  1. I would be very happy with 1 Phoenix 2 San Antonio 3 Seattle 4 Dallas 5 Sacramento 6 Memphis 7 Minnesota 8 Houston As the final seeding. Also, is it just me or is nobody talking about the Mavericks?
  2. Harlem Heat's music was used on Kids In The Hall. "I do it because I'm a bitch."
  3. AND THEN you look at someone like Carlos Beltran, who'd rather go to a pretty bad NY Mets team for more money than go to Chicago and have a legitimate chance at his first World Series trophy. Even if the WS is a long shot, the Cubs have a much better chance of seeing the post-season than the Mets do.
  4. I think Spree can be bothered to pull his head out of his ass for the Lakers. I hope. Also, it's worth mentioning that the Czar has really turned the Grizzlies around and put them in contention for the 8 spot.
  5. No 'stache? Mattingly had one. What, Randy Johnson doesn't quite stand up to the legendary Don Mattingly? Pshaw.
  6. If you're referring to the Big Fundamental, you're smoking something if you think he's ever leaving San Antonio.
  7. That's what Dana Carvey said. He said it was Tom, and his Jones.
  8. I've never thought of indie as a style of music, just a catch-all term for stuff that's not on a major record label.
  9. Eight years of music education, God I hope I can do that. Oh also, if an album gets recorded, I must call it "Camera Six Is The Worst Case Scenario."
  10. jazz/prog/rock. artsy shit.
  11. I've been doing a lot of writing lately in hopes of getting a band started this spring, and while I think I've written some decent lyrics, I'm not really the best singer, or at least as good as I'd like to be. Is anybody here an accomplished, semi-accomplished, or at least competent singer here? Preferably from some sort of band? If so, maybe you could give me some tips on how to improve my voice, or say what you do, some sort of help, insofar as one can give vocal lessons on a message board. It'd be appreciated, since I feel with all my years of playing jazz and classical trumpet, I should be able to pick up good singing fairly quickly. It's probably just a matter of sticking to it and finding the time to build up the old vocal cords. Not chords. Unless you can create your own harmony, in which case you are very special. ok thx bye
  12. Pats fan: "WHAT? Are you kidding? There are NOT! If anything, there are too many COLTS fans on this board. As a matter of fact, the Patriots should have MORE fans, all things considered." I think Alf is the only Colts fan here. I like the Colts too! They're relatively nearby, they play entertaining football, Peyton Manning is cool, and the uniforms are HAWT. Sometimes I secretly wish the Colts would move to Chicago so we could be a two-team town again like we were until 1960, but I know it would never work. I like the Colts.
  13. Well, Coffey, five of them are in my signature right above your post, if that helps. Edit: as if on cue, it starts a new page.
  14. I think you mean "NFC Norris", like Berman always says, referring to the days when the NHL had a huge awesome five-way mega-rivalry between the Black Hawks, Red Wings, North Stars, Maple Leafs, and Blues. Or Norse, because the Vikings. I just realized that but I'm not going to go back and delete a perfectly good anecdote about when the NHL was good.
  15. John Kerry isn't dead enough for my liking.
  16. I think Houston should resuscitate the corpse of Jeff Van Gundy. Have you SEEN the dude? Cripes.
  17. I'm an international Bush supporter because I live in two blue states and we're gonna secede and join Canada!
  18. You know for a while, I forgot this was an Internet message board. Thanks, Phenom, for reminding me.
  19. I just realized there's something decidely icky about the Vikings winning.
  20. You're aware that really only applies with college sports, right. Well, that and the NFL only has two conferences, with eight divisions. It made as much sense in my context as it did in anyone else's.
  21. Well. Fuck you, Carlos Beltran. Have fun at Shea. Real launching pad there. You're on the city's A-team now. Right in the heart of beautiful Queens. Excellent.
  22. Oh great. Packers lose. Now I can't be near Packer fans for a few days. I just wanted the Packers to win because I didn't want the cheeseheads to bitch for days. That and they had to DO IT FOR TEH CONFERENCE!
  23. Absolutely. If that was on piano, it would be peerless. "All My Love" by Led Zeppelin could also benefit from no synth. At the risk of looking stupid... where's the synth? I quite like When The Tigers Broke Free and The Fletcher Memorial Home, the latter mostly for the solo. Near the end there's a little bit of synth-brass that really doesn't sound right and would have been better served as high piano notes.
  24. Hot You'd probably jump out of the casket like a zombie, and then Kotz would kill you again. Or fuck your skull, I can't decide which. Hotter
  25. They've always been there. Seattle was a Japanese colony in the 1700s, "Saiatru," meaning "Land of coffee and rain."
