Two silver linings:
1) It's still hand-drawn.
2) The only reason it's upsetting is that they're meant to be descendants of the current WB cartoon crew. If this were a series all by itself with no connection other than people saying how the characters remind them a little of the originals, it wouldn't be all that bad.
The modern attempts at the 30s-60s cartoon shorts have actually been pretty good. The voices aren't the classic ones, but they're still enjoyable, especially the one that was released in 1990 (can't remember the name) about Bugs' 50th anniversary.
EDIT: And talking about the old ones, I always thought What's Opera, Doc? was overrated, but Duck Amuck has fortunately overtaken it as the best one ever in books and lists on the subject recently. It's probably in my top five, but not my favorite. The Slappy Squirrel MGM cartoons are criminally forgotten many times.
Did anyone else ever want to see a free-for-all between the WB, MGM and Hanna-Barbera characters? If not a rumble, just a piece where they're all in it.
