  1. Well, Dodges did cheat in the NHRA circuits for a while...
  2. Eh, we'll have to just not agree on this one. I liked it so much (especially the marquee showing the current match) that I even noted to the people I was with at the bar that WWE's art and design departments rarely disappoint. Art's too subjective to get into an argument over it.
  3. I thought the set was great. I was also glad to see that Batista effectively headed off most of the usual HHH/Flair chicanery just to help build that "heel on top is FINALLY going down" feeling. The Angle/Michaels match also had me literally marking out and just being totally drawn into what was going on. Complete eschewing of internet/backstage knowledge brought upon by another super-dramatic Michaels performance and a crowd that was going nuts not for one dude or the other, but just because the match kept getting better and better.
  4. They just told me not to watch it if I hated it so much. I feel like some of the super smarky smarks on this board when I'm over there, except they gush over EVERYTHING, while the people here will at least still have some mild complaints.
  5. This whole thing is awful.
  6. I liked it. No further detail, I was entertained greatly by almost the whole thing.
  7. HYPERELITISTS UNITE
  8. For the last fucking time, he's trying to be Lemmy from Motorhead, not Harley Race.
  9. Samoans aren't white if you didn't notice. The topic is about African Americans specifically. Samoans aren't white, but they aren't that either.
  10. Rock's 50%. Not the same. Besides, he plays much more to his other Samoan half.
  11. I've determined that the reason I don't like the EU is that Star Wars is so visually-intensive that books just don't grab you as much. Odd, because I normally take reading over watching stuff any day.
  12. I thought Rey was Robin at XIX. Shows how much I know about comics.
  13. It actually is. Football is legitimately one of the most physically demanding sports out there, proven through actual research and all that. Don't be a smartass. Football and Baseball are the most exciting for me to watch, but I have to give Baseball the edge when it gets to the postseason. Any ol' normal game I'll watch football, but if a (tightly contested) playoff baseball game is on, forget about it. That's in terms of the pros though. College football tops both of them in my mind.
  14. Yeah, I was afraid it was a case of curiosity gone wrong.
  15. I don't know, but I don't think I'd want to be liked by them.
  16. After people got on me and other worriers a little more, I posted this:
  17. And I could connect the politics of Florida right now with the rise to prominence of the Bush children and the Republican Revolution to that and the Contract with America to that and the backlash against the 70s to the election of Reagan and... You get the idea. Everything's connected, but those connections must be ignored if you're going to concentrate on anything specific.
  18. There's still a lot of guys left. I consider Ali a huge figure of the century, transcending sport. There's still three US presidents left alive of that era. Mandela. How many of those still alive are still doing what they're known for? That's the point they were trying to make. Even in this largely secular world, the office of the Pope is still perceived as arguably a bigger deal than any other leader. Those great men and women who are still alive have gone into private lives and don't carry much influence anymore.
  19. Yes, I saw you over there. I even shouted you back. Ah, sorry, must've missed it. That place is way too busy to attempt to carry on a one-on-one exchange. I love how some called me a troll or "grumpy fan" because I was underwhelmed by the acting.
  20. On CBS they've got a point, it's the last big figure of the 20th Century that was left. Man, I miss the 1900s.
  21. Which is exactly why your life is so shitty, you filthy heathen. What is Flow Theory? I think I know, but I'm not 100% sure. He believes in the Force, but came up with a more socially acceptable term for it. From my LiveJournal (sorry to derail this, Mr. John Paul):
