  1. I can't imagine how much fun you must have mocking a team that's infinitely better than the one you like. Hey we have more overall championships! And once I have completed my coupe of Danny Ainge then we'll be padding that record! It's not so much that I hate the Lakers it's that I hate there star players and the movie stars that show up to the games. I also hate how we just HAVE to see who's there and be told that this team is better.....b/c movie stars come to there games that probably know little to nothing about basketball.
  2. The reason JJJ says that in Spidey 2, is in the Marvel movies it's supposed to be each movie self contained. So in Spidey's world there are no X-Men or Hulk or Punisher, etc. etc. Kinda sucks it's that way, as a Wolvie/Punisher or DD/Spidey movie might be fun. Also, if they could ever do X-Men/Spiderman, a long Nightcrawler vs Spiderman fight could be pretty cool. Despite DKSA being weird, pick up Miller's run on Daredevil through trade paper backs and such, I'd also suggest the Kevin Smith tpb (forget the name, the one with him cradeling Karen Page on the front). For Spiderman, can't go wrong with Kraven's hunt and some of the Venom stuff and older stories. Essential books for Marvel are generally great and cheap for the amount of stuff you get. Lastly, Trade Paperbacks aren't always complete stories anymore, espically since TPB's sell well, so Marvel is publishing for TPBs alot. Which, at least in my area at home makes sense, because the one comic shop really close is a SCARY SCARY PLACE--the people there make the Simpsons' comic book guy look like James Bond by comparison, but walking into a Barnes and Noble and buying a tpb doesn't feel as icky. That's why I personally think some comic book stores hurt the industry as most people like comics, but a lot of the stores are pretty nerdy spots. I know of one comic book shop that actually is trendy and cool and has a great crowd and crew that works there--and they sell music and old vinyl records as well, along with magazines and stuff, but this is more the exception than the rule it seems. Though of course comic book shops have nothing on the "Magic Card and D&D stores". Friend of mine and I were at an outlet mall/flea market joint looking at some old Baseball cards and walked into the next store to get to the store adjacent to that--another sports card store, but we passed through a room with 50 or so folks playing Magic and stuff..... it smelled worse than a high school locker room........ I don't think they're self contained because they make reference to Dr. Strange in Spidey 2. And on top of that this kind of stuff happens in the comics a lot. One super hero will vanish and nobody will step up to take on his villains. And what makes these stores nerdy and the others trendy and cool? Well first of all IMO trendy is definetly not cool. So that one goes out the window. Second of all why is it nerdy? Because they like comic books? Because it's a hobby to them? That's weak. And don't give me the "Oh well they're 25 year old balding men who live in there mother's basement and can't get a date b/c all they spend there money on is comic books!" That's such a god damn absurd stereotype that is so SO very rare that it makes me want to cry.
  3. You're right! THAT'S IT! *mom walks by down the hallway. Throws ball into her hands.* DIE! *tackles mom*
  4. What if he used his magical ring to become BUSH LANTERN! -=Mike I thought they quit giving those to presidents when Jimmy Carter swallowed his.
  5. Oh I see that I've pretty much been written out of everyone's schedule. That's ok. I didn't know much about college football when we did the Bowl Pick Em'. This season I'm ready though. I have a couple of College Football previews, and I've been reading everything I can on college football and listening to the radio this past offseason. You're all in for a rude awakening. I gurantee it.
  6. Does this have they the Christmas Robot episode? "What did you say your name was again?" "Danzig motherfucker!"
  7. You talk big Kotz......but we'll see........we'll see.
  8. *joins a sports betting service* You guys are so dead.....
  9. Well then hopefully Kobe realized it was a series when he got his ass beat at home in Game 1 of the Finals....oh wait nobody believed it was a series even then.......so him saying he's spewing BS when he says that.
  10. If you get it on DVD then it's not poorly subbed. And it comes just as simple to me to watch it subbed than watch it in English. I can pay attention the same way and I actually get more out of watching it subbed b/c I hear the original VA's who usually overshadow the english VA's in terms of emotion and just acting ability. I don't understand how it could be a chore or harder to watch it subbed.
  11. Kansas State, Nebraska, and Oklahoma State all make bowl appearances consistently and have winning seasons. We did!? To fight the KKK? When was that? That's kind of cool.......
  12. Yes they do.......they did it for 30 years......... And it looks as bad now as it ever did. The outfits that they had during Morrison's run or in Ultimate X-Men are greatly improved over the classics. Do you want people laughing at Hugh Jackman for 2 hours? I don't think anyone would laugh at him. And I don't think they looked bad at all and have never looked bad. People saying "They would look absurd! And no hero would wear that!" Well guess what? They did wear it!
  13. I don't mind the one about leaving it all out on the field. Though one game at a time does annoy me. It seems to have always been an excuse for "We know what we're fucking doing and we have it all planned out." or "We have no fucking clue what's going on."
  14. That's the thing though. Maybe it's just that I've always been at a reading level higher than my peers(could read at a high school level in 4th grade) but I just never felt like I was reading it. It's always been the same as sitting back and watching it in English to me.
  15. I never mentioned OU. You did. I was talking about most colleges in the Great Plains area. You did it.....not me.
  16. I've never thought of Oklahoma as being in the Midwest...Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Iowa, and Ohio have always been my definition of the Midwest. I'd lump Oklahoma in with Kansas, Nebraska, North and South Dakota as the Great Plains (read: nobody cares about this region) But damn can we play some college football.
  17. Yes they do.......they did it for 30 years.........
  18. I mean........that's terrible........ Seriously though I live in the midwest but for some reason am lumped in with the south and all of there rednecks(god dammit oklahoma doesn't have rednecks! we have guys that think they're cowboys! there is a difference!)and I've gotten to the point where I just ignore it. Also for some reason Oklahoma seems to have the highest percentage of white kids dressing like they were extra's on the set of "you got served".
  19. HAHA! Just like Oklahoma in 2000! Unranked in the preseason and out of nowhere for the title! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
  20. Back off bud! Everyone knows it'd be a travesty if I didn't get OU in this contest. It'd be like Anglesault not getting the Yankee's in a baseball contest.
  21. Aren't you new to this board? It was decided a few weeks ago, by some members here, that Bush should have jumped out of his seat immediately, and used his super powers to personally fly into the air and stop the remaining planes. AND to capture Osama Bin Laden that very same day, possibly by using his super heat-vision, or perhaps his super-cold breath. He didn't do that though, which is why hate him. Bush: I have to make a phone call. I'll be back........ Aide: Sir I have a cell phone....... Bush: I like phone booths! Call me old fashioned! *Bush rushes to the nearest phone booth where he removes his shirt to reveal a red and yellow S. Bush completely changes with nobody on the street noticing him. Then as Super Man he leaps to save the day.* That's what should've happened........
  22. Actually I have a problem with most any changes they do to comic book characters. I like them the way they are in the comic book and I see no reason why they can't just transfer them from comic to screen as is. And don't give me bullshit about it looking absurd in a movie. If you think about half the shit that happens in most movies it's absurd and non-realistic. Not to mention we're talking about COMIC BOOK SUPER HEROES! I fail to see how you can say "Oh my god it'll look so unrealistic if we put this guy in yellow tights on the screen! Nevermind the fact he has claws and can heal really fast......." I'm a purist. They should remain pure to the work.
  23. Well I hate YellowCard but the people that like the band said they enjoyed it.
  24. *shifty eyes* Yeah that's it.......it's not that I don't pay attention to anything......I have sig's turned off.......
  25. Who else is on your list?
