They're having their first show in the St. Louis area on Friday. It's only like a half hour away so I decided to go.

They used to watch it, my dad watched a bit of it now and again in the late 90's/early 00's. My mom will occasionally see me watching it (did before I moved out at least) and would lament that it seemed more athletic-based back in her day.

I might- MIGHT- catch Twilight on cable, if only for Catherine Hardwicke and Nikki Reed.

What do you guys think of Sayles? I'm taking a class on his films next semester, but I haven't seen any of them save Pirhanna. I took the class because of the instructor, but I feel I should at least get a gauge of what I'm in for.

Best example I could think of. He wasn't even that dumb at the beginning from what I remember, and near the end he was one dimension short of being a cartoon character.

And so you should. The film is amazing.

Paul Rudd was the reason I even went (that and it was a free screening pass). I figured even if the story was dumb (I had no idea Rudd wrote it) at least Paul Rudd would be able to salvage it. But the movie had me hooked at "stupid in three languages."

I hope they don't involve Helen Mirren because I took her weeks ago.

Just the lyrics don't do the song any justice though..sigh.. I can't read those without hearing Coach Z performing the song in my mind.

I like "Do They Know It's Christmas." The stuff I've been listening to most in terms of Christmas music is Sufjan Stevens' "Songs for Christmas" box set. I don't tend to dig on most of the Christmas music I hear outside of my iTunes, but mostly because what I hear is what my parents play, and my parents play Raffi and the Alabama Christmas album. And I have a CD by Dr. Elmo, the guy who did "Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer." It has the sequels, "Grandpas Gonna Sue the Pants off Santa" and "Please Don't Make Me Play That Grandma Song Again."
