Obi Chris Kenobi 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2009 A 14-year-old girl has been accused of child pornography for posting nearly 30 explicit nude pictures of herself on MySpace. Skip related content Related photos / videos Girl In Nude MySpace Pics Child Porn Arrest The charges could force the teenager from New Jersey, US, to register as a sex offender, if convicted. Her arrest came as prosecutors across America pursue child pornography cases over kids sending naked photographs to one another by mobile phone and emails. Social networking website MySpace would not comment on the New Jersey investigation, but the company has a team that reviews its network for inappropriate images. Police arrested the girl after a tip-off from America's National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children. Passaic County sheriff's spokesman Bill Maer said: "We consider this case a wake-up call to parents." The girl posted the photos because "she wanted her boyfriend to see them," he said. The teen was charged with possession of child pornography and distribution of child pornography. She was released to her mother's custody. If convicted of the distribution charge, she would be forced to register with the state as a sex offender under Megan's Law, said state Attorney-General Anne Milgram. She also could face up to 17 years in jail, though such a stiff sentence is unlikely. Some - including the New Jersey mother behind the creation of Megan's Law - criticised the trend of prosecuting teens who send racy text messages or post illicit photos of themselves. Maureen Kanka's daughter Megan became the law's namesake after the seven-year-old was raped and killed in 1994 by a twice-convicted sex offender. She said: "(The 14-year-old) should have an intervention and counselling, because the only person she exploited was herself." - Sky News Reported This is all kinds of lolmaroflcopters as the kids on Myspace would say. Perfxion 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2009 The sad or funny part about this is that they are throwing the book at the girl and could ruin her life without anyone but herself to blame. She would not be able to live in some places, every neighborhood she tries to move into would think she committed some major crime. And when she gets older people might think she is some kind of school teacher. I am all for going after child porn, but this might be a little extreme. If they arrest her to only give her back to her parents custody to ground the ever loving shit out of her, fine. But I hope they don't go the Full Monty on this case, it would be some utter bullshit. zhangmeijie 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2009 So she wanted to send nude pictures of herself to ger boyfriend? Bitch you never hear of a phone camera? Matt Young 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2009 Bitch you never hear of a phone camera? That settles it. It's KOAB. And I wish there had been MySpace or some other social network for whores to expose themselves when I was a teenager.
Sideburnious 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2009 Hope you don't mean to her Myspace page... What else would we want? Also, this just shows how stupid the law is. Either that or how paranoid parents are. They're hoping to make an example of this girl by throwing the book at her so their own stupid daughters don't start posting nude pics of themselves. They should just look at the success they had with kids taking drugs. I'm not saying the pics should be up there, just take them down, and then get the parents to ground her or something. She doesn't sound like a sex offender to me, she sounds like a horny dumb kid. And since when were nudes aloud on myspace? Or is that how she was caught? Jingus 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2009 So she wanted to send nude pictures of herself to ger boyfriend? Bitch you never hear of a phone camera? There have been cases recently of kids getting arrested for that too, and also getting charged with child pornography. The news over here has been saturated with paranoid doom-mongering stories about teenagers "sexting". American society and law have gotten more and more bizarrely obsessed with heavily punishing anything involving sex and a minor, regardless of how utterly harmless the act itself was. Like that 17-year-old kid a while back who was sentenced to 10 years in jail for getting a consensual blowjob from a girl two years younger than him. The weirdest thing is how some people act like these things are a sign that our culture is getting more depraved. If anything, children are kept more sheltered now than at almost any time in history. Even in the early 20th century, it wasn't uncommon for a middle-aged men to marry girls who were still in the middle of puberty.

Well like to marry girls much younger would be more accurate maybe. Mostly they like their wife to be 15+ years younger. Actually I do have vauge memories of an (underage) girl getting arrested for putting nude photos as a picture text on a phone. Personally I am very against any kind of child porn. Sickens me. However in this case, the case of sending a boyfriend photos, is it really child porn? Only the also underage boyfriend saw the photos. In the case of a underage person posting them on myspace it clearly is child porn, but is it a criminal offence? If an adult posted of course, but an adult didn't post them. EricMM 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2009 I'm not sure how, but I get the feeling that there just needs to be a difference in punishment between a fifteen year old trading pictures and someone with a bunch of pictures of naked four year olds. I don't exactly know how, but when you're eighteen and you have sex with a sixteen year old, its just not the same as having sex with a five year old. SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2009 Treating this like child pornography makes about as much sense as arresting a masturbating 15 year-old for statutory rape.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2009 Treating this like child pornography makes about as much sense as arresting a masturbating 15 year-old for statutory rape. That's next. They'll go one step further and charge the person they were masturbating too as well.
Sideburnious 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2009 Yeah, that was going to be my next point. If I masturbated at 14 would I be a child molester? I mean the girl took pictures of herself, it's not some guy who locked her in a basement and forced them to happen. & this whole child pornography is bullshit too, there has to be a clearer line between teens & preteens. I think 14 is a bit on the young side, but like when a 17 year old girl is getting charged with child porn (I think that nude pics over phone case from a few weeks ago ) it's very retarded. My dick and consciousness didn't grow and expand at the stroke of midnight when I turned 18 (oh god if only!). Infact I'd say I was pretty mature around 16. Not saying I still didn't make more stupid mistakes than I do now (and I still continue to make) but I knew the difference of right and wrong. Parents just need to take care of their kids and everyone else should fuck off. Now if you'll excuse me, I believe there's a drawer full of baby photos of myself that will get me 20-life that I have to burn.

Even in the early 20th century, it wasn't uncommon for a middle-aged men to marry girls who were still in the middle of puberty. That is the funny thing to me. Back then, parents encouraged their daughters to marry an older man who could provide/take care of her. It's also funny to think that it is illegal for 70 year old male to sleep with a 16/17 year old girl. That age difference being 53-54 years. But once that girl hits 18 she can go and have sex with an 80 year old if she wanted to.

NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2009 If she was just having sex with her boyfriend(assuming he was the same age) or blowing him or flashing him etc etc....there is no crime perse, I believe, however because she used a camera it is suddenly child porn? WTF.....
Jingus 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2009 Actually, depending on the jurisdiction, it is a crime for two minors of the same age to have sex. Even if they're both the same age, as long as they're underage it's still statutory rape. Naturally, the boy is the only one ever prosecuted for such.
