MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted June 19, 2008 I'm thinking about going to a Yankees game but I'm on a budget. How is the view from the bleachers? Stubhub has tickets from $6. Those are the exact seats I had, and they weren't bad other than the fact that they're bleachers and with no back it got kinda uncomfortable after a while. Oh, and they're also no alcohol, at least the section I was in. Be sure to take the subway, the bleacher gate is right there as you get out of the subway. Oh, and you can't see Monument Park if you havea bleacher ticket, well you can see it but you cant actually go into it to see it up close. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

LuckyLopez 0 Report post Posted June 19, 2008 Yeah, bleachers are no alcohol and they're closed off from the rest of the stadium. You're going to see the game on a bench, that's it (you can get food and soda). No taking in the stadium or getting drunk. And you deal with bleacher fans, many of whom show up drunk and sneak booze in and who like to give people crap (especially wearing opposing colors). The view is fine though. You'll miss a little of what's directly in front of you but just plays on the warning track. And you get as good a view of home plate and the infield as you'd expect to get from that angle and distance. Unlike upperdecks you don't have the height to look down on the field, you're looking more or less straight out at home player from 400+ feet away. If the goal is to visit Yankee Stadium for the first time and take it in, bleachers seats are good only to say you watched a game and see the field and inside of the stadium. If you actually want to see Monument Park and walk around the stadium a bit and really take it in then its probably best to spring for an upperdeck seat at least. The worst seats in the house will only cost you $20-30 on stubhub and there's a good chance that you could purchase them for less at the game. A Wednesday Blue Jay, Ranger, or whatever game will cost you $5 in the upperdecks behind home plate if you time it right (but obviously if you're not a NYer and are just visiting you don't want to risk that). They'll give you the freedom to go wherever you want in the Stadium and a comfortable enough view of the game. Bleachers tend to be for the regular visitor who just wants to go to the game for cheap. I'm pretty sure you can take a tour of Monument Park before the game separate of the Bleachers if you'd like. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I also forgot to add that former Jays pitcher Dave Bush is pitching a no-hitter into the 7th against his former team. Keep in mind his ERA is close to 6 on the season. Cartman 0 Report post Posted June 19, 2008 I got my first(and last) Yankee Stadium experience yesterday. Sat behind 3rd base, pretty nice place to see a game. One glaring difference from my frequent Fenway experiences was the little music and jumbotron videos to get people to chyeer and make noise. I know it's common but it's just never done, nor needed, at Fenway. The food and drink prices are ridiculous as well...I mean 5.75 for a bag of crackerjacks?! And Reed Johnson probably wouldn't have gotten you any more than an extra bullpen arm. Every hitter on this team sucks this year. It would help them to not bring in guys like David Eckstein and Shannon Stewart and Marco Scutaro. I am not a fan of the Cardinals, but it was the closest to where I lived and tickets were free. I plan to attend games at Dodger Stadium and US Cellular Field this summer.
