haws bah gawd 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2008 With Beverly Hills Chihuahua still being at #2, it's really a testament to the staying power of some of these horrible-looking family films. I honestly expected this to bomb out of theaters in less than a weekend, but it's really hanging in there. All this despite it being #78 on IMDB's Bottom 100 list. Impressive, indeed. I expected Max Payne to tank this weekend, but I was VERY wrong about that one.

2GOLD 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2008 I was going to complete ignore the voice of Mila and it having absolutely nothing to do with the video game and get a ticket. Then it was PG-13 and that just completely confirmed it to Netflix future.
King Kamala 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2008 W was pretty good. I'd say it was about two-thirds of a really good movie then it just sort of trailed off. But really how the hell else are you going to end a biopic based on someone who's still alive?

DarKnight 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2008 Max Payne being PG-13 is laughable. Its very obvious judging from the previews that the movie is meant to be rated R, but of course, since its based off a video game, Hollywood had to have it be PG-13. I think September and October have to be the worst months for movies, since there is usually nothing good out every year during those months. This weekend's box office report pretty much confirms it. King Kamala 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2008 I disagree. September is generally really shitty but October sees the first few Oscar contenders come out. For my money, January and February is probably the worst two month period for movies. Sure The Oscar contenders are still typically hanging out in theaters but the vast majority of other stuff is crap.
AntiLeaf33 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2008 Speaking of Max Payne, what the hell is with all the angles I'm seeing in the trailers? I really only played through Max Payne 2, but I don't recall there being any of that shit in the games.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2008 The first Max Payne delt with devil worship and whatnot. I think the storyline alone would be enough to make out of a movie, but they decided to go another route, whatever
