I thought it (FG) was fairly funny when it would keep a semblance of a plot, and the cutaway jokes were, you know, jokes. Now it's over half cutaway jokes, and they're not even jokes. It's just straight-faced references to old cartoons, or the characters acting out a scene from a musical. Oh the hilarity. Stewie Griffen, the untold story is one of the worst things I've ever seen. I can't believe King of the Hill is still on. Never been funny. Rednecks LOVE that show for some reason though. I'm sorta surprised the Simpsons people haven't hung it up yet. They have to realize the quality is dropping, and I'm sure they've already made scads of money. I'm surprised NewsRadio lasted 5 seasons (well, 4.5). Although I love it, it got pretty terrible ratings. (I seriously can't fathom why) Plus, of course Phil Hartman sadly died. I think they should have done that touching, wonderful "Bill Moves On" episode as a tribute to Phil, then let the show die. It certainly couldn't have been fun to make after that. I can't believe ER is still on. Not a single original cast member left, and unlike L&O, the show's been going downhill for a long time.

Everything I've heard from it so far (just 3 songs) has been very good.

Happy Time Harry (who apparently is David Cross, uncredited), and MC Pee-pants are probably my favorites. I take a giant drill and bore straight down to hell. Realeasing evil demons from their sleep-forever spell, so the can walk upon the earth, and get more situated and sell the diet pills that MC Pee-pants has created!

I don't think anything will beat the Kevin Bacon death, though. Gruesome, realistic, and totally unexpected.

It is a really hard show to get into. It has a HUGE fucking cast. And yes, Stringer's a fucking pimp.

You got a tape source? I just checked Wild Pegasus tapes, and they no longer have the Champion's Carny '95 it seems. Schneider Comps are in general, awesome, to put a plug in. Gave me a lot of great matches. EDIT: And I think I just don't like/get lucha. I've seen some of the supposedly best matches in lucha, and, um, I just don't get it. I love the fans' passion. That's about it.

As I said, I think Champion's Carny 95 is awesome. Ok: You have the big 4. Misawa is THE MAN. The guy to beat, even though, IIRC Hansen is the champ at this time. Kobashi/Kawada/Misawa/Taue. You can't go wrong with any of these matches, although some are inconclusive. And any of these four v Akiyama is going to be good too. As I said. there's a 60 minute 3-way tag which I, personally really don't like. All you need to know for the final is: Misawa is the man in AJPW. He has a legit broken face courtesy of Kawada. It builds on thne previous Misawa/Taue match wonderfully. I have the whole thing, pretty good quality, from a really great tape source, which. regrettably, I know not the name of. Wild Pegasus tapes? Let me look this shit up.

And what's your favorite/best match Chris? Well my Favorite (subjective) match will probably always be Owen/Bret WMX for the simple fact it was the first great match I saw. I think my best match (objective) is Hokuto/Kandori, though. That ending is awesome, and is sometimes mimmicked, but never equalled IMO. So, just to make it clear, Misawa beat Jumbo one-on-one twice?

OK Let's ask about puro instead of pissing in the wind, 'k WP? I am having a dumb moment. I seem to remember that Misawa beat Jumbo only once. I also seem to remember that he pinned him, and submitted him with the facelock (which would become important in the Taue '95 Champions Carny matches, where he put the face lock on Misawa's broken face) Which is right? Keep in mind I haven't been avidly watching Puro since '00, so I'm hazy. Did Misawa beat Jumbo once or twice?

Sorta, yeah, but the 'black guys slangin drugs' were in many ways sympathetic. It's a very 'shades of grey' show. And at least half the cops/administration were black. Most of the good cops were black, too. I'm just getting into it, but it's a terrific show. Probably because it was created by the guy who wrote Homicide.

One thing about Baba that makes me shake my head in admirance, is that, even when in the 90's, the young guns were selling his (IMO) silly-looking offense like crazy, he still took some brutal, stiff shots. I guess a sort of rough analogy would be Flair today. Using his legacy to get the young guys over.

Isn't there a tag match with Misawa/Akiyama v Kawada Taue from 96 or 97 that's supposed to rival Misawa/Kobashi v Kawada Taue? Either way, I'll reiterate that the Champion Carny 95', besides the 60 minute 6-way is the best way to get into heavyweight AJPW puro. I watched it with a friend who was new to puro, completely, and he ate up Kpobashi/Taue and both Misawa/Taue's with a spoon. Fucking great show. Baba, though, is sort of embarassing. Speak of the devil, what Baba matches are great that are on tape? The guy is NOT that big, his offense is laughable, surely there's are reason he' was revered by the crowd?

I don't think I've watched a Puro heavy match since '98, aside from Tenryu/Muta. I just wanted to say Puro has the best entrances ever. #1 Probably being Chono with the low intro, then: "What y'all niggas want to do?" *crazy organ music* #2 Magnum Tokyo. Great entrance in general, but the male symbol fucking the female symbol is possibly one of the funniest things I've ever seen, ever. It's so simple, and yet ridiculously dirty. Speaking of which, I really like CIMA. I don't think I've ever seen him in a great match, I don't think I've ever seen him in a really bad match. Just really like him. The Iconoclasm fucking rules. I really have no idea why DBZ is so popular. For a show that's ALL fighting, and virtually no character development, it's tremendously boring due to the massive amount of filler. The Cell saga is probably the best because it has the least amount of filler. It's about three times as long as the Buu saga in the manga, yet they last the same amount of time in the anime. THere's something wrong with that. The best think I've seen out of DBZ, anime-wise, by FAR is the special in the alternate future with Trunks and Gohan vs. androids 17 and 18. It's really, really good.

The movie's also a lot cheaper! I dunno, I found Guld to be completely sympathetic.

I've always thought Spidey would beat Bats one-on-one in more cases than not. The reason? His traps aren't really going to work owing to the Spider Sense. Plus Bats is not physically strong enough to quickly break out of the webbing, letting Spidey score a nasty blow. The only weapon I see really working well is the sonics, which I think I've seen him use once. Well, you can always say Batman vs. Dr. Manhattan. Taskmaster vs. Deathstroke? Namor vs. Wonder Woman?

The movie is basically the OVA spliced together, excising some footage and adding a few minutes of new stuff. I think the movie's a little more sympathetic to Guld, but they're pretty interchangeable.
