  1. As an aside, I can't watch amateur wrestling anymore. Every time I do, it's like "He's wide open! Put a Kimura on him!"
  2. Ragingfear's cartoon reminds me of -=Mike
  3. At the very least, it'll be entertaining. Has Brock been training in submissions/takedowns at all? My money's on Sapp, I don't think he's used to trying a takedown when someone's trying to take his head off. Plus I heart Sapp. What are the rules for the fight? This may be the biggest matchup of pure physical freaks ever, though.
  4. I just bought the season 3 DVDs. This show was so great. The first episode in the season is probably the best, though. (Matthew's moustache, Jimmy runs for president) All in all, Season 2 had a lot of great Bill eps, Season 3 has a lot of great Jimmy eps. Although season 3 is where Bill starts to get hilariously creepy (good times...) The commentary on the first two seasons is better, they got pretty much all the actors back, and almost every ep seems to have a commentary. I don't mind not as many commentaries on season 3, but the first half of all the writers' commentaries is them trying to figure out which fucking episode it is. It's like, someone hand them a synopsis!

    Oh ,man

Doctors are retards. I had a narcotic drug prescribed to me. Good times. Only it was literally. LITERALLY six times what I should have been taking. Doctoros are hacks. When I lost my short-term memory, I got driven to the hospital. He has litereally prescribed me six times what i needed. Doctors are fucking quacks. When I got to the Hospital: the doctor: Why on earth did he prescribe you so much? Two days of blackout. Good times.
  6. I've heard that about HxH, too. Just as an aside, the guy who does Bleach is amazing. He defubuteky has his style, bvut he makes eveyone look unique, Same with Zombie Powder, which was his previous efforort. Caveat of caveats: Don't discount Gundam Zeta, or Char's Counterattack, just 'cause it looks sorta crummy. It's Alsmost Shakespearean.
  7. I think almost any 'fighting' series is superior in manga form. Yu Yu Hakusho, Fist of the North Star, Dragonball (Especially, the Frieza fight was an eternity) Flame of Recca, even Kenshin, which is a good anime. The ultimate of this might be Berzerk, which is a good anime (If you get through a couple agonizingly slow eps) but it's like 1/5th of the manga, maybe less. Bleach is equally good in anime and manga form, IMO. I think EVA is overrated. That certainly doesn't mean it's bad. Top 20 animes ever in my book, but in my book Bebop owns it. Shinji is such a fucking little shit. He just is. He IS a realistic character put into that situation, but not one I want to watch. Other gems: Saber Marionette J (Absolutely hilarious at points, GREAT ending) Blue Seed is unspectacular, but very good. Key the Metal Idol Macross Plus (More a movie, almost) Trigun (starts out too slow, when it gets going, it kills) Slayers, Slayers Next, don't much care for TRY If you don't like Maison Ikkoku, and you've seen/read it all, you don;t have a romantic bon in your body. Just saying. If I were to point to something that MAKES a series for me, it's the climax/ending. Tylor/Bebop/Escaflowne/Saber Marionette J all had great endings, often great anime fizzles. SEE: FLCL (IMO) EVA, most Rumiko Takahashi works. I like an ending, if I've invested enough time to watch this stuff. Oh, also Outlaw Star was pretty Swell.
  8. Well, she was terrible in KH2. Haven't seen the FF:AC dub yet. IN KH her line readings were entirely composed of whispering breathily. Lastly: In terms of games sold, FFVII is by FAR the most popular.

