CanadianGuitarist Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=393247 Please come back and be a Shark. Sean Avery should meet the original instigator. My brother has the same name as the guy who signed Claude, and "Prince Rabbits" is one of the best team nicknames I've ever heard. If the playoffs started today, it'd be Pittsburgh and Montreal. In theory, that'd be an awesome series.
Red Baron Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 *Bangs head on table* You gotta be fucking kidding me. Chiu blames Casey. Since we can't take that to the bank (for now) - awful PP, and the poor performance of Kovalev, the Kostitsyns, and Plekanec: Sooner or later, they have to turn it around. I miss Marc Streit. Fuck Gainey for not signing him back and keeping Boullion.
Prophet of Mike Zagurski Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 According to the latest Claude Lemieux news, he's in the AHL now. If he makes back to the NHL, I think I need to get his jersey.
Matt Young Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 The Kings/Flames game isn't on tonight because FSN West is showing the Lakers game against the Nets. I watch a lot of Lakers games, but seriously... the Nets? I'd rather see Michael Cammalerri's first game against his former team. And on top of that, FSN Prime Ticket isn't showing a Ducks game, so they could very well air the Kings game. There is a Clippers game on, but it ends around an hour and a half before the Kings play.
Prophet of Mike Zagurski Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 I don't understand why the Kings don't have a local television contract. The Ducks, Dodger, Angels, and every other major team has a contract with KTLA, KCAL, or KDOC. It can be argued that the Kings are more popular than the Ducks, yet they are only on cable.
CanadianGuitarist Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 Since starting six Habs is beyond ridiculous - gentlemen, your all-star picks? East: G: Tim Thomas, with sincere condolences to Henrik. D: Mike Komisarek D: Mike Green F: Alex Semin F: Jeff Carter F: Marc Savard West: G: Roberto Luongo. Doesn't matter if he's not playing then - rules were bent for his captaincy, rules can be bent for him to play in the ASG. If I have to name someone else, Kiiprusoff or Backstrom. D: Shea Weber D: Dan Boyle F: Anze Kopitar F: Jarome Iginla F: Patrick Kane Anyone else watch Hardcore Hockey Talk on The Score? I love the 11:00 edition (even with Ludzik and Strachan, who I can take or leave), but it's night and day between that and the godforsaken 6:00 show. Why do television producers hear cash registers when they open the show to text messages?
Zetterberg is God Posted November 26, 2008 Author Report Posted November 26, 2008 West: Henrik Zetterberg Marian Hossa Ryan Getzlaf Shea Weber Brent Burns Roberto Luongo East Alexander Semin Alexander Ovechkin Thomas Vanek Mike Green Zdeno Chara Henrik Lundqvist
Guest Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 My All-Star picks are King Henrik Mike Green Andrei Markov Ovechkin Vanek Kovalchuk Niklas Backstrom Shea Weber Drew Doughty (write-in) Patrick Kane Jarome Iginla Marian Hossa
garfieldsnose Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 Eh, as biasedness as it seems, there's no way Jeff Carter shouldn't be in the starting lineup if the ASG was tomorrow.
CanadianGuitarist Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 As long as I'm bitching about HHT - in the span of ninety seconds, Strachan just used the word "dickheads" as well as, along with Ludzik, multiple uses of "Soviet Union" and "Soviets". Groan.
Guest Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 The Kings have played like ass, but Kopitar picked up a much needed goal. He needs to step his game up.
garfieldsnose Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 That Roy family needs anger management.
Matt Young Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 The Kings have played like ass, but Kopitar picked up a much needed goal. He needs to step his game up. Did you go to the game, or are you just saying that based on the score?
Guest Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 I watched it on justin.tv. By the way, the Flames announcers really suck.
treble Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 99% of anything on Sportsnet sucks. When you get into breaking it down regionally, it's just going to get worse.
Matt Young Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 I watched it on justin.tv. By the way, the Flames announcers really suck. Where can I watch the non-televised (in our area, anyway) Kings games on justin.tv?
packwingfn7 Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 Horribile 2 periods for the Red Wings so far. I hope they don't play like this on Saturday in Boston which I'll be attending...
Zetterberg is God Posted November 27, 2008 Author Report Posted November 27, 2008 Pretty dismal effort tonight with Mule's beauty and some of Conklin's work being the only obvious highlights.
the max Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 Uninspired effort from the Broons. They might be starting to believe their own hype. They did last year after going on a 5-0-1 streak and then got their doors blown off in, like, four straight games. Islanders v. Bruins on BLACK friday, the Broons unveil their excellent new thirds.
Matt Young Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 How many teams still have to unveil their 3rd jerseys? I thought the Kings were one of the last. I want the damn code for NHL 09. Evgeni Malkin got a hat trick and an asist against the Islanders. Good news for my fantasy team.
CanadianGuitarist Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 Mule's beauty Even watching the game live, I didn't appreciate just how good it was until the replay. Anyone could admire Franzen's great skating and stickwork in undressing O'Byrne, not to mention his off-balance backhand. What I noticed during the replay was his peripheral vision and timing, firing the backhand off the screen caused by a streaking Wing forward with a Hab on his tail. All in all, some lucky bounces, but a solid win for the Habs - just what they needed.
the max Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 Tough week for O'Byrne. Kessel rocked his world on the Bruins' first goal on saturday. Then he puts one in his own net the other night. And now tonight, Franzen turns him inside out. Maybe he should go out and steal a purse to make himself feel better.
CanadianGuitarist Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 Maybe he should go out and steal a purse to make himself feel better. What am I missing there? I've heard a few people say that now. Oh, and idiot Pierre Macguire had this gem during the second period. "Lot of fans have been hard on O'Byrne, and Patrice Brisebois' been really hard on him too. Couple times on the bench now, he's slapped O'Bryne on the leg and told him what a great job he's doing tonight, really encouraging him."
the max Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 Maybe he should go out and steal a purse to make himself feel better. What am I missing there? I've heard a few people say that now. He and Kostopolous got hammered in Tampa and were initially busted for stealing purses from girls. It ended up being false, but not before some fun photoshops surfaced...
CanadianGuitarist Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 I remember the arrest, but not the fake accusation. That photoshop is pretty funny, dammit.
the max Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 From what I remember, he was hanging with some Tampa tramp who asked him to hold her purse while she used the can. Then she claimed that she didn't give him her purse, he stole it. No charges were ever filed though.
Guest Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 I watched it on justin.tv. By the way, the Flames announcers really suck. Where can I watch the non-televised (in our area, anyway) Kings games on justin.tv? Go to the myp2p.eu forum, click the NHL folder, then the "Ice Hockey Today" thread, and you'll find something every time. As long as the game is on somewhere in North America, that is. Good win tonight over the Oil. Two point game for Kopi. Needed to get him going.
Darthtiki Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 I watched it on justin.tv. By the way, the Flames announcers really suck. Where can I watch the non-televised (in our area, anyway) Kings games on justin.tv? Matt & 909, TimeWarner had it on the NHL Network tonight. I'm pretty certain that NHLN is part of their sports tier, but they haven't bumped off as with the Center Ice package. I'm treating this as a gift like when Chandler & Joey got unscrambled porn. Also, today is the NHL's birthday
Guest Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 Fortunately they added the NHL Network to Charter Cable prior to this season. Best channel ever.
