I'm pretty happy with my Angle/Steamboat pairing, but I'd love to see Angle/Bret. That would be mine too: Bret / Angle. Bret / Heel Piper was a close no. 2 for whom I wanted to pair Bret with. With 34 picks between my first two picks, those were just pipe dreams. -

Back from work... Don't assume I wanted to take "the gamble". Mellow picked Regal for me according to a list I gave him. I did want to wanna think about my 6th round pick myself after getting back online tonight and seeing who I got in the 5th. Wait a little next time, mellow Still, Regal works for me. -

For my next pick, I'm choosing someone who helped revolutionize the business in the mid-90's, ushering in a new era in North American wrestling. This is not who I'm thinking of programming Bret with but I just couldn't let him get away. At his healthiest, there is arguably no one more spectacular. Ladies & Gentlemen, the centerpiece of my Cruiserweight division. Rey Mysterio Jr. -

Thanks again mellow for posting my pick... I'll take this opportunity to clarify that the Skydome is where my territory's Supercards (like the one at the end of the draft) take place but the classic Maple Leaf Gardens is where the smaller, more frequent shows are run. Christian's Re-debut in WWE has occurred!
Jebus replied to Thanks for the Fish's topic in The WWE Folder
It looks like nothing has changed since 2005. First, they take away his big program with Jeff Hardy. Now this... Maybe you should've stayed in TNA, Christian. Time will tell. ---------- EDIT: Sorry about the repost, I didn't feel like reading the thread before posting the Observer story...ah well. Source: Wrestling Observer - SmackDown writer Michael Hayes originally came up with the idea of Christian Cage doing all the sneak attacks on Jeff Hardy to be revealed at the Royal Rumble. As time went on and people figured that Christian was behind it, and/or Hayes realized how Vince felt about Christian, he approached Vince with the idea of giving the role to Matt Hardy. Hayes sold the idea on the fact that Matt vs. Jeff would be a bigger surprise and bigger draw than Jeff vs. Christian, and Vince agreed with him. John Laurinaitis had been pushing to do something with Christian sooner, rather than have him sit and wait until April. While all the talk about his return was going on, Vince started to sour on Christian. Back in 2005, whenever ideas were brought up for Christian, Vince always nixed them and only saw Cage as an upper midcarder. Vince even said in meetings that Christian had no star aura about him and that his head shot promotional photo was one of the worse he had ever seen. RAW writer Brian Gewirtz asked about bringing him to RAW after Matt got the spot on SmackDown, but there was concern he would end up like D-Lo Brown - just hired and forgot about without getting a chance. They came up with the idea to give him a new feud with someone Vince is high on, that being Jack Swagger. They felt the longer they didn't get him on TV, the more likely he'd end up never to get going and this was the best thing they had for him. The original idea for the ECW show had the same opener with the two but several segments were planned that showed Christian meeting the talent on the brand and putting him over like it was a big thing he was there. The actual match was booked to be a short sprint for him to shine some more, ending with Swagger getting counted out or some crazy no contest. Vince ended up changing the show to what it ended up being. It was seen internally as Vince having no vision of Christian as a star. -
(The following rant is assuming HHH/Orton & Edge/Cena take place at Mania) WWE is getting stale on the top of the card. While HHH vs. Orton & Edge vs. Cena are certainly big-time matches, I've seen these bouts too many times before. Orton/HHH since 2004 and Edge/Cena since 2006. It lacks that "Only at Wrestlemania" feel I would get from past main events. This would make an awesome Unforgiven...and, upon inspection, indeed both these matches have main evented Unforgiven before. With the exception of Taker, the same four wrestlers are back for the two big Championship matches at Mania for the 2nd year in a row. Sure, WWE took chances this year. You can give Punk, Jericho & Jeff Hardy the World Titles the rest of the year but, at Mania, they just don't trust anybody else anymore. Taker & HBK don't need title matches. Batista will probably get injured again this time next year. That being said, I wonder which combo of HHH/Orton/Edge/Cena we'll get at Mania 26.

That's what I thought too. Pretty good idea of turning their real-life cutting spree into something. Not only that but choosing Beer Money to get the storyline. Nice.

People are getting Young being cut by mistakingly reading the spoilers. Young teamed with Petey. Petey lost the match for his team. He's gone. So, Young's safe...for now.

Looks like Magnus is getting Trytan-ed. In other words: big build-up, couple of matches, and finally, TNA realizing he's not good enough / ready. Sucks that Sabin was already fed to him.
