I like Watson immensly. I just found the Sherlock perspective more interesting is all. I would think some of the other stories could have a interesting twist through Sherlock's perspective instead of Watson as well.

But there are only two short stories written from Holmes' POV in the canon (not count The Gloria-Scott and The Musgrave Ritual which were related to Watson by Holmes) neither is very good. The rest are written by Dr. John H. Watson MD. One needs Watson, there is no magic without him. I liked them though. It's a matter of what style you enjoyed. I enjoyed that one a bit better than Watson's personally. You didn't. Oh well.

My favorite is The Valley of Fear. Also I always enjoyed the stories written from Sherlock's perspective a little more than ones written from they eyes of Watson.
