49ers "diversity" training video gets PR guy fired
Big McLargeHuge replied to Bored's topic in Sports
This sounds hysterical. Over the top, but hysterical. -
Problem is, the Giants still don't have a reliable 9th inning pitcher. The inevitability of Hawkins closing, when he shouldn't be, is what makes me nervous.
-
Oh, Lord. Latroy Hawkins is making his Giants debut in a tie ballgame. I'm holding my breath. A 1-2-3 inning, but with him and Benitez (when he comes back) in the same pen, I can't imagine any lead being safe.

Good stuff, though I was really hoping Lana would die when the chopper went down. Her character has been entirely boring since season 3. When Lana found the ship in the crater, my first thought was Doomsday or, like Kurt Angle Mark said, Supergirl. The Batman preview didn't really do anything for me and was kinda boring. I'm still not a must see as far as I'm concerned.

And X-Men 3's Beast will be played by...
Big McLargeHuge replied to starvenger's topic in Television & Film
they HAVE to recast Cyclops..they can't just leave him out...is that what you were saying? I think he's as essential to the X-Men as Wolverine is...and what the fuck does James Marsden have to do that's better than this? star in another shitty movie with Katie Holms and Nick Stahl? Marsden is in the new Superman movie. Supposedly, that's going to conflict with the filming of X-men 3. I say just recast Cyclops. I actually like the character, and Marsden didn't do anything with him anyway. Not that he had a lot to work with in the first place. And get rid of Storm. She's been useless the entire series. -
I concur. It hurts when she talks, but she's a total boner. And were games showed in the first montage of MS conference for the Xbox 1 or the 360?

It's weird seeing Morgan Webb and the other x-play idiot not being totally sarcastic and condescending and actually acting sincere... no, wait, there it is to end the segment. I spoke too soon.

Does every system in this Gen have to look like some generic car stereo? I thought Nintendo would do something different, but I guessed wrong.
-
I'd be real sad if his outings were dominant, but they were very frustrating to watch. Don't get me wrong, I fully expected it, but seeing an 'established dominant closer' struggle nearly everytime is really something else. With Benitez gone we've reverted back into the team that played spectacularly crappy in the first month and half of the 04 season. Only this time without Bonds. It's gonna get scary bad. Brian Sabean is the worst GM ever.

Steve Finley's Slam last year topping off the bullpen imploding in game 161, a day before my B-day. Although I was ecstatic when the Cards destroyed the Dodgers in the Division Series. Game 6. Fuck Felix Rodriguez. Fuck Dusty. Game 7. Fuck Livan Hernandez. Fuck Dusty, part two. I swear to god, if the Bums win the Series this year, I think I'll lose it. Seriously.

Put me down as another not digging the darker shade of red and the small shield. Not liking the shorter boots either, but in the end the suit really won't be that important. I was more disappointed in the new Batman costume.

If you're gonna hide a weapon under the ring, why not a fucking shotgun? That'd put your opponent down for good. Also, why the need to call people out to the ring? Can't you confront them backstage?

Star Wars. And even then, I'm not all that excited. Credit my jadedness to the previous 2 movies. Batman looks okay, but I doubt it'll be as fun as the Tim Burton original. Too me, at least.

I thought Moises Alou would be there driving in runs, instead of Michael Tucker grounding out weakly on the first pitch to start the 9th. I also thought Felipe Alou would put his best hitter (Edgardo Alfonzo if you can believe it) in the 3 spot of the batting order instead of a rookie hack who's been in the minors for like 8 years now. You know, things you would expect to maximize your chances of winning. Shit, I missed the Padres fatigues? I love those unis. They're horrible, but in a good way.

Giants lose AGAIN, with Noah Lowry getting his first career loss tonight, losing 2-1 to the D-backs. Lowry had insane trouble with his control early on before getting right later on, holding the Dbacks to 2 hits through six, but walking like 8 million or something. Gents get 11, yes, 11 hits, 1 run. I was hoping fans at SBC would riot after that pitiful game (and generally pathetic performance thus far in the season), but alas, as usual, they were completely apathetic to what was going on. I hate this team.
-
I'm also not digging the the premise. I understand they want this series to branch out from the Reeve-Donner series, but if they were to completely restart from scratch, I wouldn't be too upset. I'm still not too sure I like Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane.

Knuckles, wrists, knees, neck, back, ankles, big toes, sometimes elbows. Sometimes things will crack without me actually wanting them too. I'll be getting up from my seat and my elbow will crack. Weird stuff.

Christ the Giants suck. I need to follow a new team. Any suggestions? I'm thinking about the Marlins. Young team. Exciting. Great pitching. Good offense.

Don't know the name, but I know it's by the 5, 6, 7, 8s. Yes that's the name of the band. It's in Kill Bill Vol. 1, I think.
-
Marquis Grissom saves the bullpen tonight with a walk-off 3 run homer! Giants 10-Rockies 8. Fuck. Yes.
-
So Noah Lowry pitches 6 shutout innings for the Gents tonight, and gives way to the bullpen with two men on, and a six run lead. 3 outs later and it's an 8-6 Rockie lead. Unreal. I'm officially declaring this the WORST BULLPEN EVER~! I really hope the fans get on Brian Sabean's ass about the bullpen he's put together and the hacks he's got filling in for Alou and Bonds. Hell, for the entire team in general.
-
Jason Schmidt would be another example of a pitcher who relies almost exclusively on 2 pitches. He'll occasionally throw a curve, but it's almost always fastball & change-up.
-
The Giants look like they're intent on hitting into more DPs than they did last year. With Marquis Grissom and Pedro Feliz constantly trying to pull outside pitches and the overall lack of speed on this team, I think they can make it. Brett Tomko's getting no run support whatsoever. These guys are completely lost without Bonds. This seasons (and next probably) is going to be ugly.

I was generally happy with those who went over, except Rey. I wound driving up to Berkley to run an errand 20 minutes before show time, so I missed the opening 2 (3?) matches. Glad UT went over Orton, since Orton sucks. More wacky reversal spots from Orton, but they looked good. I really liked the Chokeslam/RKO spot and actually thought Orton was going over. Angle/HBK is getting way overrated by the IWC, it seems. *****? The beginning was the drizzling shits that didn't build to anything substantial. The rest of the match were the run of the mill sports entertainment spots of both guys hitting their big moves, then kicking out of eachother's finishers until the drawn out finishing sequence. The match was fun after they ditched the boring headlock sequence, but the finish didn't do anything for me. Yeah, Michaels tapped, but all of us watching were looking at our watches wondering when he'd fucking tap already. Good stuff, didn't suck or anything, but I was expecting more. Ladder match was MOTN for me. Shelton looked amazing in the match. HHH/Dave was about what I expected. Right guy went over. Though we didn't pop huge for Dave like we did for Benoit last year. The finish for Cena/JBL completely came out of left field. I was fully expecting the two to trade finishers for another 5 minutes. I was glad they shied away from that aspect of the main event formula. The match was bad, and the crowd was surprisingly quiet for the match, but I was happy Cena went over. Haven't bothered to review my tape to watch the other stuff.

Cobain - I'm a huge Nirvana fan. George Harrison - Again, I'm a huge Beatles fan. Nowhere near as sudden as Lennon's, but I wasn't alive for his death.
