  1. I think we should make a list of all the referees that we have for the OAOAST. That way, we can use actual names, instead of always writing "The referee this" or "The referee that". So far, I've found that the referees we have used are: -Nick Soapdish -Charles Robinson -Earl Herbner -Nick Patrick -Thomas Rodriguez (Evil, Crooked Lightning Crew referee) Am I missing anyone?
  2. I was just thinking that perhaps next year, AngleMania V takes place in Texas, either at Texas Stadium or at the Alamodome, and the show would have a Western/Cowboy theme going, with a Western style set, Western parody commercials (sort of like the WWE WrestleMania 21 commericals with the wrestlers doing movie parodies, except the OAOAST superstars would do parodies of westerns), and "Cowboy" by Kid Rock being the theme song. The announcers and Michael Buffer would all wear cowboy outfits. We could call it OAOAST AngleMania V: Deep In The Heart Of Texas or OAOAST AngleMania V: The Cowboy Way or maybe AngleMania V: Hot And Saucy, Texas Style!
  3. I used to hate the Bulls when I was little, because they always used to beat the Knicks in the Playoffs. I have always liked Jordan though, even though he was one of the reasons the Bulls always defeated the Knicks. I use to hate the Pacers because I thought Reggie Miller was an obnoxious jackass. The Pacers defeating the Knicks in the '95 Playoffs didn't help matters. Now, I'm okay with them, and I root for them in the Playoffs now because I think they deserve to win just once, unless they are facing the Nets.
  4. Well, if PRL just did The Rock's moves and mannerisms, he would be seen as a Rock-ripoff. I do moves that The Rock doesn't do, like The Five Knuckle Shuffle, so that P.R. can have a vast moveset and doesn't come off like a Rock wannabe. Besides, The Rock isn't the only wrestler I look up to, even if he is the most obvious. I also take a bit from Shawn Michaels and Hollywood Hulk Hogan! Another good show, in a series of them. I love the Chicks Over Dicks eBay auction. That was awesome. Cappa is doing an awesome job as a heel. Hoff was right, there is this old-school vibe coming from him. I am enjoying Josie as HeldDOWN~! GM, her segments at the beginning and with Candie were nice. Leon Rodez's promo was pretty funny. I am enjoying The Dude character. He's pretty funny. I like it. The six man tag was pretty good, and I am interested in where the Crystal/Axel relationship is going. Good show, gang. Thumbs up.
  5. Yeah, whatever happened to that show? Wasn't it suppose to air on CBS as part of their 1995-1996 fall scheldue? I remember watching the pilot air during The Big Help telethon back in the fall of '95, and I remember Melissa Joan Hart saying that the show was going to air on CBS. Did CBS change their mind at the last minute or something? The show looked interesting. I would have watched it.
  6. -Tina vs. Ms. Lindsay Gonzalez. -Stephen Joseph Popick chats a bit with Tina in the fitness club -And a match is made for Zero Hour. Which match though? Tina vs. Lindsay? Or Panther vs. PRL? Or will it be another member of the LC taking on another OAOAST wrestler? STAY TUNED~! -And if I have the time, or if Papacita writes the Tina/Lindsay match, then I'll have one of The Lightning Crew members have a match against one of our jobbers
  7. Grudge Match: "The Corporate Champion" Tha Puerto Rican (with Stephen Joseph Popick) vs. Panther
  8. What time are segments due in by?
  9. 1. Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie 2. The Naked Gun Trilogy 3(t). Army Of Darkness 3(t). Spaceballs 4(t). Do The Right Thing 4.(t) The Star Wars Trilogy 5. Ed Wood Honorable mentions go to the Austin Powers Trilogy, Airplane, Airplane II: The Sequel, Rocky I-V, Men In Black I and II, Scarface, Zoolander, A Christmas Story, Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn, Kung Pow: Enter The Fist, and Fear Of A Black Hat.
  10. I actually did something similar to this back when PRL was on IntenseZone. I would send segments on the last hD~! before the PPV every month with Josh Matthews standing in the OAOAST Control Center running down the card. I stopped doing this when PRL went to HeldDOWN~! for some reason. Maybe I can do it again?
  11. Hey Calvin, credit Papacita with the PRL segments. I didn't write anything this week, that was all him. Those segments were great by the way, Papacita. You wrote Tha Puerto Rican perfectly. It was a wonderful job. Thumbs up. The show was great. I liked the commentary during the COD/Black T match. I thought it was very funny. And I also like the new direction Calvin Szechstein is taking. I guess it's safe to say that the Thrillogy is gone now, huh? I mean, Hoff is a face and was kicked out of the group. Calvin is now a face. And Zack is paying more attention to The Original Elite then to the Thrillogy. It's sort of like how The Nation of Domination ended. Everyone just moved onto different things, and the group slowly faded away. Well, it was fun while it lasted. I thought the Thrillogy was awesome.
