  1. Yes. Lucky the photographer happened to be in the playground at the time.
  2. He still gets a reaction. The Gore's still over. And he looks like a hulked-up Andrew WK, so I love 'im. I'd like to see him make it elsewhere, it was bizarre the way his team with Tajiri was just abandoned in favour of the french.
  3. Pixies. Oh fuck, Who am I kidding thinking I can avoid buying a leeds ticket?
  4. Or indeed, if they played England anywhere. Glastonbury would make me shit a brick. In the theatre tent. I love that album, cos it's so fucking bleak, but it's still very much a Residents album.
  5. ^ Yeah. I can't understand how people can like the song, either. And I'm not completely anti-GnR.
  6. British Band. Did 'Under the moon of love'. Which probably doesn't help you. Clinic are good, and I Am Kloot are ok as well. I've heard another futureheads song, after warming to 'Hounds of Love' slightly, and it wasn't good. Something to do with 'false conversations'? The intro wasn't bad.
  7. Agreed. I still have virtually no knowledge of Radiohead albums, despite being surrounded by obsessive fans. I especially like that one and 'Pyramid Song' from what I've heard of their recent output.
  8. Yeah. I'm undecided as to whether Nick Cave's new Double album could've just been one. There's a couple of duff tracks, but most of the good ones are pretty long. Neither is near his best, but a return to form after a few years of mainly bland offerings.
  9. I like both songs, but neither are among my favourites.
  10. Pixies - 'Velouria'. Jesus Christ. The band go rock climbing in jerky slow motion for the entire duration of the song. The camera does not change once. Given the good artwork of their albums, they made some of the worst videos of all time.
  11. Green Day don't piss me off that much, their new stuff isn't good but they've been able to hook the kids for ten years and I appreciate that.
  12. XTC - White Music Bloody new wave...
  13. I'm alarmingly mainstream when it comes to nailing female singers, with Rachel Stevens and most of Girls Aloud near the top. Louise Wener from Sleeper was fucking hot, remember her? Dunno if they ever got to the US.
  14. No, you can't, especially after you've heard Morrissey do it live. 'Paint a Vulgar Picture is the one track I would jettison. I HAVE A RINGTONE OF 'THIS TOWN AIN'T BIG ENOUGH FOR BOTH OF US' And thus will never need another. It. Is. Awesome.
  15. Well, 'Hounds of Love' was certainly better than the other song of theirs I keep hearing, I'll give it that. Dunno what that one was called. Given the skippy Englishness of their tunes, I think I'll probably come to regard them as somewhat of a guilty pleasure, which no doubt will piss me off even more.
  16. They're not that bad, in a kasabian and keane infested landscape. But they're bad enough to warrant me telling 'Hounds of Love' to fuck off.
  17. In other news, Kinetic continues his sporadic yet consistent descent into complete madness.
  18. I'm just sick of the current wave of XTC thievery, and the futureheads are far and away the biggest offenders.
  19. XTC - Black Sea. Go 2 it ain't (what is?) yet I guess if I were to rate it objectively, it would be awesome.
  20. Let's rate them.
  21. What the hell is so good about them? Everything I've heard was vaguely harmless I guess, but certainly nothing more. 'Hounds of Love' can fuck right the fuck off. And I agree that every current British band mentioned is shite, though I will express my fondness for British Sea Power.
  22. The grocery-buying public are at least 50% mentally ill
  23. Yeah, my friend works for HSBC and says the exact same thing.
