And hey, I'm aware the two don't sound much alike, but I'm listening to Liberty Belle and the Black Diamond Express right now, and "Head Full of Steam" is so great.

This band still isn't great outside of "Lazy Line Painter Jane," however. I prefer the less fey, but still wimpy, indie pop of the Go-Betweens.

You know what's an album from the 60s that's good? Astral Weeks, by Van Morrison. (I've never heard the Charles Mingus album of the same name, so I can't comment on that one.) But yeah, the title track, "Madame George," "Ballerina"...outstanding.

Oh, "Caroline, No" is good, too. So is "Hang On to Your Ego," but that doesn't count.

I do not enjoy Pet Sounds. "God Only Knows" and "Wouldn't It Be Nice" are both good, but the rest...man, I'll never care about it.

It was pretty awesome, fortunately. It was. That moment with "Search and Destroy" has got to be the best musical cue I've seen in years. That whole scene nearly made me fall out of my chair.

I enjoy Paranoid, but I haven't been able to listen to it in years because Ozzy is such a joke now. That should have no bearing on something he did 30+ years ago, granted, but there ya go.

They had Interpol's sound back when Interpol was still in short pants. Early U2 (think songs like "New Year's Day") was a knockoff of their sound. Start with Crocodiles or Heaven Up Here.

Do you like Echo and the Bunnymen? I do; the Rhino remasters of their back catalogue can be found at any Best Buy.

And if The Life Aquatic sucks, I'll be depressed for about a week.

I know this guy who used to work at Hot Topic; though it isn't required, management encourages their employees to dress that way. A few years back, I bought, on vinyl, Bad Brains' I Against I at a Hot Topic. The dude at the counter was very excited by this, as he could tell I knew real punk, something most of that store's shoppers (and employees) knew nothing about. He told me this.

And I haven't seen snow since the winter before I moved from Tennessee, which was 20 years ago.

It's rainy in Jacksonville, too, but much colder: 45 degrees. Including windchill, it's 40.

The battery is still charging on mine. I'm not leaving my mother's house until it's finished.
