They made the right call. That's where the real big game is tomorrow.

I actually think it'd be sad if Texas lost. None of the other teams in contention would really have a good chance, to be honest.

This has not been a good year for the Republicans.

That'd redeem him a pretty good bit in my eyes. Seriously. -

Like I say, the horrid mismanagement and general malaise we're seeing is what happens when businessmen have been running the country for the last twenty-five years. -
This doesn't make any sense <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sure it does. Bowls are all about all that traditional crap and sending the guys from your neighborhood to go beat up the guys from the other neighborhoods, not who the best of the best is.

I never heard of an Ohio State fan root for Michigan for the good of the Big Ten. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You don't cheer for the #1 rival though. Forgot that part. I still wish blowouts on Florida in the postseason.

Okay, so who's the dame.

But it was never good. Wouldn't ruining it be to make it an entertaining program, since it isn't by design?

The same who bitch about very real elements like conference prestige and fans' alliegances to them are the ones who want playoffs too, I'll bet. Conference homerism is part of college football guys, get over it. Go back to your whiny professionals.

And, to take this into the even more distant future, how does this War on Terror pan out once we're out of Iraq? When will the mission be complete in Afghanistan? I don't think we'll ever find Osama or his remains, ever. -

Couldn't we have just threatened Sadaam with being killed personally? I hate how this whole thing makes me wretch, until I say "hey, at least that guy's out of power." So confusing. I feel the problem was simply not going in with enough force. If we'd gone in there with the kind of might that would have been warranted if we were, say, trying to capture the real terrorists in Afghanistan (real number for sake of discussion: 300,000-400,000) then we would probably be looking at the current number of 150,000 as not all that bad, and probably just another stepping stone in a complete withdrawl by the middle of 2007 or so. A greater number involved in the invasion would mean plenty of logistical support to go around, an ability to occupy areas after completing offensives, not to mention common Iraqis being a hell of a lot more frightened of enlisting as a terrorist. Not that they'd have to be frightened, a greater budget that would go with a greater force would lead to the place being a lot more stable in day-to-day affairs than it is now. Business could operate normally thanks to the added security, and the understanding with such a huge number of foreign soldiers is that they're going to pull as many of them out as quickly as possible, otherwise it would start looking dangerously colonial. But hindsight and all. I honestly don't see us out of there until New Year's Day 2008 if we really want to ensure a solid foundation for the new Iraqi Republic. -
Well, I do love Milky in only the manliest, most platonic of ways.

And I like spinach too!

Ooh, I would adore it if we fired Sherman and got Mariucci. Favre would have to stick around for Mooch, even if Sherman's gone.

Gooooooooo Marshall!

Hey guys, you're just egging him on now. But guess what, DamaSault is making football not fun in here again. I blame him for my shocking turn on Tennessee earlier in the thread. I look like some sort of animal. Anyways, suspend him from this folder or these threads if that's even possible until the season. This is going to be intolerable by the time the major bowls roll around, and anyone can see that. But back to Tennessee. They're gonna mop the floor with Kentucky tomorrow, and it'll be awesome. It's their bowl game, and those blue-clad motherfuckers are the poor bastards that happen to be their opponent. People ragged on the Vols for not smearing them last year, so they're gonna do it this year on Kentucky's Senior Day. Guess what, it's our seniors' final game too. 21st win over the Wildcats in a row won't be too hard. And Texas is going to be beaten soundly by USC in the title game. This USC team is something you can't possibly hate on for anything besides them beating your team of choice, or if you like a Pac-10 team. Or anyone they've played since 2003. This is a team we're going to be talking about for years. Texas will probably give them the best fight possible, but USC is a fucking juggernaut. It won't be a blowout of last year's proportions, but there's going to be a very clear gap between the teams' talent and ability by halftime. Texas is definitely the #2 team in the country, but they won't finish #1. I just wish Fulmer would go on a diet during the off-season and get back to his 2004 season weight. That seemed to work. Shit, make the 1998 weight a project for 2007.

I love these gimmicks, but only once every couple'a weeks.

That was directed at Leelee re: her suspicion that I'd want her gone immediately like other PBPs.

See, I said you were better than before.

Something doesn't have to be the best for me to like it. Ask anyone who knows my taste in anything.

Haha, I forgot all about that one. These are littered all over the internet, created in various ways. Someone should post my Facebook one.

Man, fuck all'a y'all Detroit/Thanksgiving game haters. Can't we be happy with a game or two that isn't all about who the best is?

Okay man, but no one had better be telling me I'm overreacting if next season ends up a clusterfuck also.
