  1. Iron Fist. That's all Ray Park, I think. Let's face it, if the character involves a buff, wisecracking/sarcastic adult hero, Reynolds will be rumoured for it. So going through the list, you're probably looking at Deadpool, Flash III, Gambit, Booster Gold (Giffen/DeMatteis/Maguire version), Hawkeye, probably Matter-Eater Lad if they did an older Legion, and maybe even Nova. Probably missed a few, but you get the idea...
  2. All-Stars in two words: Hypertime stories.
  3. What about C-3P0 and R2-D2 on Sesame Street? Forgot about that, but still, 3PO didn't dance on Sesame Street. And holy crap, that was also quite a long time ago. I feel old now. Then again, I AM turning 31 next week, so that probably makes me ancient on this board... That explains a lot of things right there.
  4. I agree with you in that it's his playground, and he can do what he wants. But personally I think that the "real vision" story is a half-truth. Did he want to add in Jabba and clean up FX like the landspeeder? Of course he did. Things like the Ronto, the ghost of Joey Lawrence and the multi-planet celebration at the end? I find that hard to believe. Just be honest, George, and say you like to tinker...
  5. Probably a combo of Steph not in the "Gorilla" position telling him what to say and just reading lines...
  6. Look on the bright side. Michael Madsen is in it. And it can't possibly be worse than the "unscripted" Mark Burnett show The Casino. Right?
  7. I realize that I'm not making the playoffs or anything, but can we at least wait until I lose next week before tacking on that 9th loss? Please? (edit) Muchos Gracias...
  8. Celebrity Blackjack is horrible. It shows what happens when only 2 out of the 5 contestants actually know how to play poker. On the plus side, the commentary by Dave Foley and Phil Gordon is miles better than Mike Sexton and Vince Van Pattern on the WPT, although those two could probably get Scott Stapp over as a poker genius (which he definitely wasn't). Anyways, back on topic, the "best" Star Wars TV before Clone Wars was probably Mark Hamill on the Muppet Show. Not that that's saying much.
  9. All in the wording, I suppose. That Twist is one smart goon...
  10. I went from going "WTF?" to laughing my head off. Instant classic. The only thing I really don't like about this skit is that I don't think Trump can ad lib that well. Now that they've found something that works for Horatio, they'll overdo this to death. Still, it was over the top enough to make me enjoy it, so I won't complain. Yet. The Frog was holding down Animal...
  11. Just as a guideline, I usually see this at conventions running for between $10-20. I think it's a bootleg DVD that includes the fan films "The Dark Redemption", "Lucas in Love" and "Troops"...
  12. He had a career after "Suburban Commando"? Maybe not much of a movie career, but he was an exec producer on Frasier, so I don't think he was exactly crying for work...
  13. I think I have a bootleg lying around somewhere...
  14. if we are going to be tasteless... Brandon Lee-The Crow I think it could actually be argued that had he lived, Julia's career wouldn't have. Whereas The Crow would've been the first step to a fairly long career for Brandon Lee. Scary thing about Tank Girl is that I rather enjoyed it, as it was totally over the top. Another funny thing is that it only killed Petty's career. Ice-T is doing pretty well on Law & Order: SVU, Naomi Watts broke out with The Ring, Malcolm McDowell is still a great character actor, and even creator Jamie Hewlett had some success in the UK with music group Gorillaz. Anyways... wasn't Chris Klein supposed to be the Next Big Thing?
  15. Geez, you left that out? Goings in the flex over Evans then...
  16. Considering he wants to burn any and all bootlegs, probably not. It's not like he hasn't had a chance to make a buck off of it yet. Young Jedi Knights by Anderson and Moesta? It would pretty much have to be during that era, seeing as Hamill is a bit older now. Maybe do the adventures of Corran Horn or something...
  17. That's basically where I'm at with Cementhead Domi and the Leafs. Well, except that Vince actually has talent. All I can tell you is that you eventually get over it. That would require some drastic measures. Bob would have to renounce any and all loyalty to the Nets, including ritual burning of any paraphenelia he owns before pledging allegiance to the Sonics...
  18. First off, I have to say that I don't expect any of these guys to really help you. If your big 3 have great games, you'll win. Anything you get from these other guys will be gravy. But since you asked... Well, Tiki and Droughns are obvious as your RBs. RBs are an afterthought in Martzland, so Faulk is a start only if one of the other two are injured. At WR I'd probably start Smith and Walker with Evans at the flex. Smith is THE primary receiver for Jax, and with Favre at home Walker is probably a good bet to get around 6 catches and maybe a TD. Evans is Buffalo's go long guy, so really you're rolling the dice with him, but I think he's a better choice over Emmitt Smith (since the QB fiasco has fucked up the entire team), Johnson (because Dorsey forgets that he exists) or Faulk (again, forgotten). 88s all around for you...
  19. According to the Toronto Star, F Jerome Moiso was waived, and the devastating rookie combo of Hoffa and Sow got turf toe or something and are on the IR.
  20. Mourning's still got a year after this one, so they can't dump it.
  21. I'd go for a Wally West version juxtaposed with Barry Allen myself. I also thought that the John Wesley Shipp TV version wasn't bad either. Letting Goyer create a Jay Garrick version is pretty cool, but doesn't seem too smart considering it's Wally in the Justice League Unlimited and in JLA.
  22. He doesn't have a no-trade clause. Babcock has basically said that he's getting the best return possible for Carter and if he ends up on a crap team, he can pull a Ricky Williams for all he cares. Anyways, Aaron Williams is a C/PF who doesn't seem to be good or bad at anything. In the last year of his contract, so he's probably a candidate to be released. If not him, then probably Pape Sow. Eric Williams I suppose would help, but at this point I think if Mourning can play centre it helps Chris Bosh out a ton. Good riddance, Vince. Enjoy the swamp with Eli...
  23. So is it a good one or is it one of those where the waitresses are just "eh"?

    Soccer

We'll see if Freddy Ad-who? can change things. I doubt it though. Baseball has the most glacial pace of any major sport. But it's popular here because it's a piece of Americana, and because you can go take a piss and/or get a beer without missing a thing. The thing with soccer is that even if the pace is "slow", it's always moving, so if you do get into it you don't want to go anywhere for fear of missing something. But that may be because we're not knowledgable enough to know when to get beers during games, I dunno.

    Soccer

I think pro soccer isn't as popular in North America mostly because the public has been trained to expect not just a lot of offence, but scoring as well. So if you don't know much about the sport, it comes off as rather boring on television. And if it's boring on TV, then you're probably unwilling to go see it live.
