naiwf 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2008 Thank you Steelers. If the Giants can win on Sunday they should be in the driver's seat regarding the division title.
Skywarp! 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2008 ^It'll be a fight to the end. It looks like the 'Skins saved a lot of cupcakes for the end of the year, while the Giants used them all up early and face a tough road to the end. The Giants must keep winning 'cause the 'Skins will continue to breathe down their necks.
naiwf 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2008 That's true, but a win over the Eagles hands them their 4th loss, keeps the Giants at least 2 up on the 'Skins in the loss column and gives us no worse than a 3-3 division record with no worse than a split with all three division rivals. If they win on Sunday and take any of their remaining division games we'd have pretty much all of the tiebreaks unless Washington won out.
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2008 Currently I don't see anyone else in the NFC East keeping up with the Giants unless the Giants just go and lose some unexpected games. I mean it isn't unfathomable to see them lose to Philly or Washington on the road, but it isn't very likely because they matchup well. I think the fact of the matter is the Cowboys/Redskins/Eagles all might be a little overrated. They are all good teams, but none seem to be the complete team the Giants are right now. The Cowboys probably have as much if not more talent then the Giants, but they definately aren't a better team, not even close. Of course we are only midway through the season, so things could change. The problem is the Giants would have to slip up combined with one of the other three teams getting so hot that they just blow through the rest of the season without more than one loss. The Redskins bye week comes at a perfect time though, and when they comeback in two weeks to host Dallas, Shawn Springs & Jason Taylor will be back and 100% which is good because having Springs & Rogers lining up at cornerback simultaneously changes the way the Redskins can use their linebackers on blitz packages. Also it will be nice to finally see what a healthy Jason Taylor can do for the D-line. Add to that all the other guys that are banged up and bruised from playing fourteen straight games without a break (5 preseason games, 9 regular season games).
