Jer Posted June 23, 2008 Report Posted June 23, 2008 Metal Gear Solid 4 (PS3, 2008) When this thing started, I wanted to pick a Metal Gear Solid game, but didn't know which one to take. MGS1 had the best story, but the gameplay is totally outdated. MGS2 and MGS3 bring the gameplay, but the story's a little off. MGS4 solved this dilemma. It's got a story damn near on par with the original (except for a little silliness at the end, it'd probably be my favorite story of the series). And the gameplay's the best it's ever been, with the most expansive and active environments and a ridiculous gun customization system. I've only had it for a week and a half, but it's already my favorite game of the series.
alfdogg Posted June 23, 2008 Report Posted June 23, 2008 Time to pick a fighter. Super Double Dragon (SNES, 1992)
Youth N Asia Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 Dr Mario, NES It's my favorite puzzle game of all time
The Man in Blak Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 Oops, nevermind, my computer clock settings were off and I thought my pick was up.
luke-o Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 Why in sam hell would you pick Wii Sports? It looses it's appeal after a few hours. Well the bowling doesn't, that's badass.
Black Lushus Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 bowling is pretty tits...that'd make a good late late round pick for me.
Youth N Asia Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 The bowling is awesome. The Baseball effing sucks
Gert T Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 With my 5th Round pick, I select: Mike Tyson's Punchout/NES
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 Kingdom Hearts, 2002 A fun addictive game that I could keep playing if I wanted to. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, 2002 Another favorite Zelda title of mine.
CanadianChris Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 Damn, I was totally going to pick Metroid last round and forgot about it.
Gert T Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 With my next pick, I select: Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem/GameCube
BUTT Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 DAMMIT I was JUST thinking that would be my next pick! I'm angrily shaking my fist as I write this.
The Ghost of bps21 Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 I was going to pick that...and then I forgot about it when my pick came up. Fuck.
Jer Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 Noooo I wanted Punchout. I thought it might last a round or two longer. Doh.
alfdogg Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 Dr. Mario totally slipped my mind. I wasn't going to pick it this round, but it would definitely have been in consideration when I did pick a puzzle game.
Dr. Zoidberg Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 Secret of Mana (SNES) You son of a bitch....
Youth N Asia Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 Skies of Arcadia, Sega Dreamcast a personal RPG favorite and the best RPG for the system. Great fighting, cool story, and amazing exploration
Jer Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 Might as well finish off my run of new stuff... Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection (PS3, 2007) The best game in the best fighting series. It took Tekken 5, which was already awesome, and added balance. And now, thanks to the power of the internet, you can play against lag-abusing ten-string scrubs all over the world!!!
Gert T Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 Hard to go wrong with DK Country, just a really fun game. Truthfully, and I am ashamed to admit this, I have only played about 45 minutes of Eternal Darkness, but I loved it. Maybe I need to go out and buy a used Game Cube!
The Man in Blak Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 I think the overall quality of the game is debatable, but I'll always have a place in my heart for Donkey Kong Country, thanks to its involvement in Blockbuster's video game competition waaaay back (mid-90's). I got a free year of rentals for snagging the top score at my hometown Blockbuster.
Black Lushus Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 they made progress with DKC2 and seemed to regress a bit with DKC3, oddly.
The Ghost of bps21 Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 Bioshock The best game I've played in a while. Whle GTA and other games may have more meat to offer...this game just does everything perfectly.
Cran Da Maniac Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 Marvel Ultimate Alliance (XBOX360) Need a good action game and with my love of comics, this is a good choice.
