The staff decided today that you guys will be able to vote on whether or not EHME can come back. In or out. In addition to that, I'd like explanations. He wrote an appeal to the board, btw...here it is.

 

Hello TSM posters/admins/mods.

 

In the afternoon 2/10/2009, I was unrightfully banned for unknown reasons to my knowledge. It was my belief I was banned for my behavior for in a secetion of the forum that is labeled, "No Holds Barred" where it is suppose to be anything goes. But apparently that is not the case anymore. Apparently you can get away with posting pornographic pictures of young children, but you can't use the "No Holds Barred" scetion for it's premises, which is laughable if you ask me.

 

Last year I was called on for my behavior outside the "No Holds Barred" forum, where I would insult other posters and instigate flame wars with other posters. At the time the admins/mods did the right thing and called me out on it and told me to apologize. At the time I was in the wrong, for doing the honorable thing, I apologized for my actions and kept the flames and insults inside the "No Holds Barred".

 

A year later I'm banned for doing the opposite of what I was called out on, for a various reasons. I feel like I am victim of an injustice, and the right thing should be done and that is making me (EHME), a member of The Smart Marks community again. I have contributed it all of the others scetions of the forum, providing intelligent conversation and adding to the discussion in any I can.

 

If you felt I was acting out of line in a scetion that is suppose to be "No Holds Barred", where anything goes, the fair punishment would've been to remove me from the scetion instead of stripping me of my posting right as a whole, when I have done nothing wrong in the rule book. Their are many posters that still remain within the The Smartmarks community that are still allowed to do what they wish, that have broken the rules and done more wrong then what I've done. Yet here I am, and there they are.

 

It is brought to my attention that they're are various posters within the community that are voting for my reinstatement back into the forum. Even going as far launching an "Free EHME" campaign, I would like to take the time out and thank each and every one of you. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't even be given the chance to explain myself and possibly become an active member again.

 

My only request is for the right thing to be done, and allow me to become a member of The Smartmarks community. Thank you for your time and hopefully justice will prevail!

It's too easy to mess with the polling system, so post your answer. A two-thirds vote for him to stay is needed to get the vote to staff level. Then we vote, and will declassify it afterward. If two-thirds of staff members vote for EHME to be allowed back in, then he'll be back.

If there's a way we could ban him from No Holds Barred and let him post elsewhere, I'd be for that.

 

But as a simple yes or no question...eh, I'll say let him back in. With EHME, I've always had kind of a damned if you do, damned if you don't approach. I don't think the board is any better or worse without him.

Seriously, banning somebody for their behavior in No Holds Barred when we've got people pulling the tough guy card in the folders where it is not to be tolerated? That's retarded, and so is anybody who condones it. I hope you douchnozzles are next.

I think he needs to be kept on a very tight leash. I mean, really tight. There were posts in the MMA folder that I didn't particularly care for in serious threads that were him giving a wonderful post that amounted to "fuck you" instead of actually defending his points. That or something about being drunk. I don't care about other forums, but I consider the MMA folder something more then regular bullshit where we actually try to have discussion. If I wanted to deal with BS from parts of this folder like NHB, I'd post in those sections. Or post at fucking Sherdog.

 

And it seems like he has a habit of regressing every so often to his "fite me" shtick. He CAN be a decent/good poster when he wants to be, but when he's doing that BS then he's annoying. I say in, but under the knowledge that one fuck up is his ass. Basically, the axe is hanging above his neck and if he messes up just once it's dropping.

What's your point? When EHME was posting fine, I would do as you suggest. I'm not going to lower myself to try and talk any kind of sense into anyone who's acting like that. I don't care who it is. If you notice, I never involve myself in anything on this board that isn't some kind of discussion or point I can join into. That's how I "roll". I leave wacky stories or hijinx to other people. Not my thing.

 

And I find that final point ironic considering that's pretty much what I do in most major threads with our less informed posters over there.

 

If EHME was given warnings and he then proceeded to piss off the mods, I'm supposed to go to bat for him? No. I wouldn't expect anyone to do that for me.

 

Edit: I should note. I don't post anywhere else for MMA on the net. I choose to post here because I know the vast majority of the posters in the MMA section are well educated, or if they are wrong, they'll admit it. Just like I am and I will. When EHME was posting fine, he was perfectly acceptable. But I don't feel the need to *HAVE* to deal with someone's bullshit. If he comes back and posts fine, then I will rescind my comments. Until then, they stand.

I would back you up, beduase this is a fucking message board, and imo, such a thing shouldn't be fucking takn all that serously in the least. i disagred with you about talking extensivly about the business side of mma comparituvely to the action itself, but just because it annoys the shit out of me doesnt mean i think you should be banned. same for EHEM. if it's really so fucking terrible that he goes around shit talking on the shit talking section of the site, limit him to mma of something. i just thing banning forn anything less than illegal shit or stuff that legit wiill fuck the board up shoul dbe written off as a hazard of interwebing.

Is this the guy that keeps calling people out in NHB? Who was sober for 4 days after New Years and then went back to being e-drunk? That's the only real contact I've had with him on the boards, if it is that guy. What I'd suggest would be an ignore user feature for those who can't be bothered with him.
