Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted March 20, 2004 ITEM 1: If you don't read Gotham Knights (and judging by sales figures- you don't) DC Comics feels like changing that by continuing the Hush saga over there with a BRAND NEW CREATIVE TEAM and a BRAND NEW DIRECTION. They will all be heading Southeast now. It begins in Issue 50. Issue 51 has already dropped and the arc looks very promising, it's four parts, so don't wait for the TPB that may never come... buy that shit now cheapskate. ITEM 2: Since it's current incarnation's inception at FREE COMIC BOOK DAY 2003 BATMAN ADVENTURES has been the most consistantly awesome Bat-Title on the market. The latest Issue is no different. ITEM 3: The final Part of DEATH AND THE MAIDENS is coming soon and I feel I should compliment Mr. Rucka and Mr. Janson on allowing me to feel a taste of what it must be like to have lived as long as Ra's did (Without the interesting parts) after reading it from Issue 1 to now. Rucka has apparantly gone insane, kids. ITEM 4: Speaking of which, Judd Winnick will be helming for the next arc of BATMAN "As The Crow Flies". He says he doesn't want this title to become a "collection of unrelated TPBs", and so this arc will have a few threads connecting it to HUSH and BROKEN CITY. Rumor has it, these threads will involve Bruce Wayne losing his powers, finding out he's a clone, Sasha coming back, Hush being revealed as Batman from the future, Joker being killed by Batman from the future for no reason, and Croc getting punched in the teeth again. ITEM 5: The current NIGHTWING arc was cooler back when it was called BORN AGAIN. (Devin) Grayson sucks, Dick Grayson is a badass who needs Bill Finger to come back from the dead and build him a Rogue's Gallery. ITEM 6: Re: ROBIN story plans: "FUCK SPOILER." Thank you. Boner Kawanger 0 Report post Posted March 20, 2004 Z, I'm guessing you know that Batman Adventures is going to be cancelled in a few months? And just as I was able to start picking it up reguarly. I also got the Gotham Knights Hush issue, looks good. Don't forget about Superman/Batman. They just ended a major storyline over there in issue six and things are picking up. Its the central DCU book as far as I'm concerned.

I didn't until now, but I went in with the knowledge that the book probobly wouldn't make it to Issue 25. I haven't read Superman/Batman since Issue 2. I just lost all interest. The covers look cool though.
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted March 20, 2004 Damnit, need a summer job so I can start picking up the Batman Adventures series. I've been eyeing that series for a while but with no cash at the moment, kind of hard to do anything about it yet.

You forge the part where both Robin and Huntress reveal that they're gay. ....what? This IS Winick. Don't act as if it's not possible.

Guest The Midnight Rocking Warrior Report post Posted April 5, 2004 Speaking of Batman and Superman, did Supes and Bats take dives against Hawkman and Marvel? Because I can't really justify Hawkman beating Batman or Superman, thanks.

Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted April 6, 2004 Can anyone give me some details on "Broken City?" Part 1 - Batman interrogates Killer Croc about a young girl's murder. He gleans no information, but is sure that Croc killed the girl. He travels to the apartment of the girl's brother, Angel Lupo who has gone into hiding since the murder. He meets Margo Farr, Angel's squeeze and intends on using her to find Angel. As expected she goes to find Angel, but when she's almost raped by a local gang member Batman reveals himself to save her. Angel escapes, and when The Batman gives chase he comes across a couple murdered in the streets... their young son the only survivor. Part 2 - Batman contacts Crispus Allen on the GCPD and informs him he believes Angel Lupo was behind the double murder at the end of Issue 1. After a bit of brooding, Batman interrogates an informant and Croc and learns the location of one of Angel Lupo's chop shop friends: Johnny Billy in Little Tokyo. Batman learns Angel had been there, but before he can interrogate Billy further, he is set on by an assailant so fast... that Batman can't even see him/her. Dandy 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2004 Thanks for your sincerity and help. I have been unable to spend any money whatsoever in the past few months, and even had to sell my Wrestlemania tickets that were two seats behind Dames. I struggle to pay rent each month as I try to get back on my feet, but I'll take your advice and search for all the back issues that I have missed and buy them up without knowing if they are even worth it. I shouldn't have asked if you could give a synopsis of a Batman storyline like you have done many times in threads on here. How very, very selfish of me. I'm such a prick. Dandy 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2004 Can anyone give me some details on "Broken City?" I asked you earlier in the thread if you could give me a rundown. After there was some other discussions going on, I asked if "anyone" could give some details. You chose to respond. I then asked what happened in the rest of the arc, and you responded the way you did. This isn't the HD forum, so I'll keep my real thoughts to myself, but you ought to consider getting over yourself. It was a question on a message board. Guest The Midnight Rocking Warrior Report post Posted April 7, 2004 Guys lets not fight, we're all friends here......... however if you do want to piss Mr. Z off, ask him if Bats has ever beaten Supes in a non-elseworlds story However, if you'd like to piss me off, ask me why Kyle Rayner has been beaten by WW ( League of one), Silver surfer ( Marvel vs. Dc), Orion ( Sparring session), Alan scott ( Even though it was his first day on the job) and would have lost to Wonderman if superman didn't bail him out. On a bright note however, Kyle did beat a drained Surfer in their crossover, so that makes his record about 1-4. Has Kyle ever beaten a Dc hero?

Guest The Midnight Rocking Warrior Report post Posted April 7, 2004 If memory serves me correctly, that was Talia, or whoever the hell Ras Al Ghul sent. Batman made the plan, but Talia did the work.
Dr. Tom 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2004 The important part is that it was Batman's plan, and he could have very easily carried it out if he ever needed to.
Guest The Midnight Rocking Warrior Report post Posted April 7, 2004 Point taken, however I just picked up Day of judgement 1-4, and it has Superman ( while posessed) take out both Batman and Kyle.......... Kyle's always getting his ass kicked! Oh well.
Guest The Midnight Rocking Warrior Report post Posted April 7, 2004 And so no one thinks I'm being biased, Batman is capable of taking out the entire Jla, and is the greatest non- powered hero of all-time. He even knocked out one of my favorite heros ( Green arrow, when Bats sucker punched him in Quiver), and Batman is capable of beating Superman, but it would take a lot of time, hours of planning, and a shit-load of Kryptonite

Guest The Notorious CRD Report post Posted April 22, 2004 Sorry for bumping an old topic but does anyone know if the cancellation of Batman Adventures is the end of the animated style series or will a new one take its place? I'm a subscriber so I'm just curious.
Guest SP-1 Report post Posted April 22, 2004 WB, I think, is developing a new series that's set in a Year Two or Year One kind of scenario called "The Batman". But it doesn't follow the Animated Series timeline and is pretty much run by a new creative team.
