  1. I miss how in those days, kids in the crowd would be traumatized by certain events/gimmicks (snake bite, Undertaker, Papa Shango, ect).
  2. The media-loving Johnny Nitro forgave his ex-tag team partner Joey Mercury and, like The Hardys, decided to reunite MNM. Why? In order to accept Jeff and Matt’s open challenge issued at the December to Dismember press conference. The ECW pay-per-view, live from the James Brown Arena in Augusta, Ga., next Sunday, will be the first time Nitro and Mercury have teamed together since Judgment Day in May when they lost their WWE Tag Team Championship. Still, Nitro believes the chemistry MNM had is still alive and well. “Every family has differences,” said a smiling Nitro. “Brothers fight; we fight hard, but that’s no big deal to us.” The wounds from the past have been patched and healed, which has given Mercury a new zest. And with the daunting challenge of taking on the dynamic Hardys, MNM will need all the zest they can get. “MNM is back for one night only, and the most prolific, young tag team in WWE history will rise again,” said Mercury. “The future is now and the future is looking bright.” Nitro added, “Mercury and I are there for each other, and when MNM comes back at December to Dismember we’re coming to dismember The Hardys. We’re going to deck the halls with guts of Hardys, fa--la--la--la--la... b--tch.” On ECW on Sci Fi, and at Survivor Series, The Hardys have proven that they haven’t lost a step in their hiatus. At December to Dismember will MNM live up to their words and do the same? From WWE.COM . . . about as much of an explanation as we'll get.
  3. I must admit I chuckled after it was confirmed he eliminated someone from the other team and Michaels uttered "So we're doing good right?"
  4. IIRC, that stip only applied to Doring/Roadkill. In Aug of 2000, the FBI put their tag team career on the line when they ended up defeating Mikey/Tajiri at the Hammerstein for the tag titles.
  5. At least the graphic spelled it "Hardies" w/ no Z.
  6. That's right. He lost to Kevin Sullivan at Fall Brawl 1994.
  7. WWE must not like competition in the dvd market . . . least of all from Seinfeld.
  8. I must have enjoyed Benoit/Chavo much more than others here. A good, crisp match w/ a sharp way of locking in the crossface. I could give a shit about Umaga so him not making it to the end didn't bother me in the slightest. Kennedy was put over fairly strong as he did get to beat Taker down after the bell before he got too cocky w/ his victory announcement. Not a great ppv, but I honestly haven't enjoyed a ppv this much since Great American Bash (really can't remember much about the show other than thinking it was good). Couldn't sit through SummerSlam, Unforgiven, or Cyber Sunday.
  9. I marked out for the return of Lt. Bookman. I also loved how Kramer was so optimistic about going to jail.
  10. Here's the Indians coming back from 12 down to beat the Mariners in 2001: http://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/B08050CLE2001.htm
  11. Forgot about the reversal system. That was very slick indeed especially when used w/ guys like Race, Von Erich, ect.
  12. Couple quick questions I asked in another topic that I should have asked here (X-Box 360 version): - Are Survivor Series (elimination tags) in the game? - How many people can be in the ring at a given time in a Royal Rumble match?
  13. While I thought Legends of Wrestling I and III for X-Box were horrendous, I did love LOW II. The shoot interviews were a nice touch plus they had 4-on-4 Survivor Series matches . . . Wahooooo!!! And the gameplay wasn't too bad. Not great, but not bad when it wasn't buggy. <---- Virtual Survivor Series and Royal Rumble mark. BTW, is Survivor Series matches available on Smackdown vs Raw? Also, how many can be in a Royal Rumble at a given time? Thanks.
  14. The problem with that is that Philly will shit on that. It wouldn't be Savage/Liz where Savage just lost his job after a hard fought match and Liz, the beautiful girl that he wronged came back to him. The best way to wrap it up is doing this Have Edge walking from the showers in a towel looking tired and making a reference to getting laid in the shower to Orton when Lita comes in gear heading to her match and Edge blows her off. This establishes that Edge is sleeping with someone behind her back and that Edge is still a dick. While Lita heads towards the ring, she bumps into Matt who says "good luck" in a sincere manner. Lita goes in, jobs clean and does a respect angle with Mickie. Lita comes out with Rated RKO but in the process "accidently" trips Edge causing him to eat a pin from Matt or anyone for that matter. Edge is pissed and chases Lita around, screaming at her. Matt steps in and lays him out. Matt and Lita stare down and Lita smiles and simply nods her head and walks away. No fake sentimential reunion/kiss. Just an acknowledgment from Lita that she's sorry for everything she did and it's closure with Matt/Lita and Edge/Lita. Unfortunately, if they go w/ the feel-good route, they'll have Lita nutshot Edge and call it a career.
  15. The only thing Sabu has going for him is the fact that they can keep him in ECW and completely job him out to give others a tad more credibility (Knox, Thorn, Daivari, ect). That way, he'd still be getting a paycheck. He sure did job to Umaga like a loyal trooper.
  16. If someone would have given up his place in line for Flair or Piper, he'd have heat for being a kissass.
  17. I forgot about how much I loved playing Survivor Series matches on WrestleMania Challenge. Only 3-on-3 but still great!
  18. I actually get a kick out of playing Anarchy Rulz from time to time. It has parking lot brawls, inferno matches, and it's always fun to whip your opponent into barbed wire. Plus, it's kinda surreal hearing Joey Styles doing commentary for a video game. Too bad it was Gertner w/ him and not Cyrus.
  19. Meltzer has the rating at a 1.8
  20. It's interesting that JR and even King went out of their way to put Sabu over as a bonafied star despite the fact he was crushed and spiked.
  21. I still have visions of a lean, mean Giant coming to the ring at Fall Brawl 1995 leaping over the ropes 3 times (there was two rings) to get to Hogan. Incredible at the time.
  22. I was thinking the very same thing. But I guess RVD did set the table up in the first place if you really wanted to get nitty picky.
