008 Author Report Posted January 10, 2008 Fuck. I can't get my hopes up this early. I don't even think this event is happening until they officially say and even then I don't know how sure I'll be. But... WU TANG SHOGUN, KILLA TO THE EAR DRUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SHERK?!! TITLE?! ACE?!?!?! LOAD?!?!? BLOWN?!??!?!
Lt. Al Giardello Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 Now there are rumors saying Alves Vs. Karo for the MTL card. *creams his pants*
RavishingRickRudo Posted January 10, 2008 Author Report Posted January 10, 2008 Why don't you just say Jesus will come back at that show with thousands of hot college girls giving out blow jobs and eternal happiness for all those in attendance? Huh, why don't you just say that? Cause you almost just fucking did.

RavishingRickRudo Posted January 10, 2008 Author Report Posted January 10, 2008 Wrong, dickhead, trick question, Fedor IS Jesus.
Lord of The Curry Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 Fuck. I can't concentrate at work after reading about Karo/Alves. That's too much.
Lt. Al Giardello Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 Wrong, dickhead, trick question, Fedor IS Jesus. Nope... Jesus is Fedor's SON! You Failed!
Lt. Al Giardello Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 And the matchmaking KEEPS coming, but this time for UFC 83 in England. Houston Alexander apparently accepted a fight with James Irvin. Great match making, should be fireworks.
starvenger Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 Noone's mentioned Fitch getting Gono in Columbus?
Lt. Al Giardello Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 Noone's mentioned Fitch getting Gono in Columbus? Bad matchmaking... Gono is nothing more then a gate keeper fighter, and Fitch is an elite WW. Fitch needs to get matched up with better fighters. Diego was a good fight, he needs to keep fighting elite level WW's. It's too bad Fitch is teammates with Kos and Swick.
Mik Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 Doesn't really matter. Word is that with GSP and Fitch victories then that's your next title match. Speaking of... Not sure how close/far you Canadians live from Toronto, but you can watch the PPV next Saturday with Fitch... http://mmamania.com/2008/01/10/jon-fitch-t...toronto-canada/

Lord of The Curry Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 Not after he straight-up admitted that he's ducking Fitch.
Lt. Al Giardello Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 Not after he straight-up admitted that he's ducking Fitch. Yeah that is a bad look for him... I still would like to see Fitch/Hughes... I think Hughes has the right style to beat him. Fitch's takedown defense is ass.
Lt. Al Giardello Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 I'm hearing rumors of Thiago Silva Vs. Rashad Evans in May... Interesting fight indeed, whoever wins moves up in rankings and could be in line for a title shot.
Lord of The Curry Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 If Silva can stop the takedown then he should light Rashad up standing. Having said that I've learned that betting against Rashad somehow leads to victory (or draws) so I won't be surprised to see him pull it out though he'll be dealing with a reach advantage against a damn solid striker.
Your Paragon of Virtue Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 I don't know if it was asked in here or what, but Ivan Menjivar has a shitty knee that he's getting surgery on, so if he has signed that contract he won't be using it for a long time.

Rashad has been fighting people with bigger reach then him his whole career. Plus he's got good technique and fast hands. He sometimes just tends to not let his hands go like in the Tito fight. I'll take Rashad by UD.

Yeah, that was me. Thanks for following up.
The Niggardly King Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 Christ, Rashad vs Silva is the one fight I don't wanna pick.
RavishingRickRudo Posted January 12, 2008 Author Report Posted January 12, 2008 When in doubt, pick the wrestler if he doesn't have horrible submission defense.
Mik Posted January 12, 2008 Report Posted January 12, 2008 “Fighting GSP is all I think about every day. A rematch would be very good and I’ll make sure that I will 100 per cent guarantee victory if we fight again…. I’d love to fight Matt Hughes again but I think he could walk away after his loss to St Pierre. If he does walk away from the sport, I wouldn’t be surprised after what happened the other night. Before his fight with Georges, I was really hoping I’d get another shot at Matt Hughes but after that fight, that was so embarrassing for him I don’t know how he’s going to rebound from that. I’d love to fight him again. If we can put the fight together somehow I’d love it but he’s also getting older so I don’t know what’s going to happen.” Guess who said this. Maybe not who you would immediately think. B.J. Penn!!
Your Paragon of Virtue Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 That was pretty much the only name on my mind. If it was someone else I would have been surprised.
Mik Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 You're right. If you just skim it without really reading it you might think it's Matt Serra but if you read it it's obvious it's BJ. I just got excited for the prospect of that rematch. Speaking of BJ - Shrek is doing color commentary for the main event on Saturday. Should be interesting.
Lord of The Curry Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 Looks like it's gonna be The Athlete vs El Dirte in Montreal.
