Hey, you fuckers can hate on me all you want, BUT DON'T NO-SELL THE ZEPPELIN REFERENCE. "Kashmir" owns your souls.

All will be revealed. [/Kashmir]

Ok, let's start talking about who we want to keep, axe, and maybe even bring on as GMods. First, what about folder-specific mods, like we had for a while? The busier folders could have folder mods, which would mean we'd need fewer GMods. After recent events, the fewer people who have AdminCP access, the better, IMO. Discuss.

I still work for The Man.

Well, the Ironbirds certainly hit the skids.

One and Only Star Wars Geekiness Thread
Dr. Tom replied to Black Lushus's topic in Television & Film
I saw the midnight showing last night, after swearing I wasn't getting duped into it a third time. This time, though, I didn't buy any tickets, but lucked into one when someone had to back out and couldn't make it. I also won a Batman Begins poster during the trivia contest the theatre held before the movie started. It's definitely the best of the prequels, but there are some fundamental flaws in it, and I don't think Lucas redeemed himself at all. It's entertaining, though, and felt more like a Star Wars movie than the first two. I'm thinking 7/10. -
The Current Events folder. It's a lot like Hitler.

I've been out of town since the middle of last week. -
Mike, maybe you could make a post in Site Feedback, saying that the new server is in place and hosting is now available. I'm presuming there are pricing plans available for the hosting?

Lex had electro-shock therapy in season 3 that supposedly removed all his memories of the previous few months, including seeing Clark get hit by (and consequently, destroy) Morgan Edge's car in the previous episode. At the end, he told Clark he remembered how important Clark's friendship was to him and hugged him, but the camera showed a brief, knowing smirk. Realistically, Lex can't know, since I don't think Lex has ever known Superman = Clark Kent in all the years of the comics.

Your political compass Economic Left/Right: 2.25 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -1.44 About the same as before, IIRC. The scores might have changed a bit, but I'm still solidly in the Friedman quadrant.

RACIST letters terrorize college students
Dr. Tom replied to kkktookmybabyaway's topic in Current Events
hay i wnet to cathlic skool four 12 yeras and im smrt Ow, that hurt. Seriously, though, sending kids to Christian schools is fine, as long as they're not wacko fundie schools. I spent 12 years in Catholic school and got a very good education. I think a lot of people in my graduating class would say the same. -
This is just another piece of anecdotal evidence that supports my theory that children should be muzzled and shackled until age 8.

This thread is amusing, in a car accident sort of way.

Texas Legislators vote to ban gay foster parents
Dr. Tom replied to SuperJerk's topic in Current Events
Jews not being able to hold certain jobs in Nazi Germany != gays being disallowed as foster parents in Texas. I think this law is asinine, but so is that comparison. -
So it's YOUR fault all these illegals are getting in? Get your gun and go to work, hippie.

Heh, me too. That was some funny shit. I'm kinda torn on the amnesia episode next week. I tend to dislike hackneyed superhero plots, like the hero loses his powers, the hero switches bodies with someone, etc. Despite that, I thought the series has handled each of those episodes well (though I maintain the idea of Clark "losing his powers" or getting them transferred to someone else is absurd). By that standard, I'll probably like the amnesia episode. :-/

Rubbish x2. Interesting reads, I suppose... but still rubbish.

Oooh baby. I'm about 35 minutes NE of Baltimore, but I'll probably have a couch or something if you need it. Leave the drugs in your car, though.

So far, the response among the staff to footing the bill as a unit has been quite underwhelming. Dames, I think the Paypal option may be best.

http://forums.thesmartmarks.com/index.php?showtopic=69249 Really, I think he's going on about absolutely nothing. I think we can live without him as a moderator: we still have a good-sized staff, and he was basically a WWE mod because he was a site writer. I don't think he needs to be a GMod anymore. Thoughts?

PK loses the keys to the Admin Corvette for a week. Tsk tsk.

They have no use for anyone who's Black and happens to be conservative. Clarence Thomas? Dr. Rice? "Uncle Toms." If you're Black, conservative, and successful, the NAACP wants nothing to do with you. One would think an organization that is ostensibly about advancing the cause of Blacks in society would use people like Thomas and Rice as role models of a sort. Instead, they're sellouts to whitey. The NAACP wants their Blacks uneducated, young, and in the ghetto. That way, they can peddle their the-man-keeps-us-down propaganda to them and have a member for life.

HA! At least I'm not the only one who thinks Ratzinger bears a resemblance to Palpatine. Anyway, I think he reigns for 5-10 years (heck, maybe less, since he's already 78), then croaks, and a more progressive guy gets the nod. By that point, most folks who remember the days before Vatican II will be dead, and a link to old-school traditionalism will be broken. Ratzinger is believe to have little patience or use for Muslims, and does not appear very TV-friendly. That makes him an interesting choice to succeed JPII, since he deliberately reached out to many other world religions, and was an excellent pope for the Media Age because of his charisma and folksy appeal. Interesting though the choice may have been, it wasn't surprising at all.

And conveniently, Clark Kent returns at the same time, and still no one figures it out... I'd like to see how they're going to explain that. As a fan of Superman, I can't say I like the returning-after-being-gone-for-6-years premise.
