  1. Bloc Party tried something different on the new one, but it didn't work for them. Even though I do not care much for either, Silent Alarm compared to A Weekend in the City shows a band better off at writing hook-filled guitar rock of the former than the ponderous, atmospheric keyboard washes of the latter. AWitC just sort of plods along whereas SA moves.
  2. Any of that could constitute a slump, yeah. Basically, good first album; mediocre/bad second album.
  3. Interpol - Antics The Futureheads - News and Tributes I don't recall there being many other Futureheads fans here, so I expect no one to take me to task for that, but Antics? I don't remember why I ever liked it. edit: And since I know people will ask, for the sake of this thread, count LPs, only. No EPs.
  4. Oh, come on.
  5. Well, "Take You on a Cruise" is kind of nice. And I like the closing bit of "Narc," even with the unintentionally lol-inducing "you should see my spaaaaaace." I mean, rea.
  6. Not really.
  7. Well, google figured out "blindian" for me: black indian.
  8. All of this is so, so...damning in the court of law. Once it is parsed what "Blindian" means.
  9. You linked the same page twice. And "bodt." Anyway:
  10. I used to think Antics was good; that changed a few weeks back when I listened to it for the first time in who knows how long. Now I can only tolerate "Evil" and "Slow Hands," but hey, those are pretty good songs.
  11. Alternate thread title: John Popper popped.
  12. joke answer
  13. A new Neurosis song: http://www.neurotrecordings.com/artists/ne...IsNotEnough.mp3 I don't much like the direction Scott Kelly's voice has been going in.
  14. I used to live downstairs from a couple who listened to nothing but Tool and Fleetwood Mac. Nothing else.
  15. Are they still working the ambiguous sexuality shtick with Fez? Keep in mind I haven't listened to these people since they were based out of Florida ten years ago.
  16. I'm a nice guy, now!
  17. A lot of people never forgave me for that period of time when I lorded my alleged superiority over everyone whenever I got the chance. Gene was always more humble than I.
  18. I remember when they used to be only in Florida. It was called the Ron & Ron Show then; Fez was there, but as a sidekick.
  19. I'm probably worse if you think about it. I've done some pretty fucked up stuff to people on here. I'm more misogynistic, plus I cost Ripper an entire day's work by posting an unwarned link to some godawful filthy pornography that replicated popups like e-coli. More will come to me. Edit 1: I called everyone's children runny-nosed brats in the Current Events folder. Yet, you're still more popular!
  20. I'd vote for you, but my fragile ego has been shattered by the merciless onslaught of Bobby Peru, so I can't even think straight enough to copy and paste all the brackets and put in bold font which I want to win.
  21. Assuming I make it that far, there's no way I'm getting past Agent of Oblivion. He's always been more well-liked, even if he's as much an obnoxious asshole as I am.
  22. Speaking of 2007 in Indie, I really like the new !!!, Myth Takes. Never cared much for them before, so I guess I'll have to reinvestigate their previous output now.
  23. I like "Hunting for Witches," but that's about it. The keyboard-heavy instrumentation on the new one doesn't suit them well; of course, I didn't think the more guitar-heavy approach on the debut did great things from them, either, but hey, that one, for all its faults, had hooks. Not so much this one.