  12. -The Lightning Crew returns to HeldDOWN~! and greet their leader, "The Corporate Champion" Tha Puerto Rican, in his dressing room. Also expect Tha Puerto Rican to talk some more trash directed at Panther. -"The Corporate Champion" Tha Puerto Rican & Cuban Wall vs. Panther & a partner of his choice -And if I have time, then Vitamin X will take on a random jobber
  13. I've always had a hard time picking my all time favorite album, but the more I listen to Paul's Boutique, the more it becomes my clear cut all time favorite. I LOVE this album so much. And I love it more and more each time I hear it. This is my most listened to Beastie Boys album and with good reason. Now, I have an answer when someone asks me what my favorite album of all time is. It's an awesome record. Speaking of awesome records, can you people recommend me some awesome funk and jazz records? Since some of my favorite rap songs have used funk and jazz samples, I figured that I go straight to the source, and see where these samples came from and see what I find so I would like to know which records to get to start me off. Any help would be great, thanks in advance.
  14. You should get it man. "Mr. Jinx", "Transparent Parents", "Tarfur", "Baseline", and "Stick 'Em Up" are all excellent excellent songs. Jinx is one of my all time favorite albums. It's in my Top 5 for sure. It's really awesome. "Mr. Jinx" holds the title of Catchiest. Song. Ever! I refuse to believe that anyone, rap fan or not, cannot love that song. But like I said, you'll find all of Quarashi's other albums, including Jinx, at http://www.tonlist.com, so just sign up, and you're free to download as much as you want. All of Quarashi's albums are great, but I happened to like Jinx more than I did Guerilla Disco. Although, that maybe because I was so use to their original lead rapper, Hossi, that I found it hard to get use to Tiny. But maybe that will change, who knows. Still, check them out. You won't regret it.
  15. I recommend Outkast. They seem to be a favorite amongst non-rap fans. And I'll recommend The Beastie Boys too. Paul's Boutique is one of the best rap albums ever, IMO. They turned sampling into an art form with that album. If you want to see The Beastie Boys at their best, get Paul's Boutique. And I also recommend Public Enemy. Public Enemy is one of the best rap groups ever. The best, IMO. You could also look into Quarashi. They're an Icelandic white rap group that merges different styles of music together to form one awesome song after another. They don't rap about bling-bling, and they're not hardcore gangstas. They have a somewhat nerdy image actually. In their early albums, they rapped about nothing really, but their new album, Guerilla Disco, is filled with stories rapped by their new lead rapper, Tiny. They released only one album in America, Jinx, but that album is hard to find, so your best bet is to go to http://www.tonlist.com because that is the only place on the internet where you'll be able to download all their albums in their entirety. You'll have to sign up first in order to download, but it's free, so I'm sure that won't be a problem to you.
  16. -"Rap music is nothing but a bunch of untalented hacks talking about bling-bling, bitches, hos, and how many people they've killed. That's not art! It's garbage! I fucking hate it!" I've heard that so many many times that I want to scream. -When people say what's "real Hip-Hop" and what's "Hip-Pop". I usually hear something like: "The Beastie Boys aren't real Hip-Hop! 50 Cent is REAL Hip-Hop". And "Nelly is Hip-Pop! Hip-Pop ain't REAL Hip-Hop! Real Hip-Hop is Talib Kweli, Mos Def, De La Soul." I like Talib Kweli, Mos Def, and De La Soul, but I find using "Hip-Pop" as an insult to be stupid. -People who tell me I shouldn't listen to rock because it's "white people music". -People who don't like Eminem, The Beastie Boys, 3rd Bass, House Of Pain, or any other white rappers BECAUSE they are white. I have heard this reason more than once sadly. When I was in 7th Grade, my class was full of Black and Hispanic rap fans, and it was considered sacreligious to be listening to Eminem. When I asked why it was bad to listen to Eminen or the Beastie Boys, all I got was "Because they're white." When I told some of my classmates I liked Eminem, they insulted me by calling me "White boy."
  17. -Tha Puerto Rican and Stephen Joseph Popick will have some not too kind words to say to the man responsible for PRL's elimination from the Lethal Rumble last Sunday -"The Corporate Champion" Tha Puerto Rican will be in action against some unlucky jobber to get back in the swing of things and get rid of the ring rust and debut new names for his moves -And one Lightning Crew member returns
  18. I'll be sending in a segment with PR and Popick, and another segment with PR, Popick, and Bill Watts concerning what happened to Panther on HeldDOWN~! last Thursday.
  19. Snoop Dogg & Pharell-Drop It Like It's Hot I like the song because it's so bad but in a good way. It reaks of laziness. It's like Snoop and Pharell weren't even trying. Clicking tongues, music that sounds like it came from a $10 Casio keyboard. Even Snoop's lyrics seem lazy. He could do better. And The Neptunes could and have done better beats. This song is lame, but I still love it.
