Well, the 24 hours are up, so I guess I'll take my next turn. "Toys in the Attic" by Aerosmith Aerosmith was my favorite band for years. And while I admit their recent stuff isn't that great, their classic stuff still holds up. This album in particular. I'd have to have SOME Aerosmith with me if I was going to be stuck on a desert island, and this album is their best.

I like the Franco Battiato version of "Ruby Tuesday" from Children of Men.

Hm. That might have been the only rap album I would've taken. Oh well, on to my next pick. "Trout Mask Replica" by Captain Beefheart I usually go back and forth on which one I like better; this or Safe as Milk. I generally think Trout Mask Replica is the better of the two albums, but on a given day I'd usually rather listen to the more accessible Safe as Milk. But once in a while I'll go through Trout Mask Replica and think "yeah, this is a hell of an album." It is by no means accessible, but that's part of why I love it. I remember seeing a documentary on Beefheart, and someone said when he was working on the melodies for the album he was doing it on piano despite not knowing how to play, the idea being that he'd come up with more interesting stuff by using an instrument he didn't know how to play. I love that kind of mentality.

What the fuck indeed. I wonder if they'll change Bill and Ted into aspiring rappers or maybe turn them emo as that's what kids are into these days. But then they'd have to change it to "Bill & Ted's Dope Adventure" or "xBill & Ted's Adventure that Nobody Understandsx"

I've been watching them pretty much constantly since I was linked to them. My favorites are Jericho, Guitar Hero 3, and the GDC Awards.

Nice to see GTO and Genshiken are as good as I remember them being. Any word on when the second series of Genshiken episodes is getting a US release?

I absolutely loved King of Kong. I felt for Wiebe, Billy Mitchell was a cunt, and the rest of the gamers were freakish. I think it was Richard Roeper who called it a real-life Christopher Guest movie, which I think is spot-on.

The only _____ Movie I think was ever any good was the Kentucky Fried one. Scary Movie 1 wasn't THAT bad, but things got really unfortnuate after that.

Apparently my copy of Aerosmith's "Done with Mirrors" is from the original 1985 pressing of the CD and is a hard to find item. Neato.
