I'm glad this thread didn't just get closed as a knee-jerk reaction, it was fairly interesting. Ron Mael of Sparks successfully wore a Hitler moustache. And released a song called 'White Women'. Good lad.

I keep waking up with my face stuck to my discman and my headphones round my throat, and yes, it's always Journey in there. Or The Only Ones. If that's not a recommendation...
-
Oh, and check out The Monks' Black Monk Time for good 60s music.
-
I love the first Clash album, but it's not amazing. I would certainly put them above pub rock. Now The Damned, that's ultimate pub rock. But I like that too.
-
Kings of Leon are, amazingly, uglier without beards. And those ears, christ. Inbred fucks. 'Aiiiiggggghteeeeeenn' indeed. That new song is horrible.
-
I seem to recall having one endorsement. It's settled then!
-
Monks - 'I Hate You'.

The Streets - A Grand Don't Come For Free

^ Aye. It's naive to say Van Halen were average. You can hate the music, but they were doing it better than their peers.
-
Not doing this deliberately, but the Journey is far better than Talk Talk. You might prefer Talk Talk, due to being WR0NG, but objectively, it's only ok really. I prefer Japan.
-
Or so he thought. has Black Books made it stateside? I think that's one of the best things ever, and am curious to gauge a Yank reaction to it.
-
hehehe looks like i'm getting a swish suit from my mother (who is damn good at buying me clothes, bizarrely enough) the damned album from my kid brother is much appreciated, not opened the rest. The turkey looks fucking awesome, I'm not above killing my family, sticking it on a skewer and eating it like a lollipop for the next day or so.

Damned - Damned Damned Damned I need to be drunk for this. Back later.
-
At age 8 I'm not sure what my tastes were, I don't think I bought Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince's Code Red till I was 10.

Well, Britain is fairly dull. That's part of the idea, I only noticed about the fourth time I watched how much background noise (sirens, army trucks etc) was going on with the main characters completely oblivious and preoccupied with their relationship crises etc. Honestly, you will have missed stuff, the record throwing sequence isn't really that obscure.
-
I dunno, some fat little fuck.
-
I don't expect yanks to get Shaun of the Dead fully, but watch it again, and you'll see stuff you missed. Very well made film.
-
I'll second Hope of the States as having a case too. I'm sick of this 'token violinist' movement. It's no good having one if you've got some Johnny Greenwood wannabe twatting the shit out of a Gibson next to him, folks!
-
The Very Best of Talk Talk Hard to see when it'll get played though, what with Journey being next to it. 'Be Good To Yourself' is starting to really grow on me as well, just because the intro reminds me of Andrew WK. More so than the others.
-
Radiohead are above average, mainly because of Johnny Greenwood. I'll go with U2. For the amount of records they've shifted, they really haven't ever done anything unbelievable.

1-12 = Separate Ways 12+ = Don't Stop Believin

*sigh* I'd be good at the British bar routine....wish I had a verile kliq.

It appears my vote was conclusive.

I'm-a goin down to Flo-ri-da An I'm gonna bowl me a perfect game

Monks - Black Monk Time. Well, to say this is nearly 40 years old, it's pretty fucking good. 'I Hate You' is the stand out thus far.