  20. Public Enemy & Moby-MKLVFKWR Kanye West-Through The Wire Skye Sweetnam-Tangled Up In Me Kanye West-Jesus Walks Beastie Boys-Ch-Check It Out Beastie Boys-Triple Trouble Beastie Boys-Right Right Now Now Quarashi-Stars Quarashi-Stun Gun Quarashi-Payback Avril Lavigne-My Happy Ending Avril Lavigne-Nobody's Home Green Day-American Idiot Black Eyed Peas-Let's Get It Started Kanye West-All Falls Down N.O.R.E. featuring Nina Skye, Daddy Yankee, & Gem Star-Oye Mi Canto Juvenile featuring Soulja Jim-Slow Motion Avril Lavigne-Don't Tell Me Fat Joe, Ma$e, Eminem & Lil' Jon-Lean Back (Remix) Jay-Z & Linkin Park-Numb/Encore Jadakiss featuring Allen Anthony-Why? Jadakiss-The Champ Is Here Yellowcard-Ocean Avenue Ludacris, Usher, & Lil' Jon-Lovers And Friends But I will consider 2004 to be the year of Quarashi, as this was the year I became a fan of their music and that was my most listened to group this year. This was also the year I became a Beastie Boys fan after years of liking their singles. I now have all of their albums and I love them all.
  21. That was August 9, 1999, the same night Jericho debuted in the WWF. I remember that show very well. The best part of the show was when Hulk's son, Nick, gives him the red and yellow attire, and there was this dramatic moment where Hogan looks at the attire. It was supposed to be dramatic but I thought it was funny. And I think during that radio interview Raven did, he remarked that if he got the same entrance Jericho did, then he'd be more over as a result. Raven ended up being fired like a month later, IIRC.
  22. Happy Birthday fellow Mystery Science Theater 3000 and O.C. fan!
  23. Was the ending to Starrcade 1997 always suppose to be the "fast count" or did Hogan have it changed to that? Why did Nitro go from three hours back to two in late 1999, and why was Thunder moved from Thursdays to Wednesdays? How much money did WCW lose in 2000? When did it become clear to the wrestlers and the people running WCW that it was going out of business, and that it needed to be sold? In late 2000 or early 2001?
  24. What was the reason for WCW pay-per-views in 1998 being advertised as WCW/NWO (Insert PPV name here)? And why was this also used for merchandising?
  25. 1.) Did WCW have any idea what to do after Starrcade 1997, because it seem to me at the time that they didn't. Was WCW so busy concentrating on the buildup and the actual show, that they had no idea what to do after it was all said and done? Was the splitting of the nWo into the Wolfpac and the Black and White planned months in advance or was it on the fly? 2.) Was there any explanation as to why Dale Torborg transform from a racecar driver who appeared on WCW Worldwide, to the MVP-Most Violent Player who wore facepaint and a baseball uniform and who wrestled on Thunder, to the KISS Demon who had a feud with Vampiro? 3.) Whatever happened to the WCW Presidency angle? I remember Sting beating Ric Flair for the presidency in July 1999, being president for a week or two, and then it was dropped. 4.) I remember a Nitro in October 1999 when Macho Man Randy Savage came out with Gorgeous George dressed like a pimp from a 70s movie talking about how he was going to introduce the future of wrestling later that night. But nothing happened. Who was Savage going to introduce, and why was it dropped? 5.) Speaking of Mach, why did he disappeared after his match with Dennis Rodman at Road Wild 1999? And why did he come back on Thunder in May 2000 and interfered in the New Blood vs. Millionaire's Club battle royal, but didn't show up on Nitro and was never mention again? 6.) Why did Hogan go back to dressing up like Hollywood Hogan in 2000 during the New Blood vs. Millionaire's Club feud? 7.) I remember on the Thunder before the first Russo/Bischoff show in 2000, that Hogan was interviewed by Mike Tenay. He said something along the lines of "Billy Kidman couldn't draw a flea market." Was that a shoot? Or was that meant to a way to start the Hogan/Kidman feud? And why would Hogan feud with Kidman of all people if Hogan ended up winning the blow-off? 8.) Is it true that Vince Russo won the WCW Title once? If so, when? And why? 9.) Why did Bret Hart feud with Will Sasso of Mad TV in 1999? 10.) When did WCW stop working with Master P. and why? 11.) Why did Rey Mysterio, Juventud Guererra, and Psichosic lose their masks? And I heard that Rey's attitude changed and his match quality dropped after he lost the mask. Is this true? Was he lazy after he lost the mask? 12.) When did DJ Ran start appearing on Nitro and on the pay-per-views, when did he stop, and what was the point of it? Wrestling shows don't need DJs! Is it me, or did alot of WCW shows from 1999 and 2000 have dead crowds? It seems like the crowd never reacted to anything.
