  1. At least that match had the 'holy shit' bump factor. I stand by my statement that the Iron Man is the most overrated. It's frequently called the following things- -One of the best wrestling matches ever -A great 'technical' match -The best Wrestlemania match ever -The best Bret Hart match ever -The best Shawn Michaels match ever And it isn't any of those things. I find it sad that this match gets so much attention and the superior Bret/Shawn Survivor Series 1992 match doesn't. Took the words out of my keyboard.
  2. Chalk up a vote for Rowdy Roddy Pipers' Greatest Hits. Pure entertainment for 90 minutes.
  3. Anyone else think he may help Arnold out on his campaign?
  4. I'm still hoping they rerun the Backlund/Snuka cage match so I can tape it. I did however capture the Hennig/Ventura match which was kinda cool considering the Minnesota connection. I've said this before, but they really oughta scrap Confidential and just rename it From the Vault. Classic matches, interviews, and I wouldn't mind keeping the Confidentialish segments on the legends. They could also keep the current 'superstars' to introduce some of the segments and give their 2 cents on it. Put Bobby Heenan in the studio with Gene Okerlund, plus it would allow 20-30 minute matches to be shown in its entirety with commercial breaks weeding their way in. Reruns would be unncessary because they have a seemingly inifinte amount of footage at their disposal (WWF, WCW, ?AWA?, ect.). They'd only have to fill 40 minutes a week after commercials. Hell, I'll volunteer my services to go through the video archives. They can also do tribute episodes which would focus in on one wrestler/tag team for the entire hour. C'mon Vince, give it 6 weeks and watch the ratings rise . . . Well, I'd watch it, at least.
  5. If you do get a list, I'd might be interested in a couple.
  6. Who failed to enter the Royal Rumble 2003 due to a loss to fellow former WWE Superstar JEFF HARDY.
  7. Exactly. Although I still think Benoit's reign would be 5 weeks at maximum.
  8. And BAH GAWD, what is Jackie Gayda doing with Rico?!? He's old enough to be her father for GOSH SAKE!
  9. I meant to say Joe Marky boy who watches rasslin once a month. He's the guy that bothers you if Stone Cold is gonna wrestle again, and how the Rock throws punches like a pussy. That's the guy who'll probably gobble up this dvd.
  10. Those top 5 matches actually sound very good.
  11. Other than my hate for HHH, my main annoyance is not necessarily that Vince is on the shows, but that he portrays himself as physically imposing to the other wrestlers. How DUMB is that?!? If Vince would act terrified of his wrestlers (Ok, he doesn't have to shit himself if Spanky gets wordy with him), I wouldn't mind him so much. He gets in his employees' faces and constantly puts himself over on sheer brute, despite the fact that he moves around like a 57 year old man (Oh wait, he is a 57 year old man). I don't mind him being partnered with Brock as long as Brock does ALL the work, and McMahon just plays traffic cop. Bah, I'm done now.
  12. Believe it or not, chances are a Benoit and/or Guerrero Family dvd wouldn't sell half of what Trish's will. The WWE doesn't market their product towards wrestling fans, they cater to entertainment fans (aka everybody they can). So, the average Joe off the street is more likely to pick up a dvd with a blonde, bodacious hottie on the cover than one with Benoit grinning with his one missing tooth on the cover with a title that reads: Chris Benoit, Tootless Aggression!
  13. I would imagine neither would get the strap any time soon, but for some reason I can imagine Benoit getting the belt first and transitioning it to the next Heel Hoss O' the Hour.
  14. As always, thanks to Cawthon's site: WWF @ Richfield, OH - Coliseum - June 25, 1989 (I was 6 at the time) Mark Young defeated Iron Mike Sharpe The Barbarian defeated Jim Neidhart Jimmy Snuka defeated the Honkytonk Man WWF Tag Team Champions Demolition defeated the Big Bossman & Akeem Mr. Perfect defeated Koko B. Ware Bad News Brown defeated Paul Roma WWF World Champion Hulk Hogan defeated Randy Savage I have an MSG tape of Mark Young; he was acrobatic and green. It was hard to buy him as a professional wrestler at the time. One half of the Hart Foundation comes to town, and it's Jimbo. Oy! I was a huge mark for Jimmy Snuka, so I'd imagine this was a markout match for me. The Demos/Towers match was the match I was most looking forward to. I bought a Demolition poster and was actually a big fan of Slick and Akeem's gimmick. The Bossman added the mean streak that the team needed. Mr. Perfect comes to town and, in what I would imagine, a quick squash for the Perfect One. Brown/Roma . . . Another ****1/4 classic. And, the MAIN EVENT . . . I remember the place going ballistic for this one. However, due to what had happened in weeks/months passes, I couldn't suspend my belief long enough to think Savage had a chance. That, and having my mom profess that Savage didn't have a chance because it was the last match of the night didn't help either. Boy, did she go all out to ruin a perfectly nice evening.
  15. Whoa, I didn't mean to start it at $30, but if it starts low, the bids may pick up down to the last minute. By then, the going price could be very high. Note the word 'could'.
  16. I loved the Shiek entrance... "By the time he gets to the ring, it will be Wrestlemania XXXVII!" --well, probably not the exact number, but same joke. I need to re-watch X-7 now... And I can't blame him if he hates Tony--imagine hanging around him all the time? You would too, and most of us can't stand him even commentating. I think he hates Hogan, though, way more. Hating Hogan was a work. Heenan felt that working with Hogan = $$$! And $$$ is good!
  17. July 1989: I was 6 at the time and already a HUGE fan. My parents took me to the Richfield Coliseum to see Hulk Hogan vs. Randy Savage ina WrestleMania V rematch. Also featured was a WWF Tag Team Title Match between Demolition and the Twin Towers. I think Hillbilly Jim squashed Bob Bradley, other than that, I can't remember much from it. I did buy a Demolition poster that I regretfully threw out in 1993-1994ish when I was off wrestling since I had no cable and no wrestling aired in my area. DAMMIT!
  18. So what's the Match made in Heaven?
  19. Ernie Ladd next week . . . I wouldn't imagine him looking good in Stillettos.
  20. I can imagine Funaki going up to Angle and letting him know that women traditionally massage the men in Japan.
  21. I sure hope kayfabe lives on through John Cena.
  22. That wasn't the Brooklyn Brawler.
  23. Painful Olympic genetalia is NEXT!
