My name is Jon. That is the name we're missing. However, the posts I have here are so spread out that I can't even believe I got passed 2000. I remember the yellow board, though. That was terrible. "Yellow makes babies cry," was said by a few, and it became a rallying cry that resulted into the board changing to something more logical. I believe the glory days revolved around the board slowly moving away from the WWE folder and giving us the OJ Hart thread and others that made no sense but were humorous.

IGN once had a wrestling subsite. They had a good site. You would have quality show reviews two hours after every Monday night show. Jericho finally looks right. I don't recall his hair flowing quite that well before.

When I can't write anymore, I play video games. FIFA 2006 and TEW epecially. Anyways, I thought I would make the SWF into a fed that would take on the other Cornellverse companies and kick some ass. Now, I could make up everything as I go, but I would rather ask you guys to give me some vitals to make the game more realistic for me....and make it easier for me to build the game. Now, I was wondering if you could fill out some templates for me. I'll do my best to make it simple. Giving me percentages would be the best way for this to work. Rumble skills (brawling, hardcore, power, strong style and shoot fighting): Technical skills (mat work, chain wrestling, submissions): Flying skills (aerial abilities, flashiness): Sportz Entertainment (microphone, charisma, acting, looks, and superstar quality): Performance skills (wrestling basics, psychology, safety, consistancy, selling): Physical skills (athleticism, toughness, stamina): Extra shit (intensity, resilience, sitffness, menace, refereeing): Backstage skills (business, booking, respect): Oh...and give me an idea of how over you would be in the U.S. please be honest, lol...minumum of 65 out of 100 for the United States. If I get a good turn out with this, I will be forced to write this into a diary like I'm Frost...only without it being intentionally funny. As well...I have an upcoming fuvolution promo in the works, since I told GOdrea I was going to come back and do some... Sam Jacksontology...Samuel L. Jackson makes a new Hollywood religion.

An example of the craziness in Texas. There are two high schools in my town. We have been rivals since my school was built a few years ago. Every season, there is a rivalry game. This year, they had to hold it at Texas Stadium. Apparently, they fit 30000 people into the stadium. That was half of my town. It is crazy in Texas.

Finally...an NFL equal to the Portland Trail Blazers. Someone needs to tell Bill Simmons about this.

Bruiser has a point...frontrunners are a nuisance. My excuse is that I post sporadically anyways...and enjoy other people's opinions more than my own sometimes.

Can we talk about Mark Buehrle throwing 99 pitches in nine innings and then most likely completing a tenth now?

Well...I am a White Sox fan. There are so many questions and not many answers to this issue. So... Right or wrong, I'll take the win.

I purchased TEW last year, and I have to say that I prefer the original data to any update that was released on the internet because of a couple reasons. One is that I might get the "best" patch around, and I will be upset when some wrestler's are over rated and some are under rated. It would be easily a half an hour process to fix things to the way I like it. Meanwhile, with the original data, I don't have to do any changes to stats because these are imaginary characters that take the suspension of disbelief to a whole new level. Two is that having complete and real rosters does slow the game down. 2500-3000 workers along with like 90 promotions is not the way the game was meant to be played, as that shit grinds the game down to a halt. There were many less workers with the original data, which gave developers more time to give them worthy biographies. Also, certain wrestlers mean more with original data, as with the patches you have thirty guys who are exactly the same. Now, I do plan on purchasing the full version of the game later this week, even with some things that bother me about the game. Pros: No more Hollyweird Grappling Company...couldn't stand the name of that place. It is now Total Championship Wrestling and is run by the best in the game, Tommy Cornell. More emphasis was placed upon making someone with sports enterntainment skills more valuable. Mid Atlantic Wrestling is a brilliant new promotion in the game that is about teaching young wrestles how to work, and also brings back the element of territories. The cards that the computer puts up for their tv shows and PPVs make sense this time. There are no more six man tags headlining PPVs every month. The heavy hitters do the money making this time around. Pistol Pete Hall is wrestling... I like micro-management. The auto-fill function that gets rid of typing makes the game faster and puts a smile on your face. Cons: When putting on a filter to find a certain type of wrestler, some things cannot be filtered for. I have yet to discover if people wrestle til they are sixty and in pristine working condition. Also, I have worries about a guy starting out with a pyschology level of 30% is a 90% in one calendar year. Also, seeing a guy with 20% faculties of his head can still deliver every night makes no sense at all. 20% would be at about the level that Bret Hart is at right now, stroke and all IMO. I will have to cross my fingers on this one. The storyline editor makes me feel like a retarded monkey. Even though a certain performer retires, they shouldn't suddenly lose all of their abilities minus psychology. This is like castrating a man, but then let him keep his testicles in a jar. "Just so you know you could do it, little trooper." I loved bringing someone out of retirement. Some pictures of wrestlers are still missing, and I am sorry but if I'm about to pay thirty five dollars for this, I believe I deserve a polished product. Plus, pictures help give the guy your booking some character. This game looks much improved though.

It feels good to co-win an award. I need to add something to the thread now that I remember.

People even here in Dallas are draining the gas stations. I understand that prices will go up...but seriously quit panicing. The track of the storm has shifted to the point where we won't be FUBAR'd by rain. There is good news. Yesterday the storm was at 900 milibars (sp?) of pressure. Right now, it is at 916. Now while that is still low and very dangerous, the fact that it is weakening slowly is good. Maybe it can drop to a CAT 3 before landfall. Also, it looks like Houston is about to dodge a big bullet.
-
I live in the Dallas area, and the way this storm works is even making me worry. Some of the outer bands of rain are probably going to come up here as Rita makes landfall. Plus, it will most likely be a tropical storm when it hits us. This is going to be fun. I hope the nearby lake doesn't flood.

How do you approach match writing?
A Happy Medium replied to Bruce Blank's topic in Community/General
GOdrea pretty much used the same strategy I used. I always had to go in order. I was too lazy most of the time to outline or plan. Most of the match was just typing it out as I saw it happen. Now...my biggest problem was with the block style I used to write with, which was like so.... Action Commentary Action Commentary tilde + exclamation point + a pinfall that lasted two pages Before I vanished from here again a few months ago, I started using a story style, was made things better, and I found actually made my commentary better. The fact that GOdrea are very alike in our writing is not too crazy, as I believe of old fogies here goes GOdrea, IL, and me. I'm ramble, and ramble well. -
....Kennedy!!

Bitchin' card, guys. I especially look forward to ELM vs. Danny.

106. The Alliance versus X Force Nine 107. The fact that I, of all people, got a second chance...along with a third and fourth. 108. The Gund Arena 109. The single fact that the fed is soon entering its sixth year. -
BookDust vs. Vitamin C was the last time I cared about tag team wrestling. I say bring him back. He can still go...he just needs to be motivated and such.

I also nominate the TLC match...because then I can be part of an award. Also, all three matches were damned good. As for promos. Fuvolution had some good stuff, lol. -
