The Twins winning the division is seen as a bigger accomplishment due to their underdog status. A small-market team that was almost contracted comes back to win 3 division titles in a row.
And if the Twins do win 13 divisions in a row and only manage 1 WS win, they'll get their own choker label, too. They've been lucky to have been overshadowed by the A's troubles in the ALDS, and since the A's have lost 4 straight times (including once to Minnesota), Oakland gets raked over the coals for choking over the Twins. That and the Moneyball bias.