  10. In restrospect, I would've played it on hard. But I rent games more often than not, now. Dragoon-boy is an awesome boss though. I'd like to see him in the colloseum. Maybe I'm not so good, but the first two timed I fought him I was like HOW do I even get NEAR him.
  11. I mean Seothiroth slashed him, he was clearly mortally wounded, the temple collaplsed, Elesna clearly made reference to him being dead. Still loved the movie.
  12. I don't minf Rufus surviving so much, but Tseng was CLEARLY dead. CLEARLY.
  13. Someone's probably said this before me, but I only read about 1 pages of the thread. Although Leinart is probably disappointed to be a 10th rounf pick, the Cards are SUCH a perfect place for him to be. Warner will teach him. He has arguably the 2nd best receiving corp in the NFL. Also, while people may bitch about AZ's line, they have a bunch of meaty boys who excel at pass-bloccking. They're just not good at the run.
  14. Ive got quite a few good recomendations in this thread. I so have to check out Mazinger Z now. That said, I strongly, strongly suggest Vision of Escaflowne. (subbed) Fast-paced, amazing score, the best villain *subbed* ever in Dilandau. It's phenomenal. Great action sequences, and just to reiterate, the best music ever. You can biu the whole thing for cheap now. Plus the most amazing twist ever, and not one that's totally arbitrary. Great climax. Most people won't check out Tylor, c'est la vie. It's so fucking great. IN terms of funny? Azumanga, Slayers NEXT, first two seasons of Ranma. The very first Slayers OVA is fucking hysterical. "Did you pole yourself with your spiked shoulderguards" "Weep Weep"
  15. Allstar Batman and Robin was #1 back in the days of yore when it was getting put out, right? Either way it sucked. DC's doing quite well IDentity Crisis did well, OMAC and Villains UNited did well. (Days of Vengeance should have done better it was fun) Rann Thanagar didn't do to well, IIRC, but then I didn't like it. And of course I think Identity Crisis will spurn new interest in the OYL comics. I've already bought, like, 6. Bring on Secret Six and Shadowpact!
  16. Ranma 1/2 was really, really funny for a while, but took a shit fairly quickly, as season 3 was OK, and the rest was filler. Maison Ikkoku is great. Never seen Mazinger. If it really is as good as oters say, then I'll check it out. As to what got me into anime? Watching Akira when I was like, 13. MInd-blowing. Jeez, has no one seen Vision of Escaflowne? Although that's a series that MUST be seen subbed.
  17. The best part of the movie: Rude getting his shades stepped on, inspiring the only facial expression he makes for the whole movie. (abject horror). NExt scene, Reno and the clones are talking, and in the background, you see Rude pull out a new pair of shades and put them on. Genius.
  18. I don't like pancakes, waffles, or French toast. If I'm going to have carbs for breakfast, it's going to be shredded wheat or Oatmeal or Cream of wheat. I can't stand sweet at breakfast. I love a good omelette, or a little fried eggs with a couple strips of bacon. One breakfast place near me has the best omelette ever: The gyro. Gyro meat, feta, tomatoes and onions with tatziki sauce and pita instead of toast. It's delicious.
  19. I couldn't get into Wing, though I can see its appeal. Trust me, if you can get past the animation, Zeta Gundam and Char's Counterattack are where it's at. 08th MS team is swell, too.
  20. One series that I always recommend, that no one's seen in "The Irresponsible Captain Tylor." It's a humorous take on all the space opera animes, and is really funny. It also perhaps the best climax ever in an anime, set to "William Tell's Overture" It's about basically the luckiest man on earth. He's lazy, lecherous, incompetent, yet kindhearted and naive. (Vash the Stampede was very similar to him, only more angsty). He constantly gets out of jams seemingly by pure luck. Is he lucky or an idiot savant? The animation sorta sucks, but it's a great show. Haven't seen the dub, so I don't know if it's any good. My top 5 series of all time: 1: Vision of Escaflowne 2: Azumanga Daioh 3: Cowboy Bebop (best dub ever, too) 4: The Irresponsible Captain Tylor 5: Hm, tough. I'll say Zeta Gundam. The Bleach Manga is great. I like Champloo, haven't seen it all yet.
  21. Robin's pants remind me of Videodrome. Or Alien.
  22. Matt and Trey keep exposing themselves as the biggest spoiled fucking babies in the world. I would enjoy the show if I could watch it without envisioning Matt and Trey throwing a shit-fit. Now, the term 'shit-fit' is literal. Just fucking sad, in my mind.
  23. http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/0424061sheen1.html Cheese and fucking rice.
  24. The thing is, Aaron Rogers is going to thrown into the fire. Favre is a legend, for good reason, and they're never going to hand the reigns to his rookie replacement halfway throuhg the season, unless a cataclysmic injury occurs. Sorry, X, I don't see the Packers being better than 6-10 next season.
  25. You entirely right. There's just the thing of DOING it.
