Food & Shopping, it was. And it was a fine, fine folder.

This thread shouldn't expand in any manner. Whoops.

As a hearty Midwesterner, I enjoy a hearty Sunday breakfast. However, we've been putting in new flooring downstairs, so the kitchen has been out of order and worst of all, unstocked. Thus, I've made do with what I can find: scrambled eggs with salsa and cheese, a slice of watermelon, three strips of bacon (crispy, the best way) and a glass of milk. What are you having for breakfast today?

Braves? NLCS? Bwahahahaha. I'm feeling a Wrigley Field South Part II this October.

Eh, AARON FUCKING BOONE should be on the list, as long as they mention that he was replaced by Alex Rodriguez in the offseason when he unsuccessfully tried to hone his mad balling skills and injured himself.

I certainly don't. I like the idea of the biggest rivalry in sports coming to a head every year in October. Certainly better than Anaheim vs. Minnesota. Cubs and Cardinals, Red Sox and Yankees as your LCSs. That's the way it should be. I agree. I don't really like the whole Cubs/Cards rivalry, but apparently it's like number 2 to Yankees/Sox. I'd much rather see heated rivals every year than random combinations of teams. Yeah. The best rivalries produce the best baseball (or if not the best baseball, some damn good entertainment), so that's what I want to see. The gameplay in Red Sox-Yankees is just naturally going to be more elevated than Rangers-Twins, so I'll take the "tired old matchup" in a heartbeat.

I dunno bout that. NOMAH!!=NOMAIR. Nomair Gairsy-apaira. And "Czech and Chong"? What the hell is that, some stoner Cub fan comedy duo? I got a Baseball Jones oh baby oo-way-ooh.

I certainly don't. I like the idea of the biggest rivalry in sports coming to a head every year in October. Certainly better than Anaheim vs. Minnesota. Cubs and Cardinals, Red Sox and Yankees as your LCSs. That's the way it should be. Nobody gives a flying fuck about Anaheim, or Minnesota, or San Diego, or even Atlanta anymore. And if we don't repeat 2003 and have Chicago and Boston, it's really money. I think Cubs can really snag the wild card now, but that's still a huge disappointment, all things considered. HOW THE HELL CAN WE BE DONE WITH ST. LOUIS?!?!? Anyway, congrats to the Yankees for getting Loaiza. he'll help them out. But I don't think Contreras is going to be any help to the White Sox...but at least the Minnesota Twins aren't world beaters right now, so nobody in the AL Central besides the Royals can really concede the division.
-
I don't think Jose Contreras is gonna help the White Sox catch the Twins. Buehrle, Garland, and Garcia better pick up the slack for them or the south side is finished.
-
Nomar might stay in Chicago. Cubs and White Sox are two different beasts, I can understand his indifference to the White Sox. I think he'll be treated well by the north side.

My dad works with this stuff for a living, benign= NOT CANCEROUS. i.e. if a mole is benign, it's just a mole. If it's malignant, it's cancer. If a mole is malignant, it must post at TSM.

Your subtitle should be "I eat crows, that's what I do!" again, croweater. That made me laugh.

Ron Santo should make it into the Hall of Fame. No question. Plus, his color commentary on 720 is, at times, priceless. A great player and great broadcaster, and believe me, the Cubs have had quite a share of great broadcasters.

A parking lot with a soccer field. A PARKING LOT WITH A SOCCER FIELD. So now that land will have had championships won by Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, Reggie Jackson, Roger Clemens...and now a bunch of little soccer-playing pre-teens, upon it. This new park will not happen. Yankees fans will protest, the State will not fund it, the Stadium, ideally, goes nowhere. And here I thought losing Busch Memorial Stadium would be the biggest loss for baseball in the near future. It's cool that they took a cookie-cutter stadium (Veterans, Riverfront, Three Rivers, Atlanta-Fulton) and by tearing out the Astroturf in favor of grass and many other changes, they managed to create a very unique and interesting stadium. (But fuck the Cardinals for beating my Cubs.) But losing Yankee Stadium is entirely worse. I guess I have faith, though. Wrigley Field will be repaired and keep on ticking for many years. Fenway Park will be slightly improved year after year and go nowhere. In Los Angeles, they won't care enough to replace Dodger Stadium. And Yankee Stadium, despite Steinbrenner's apparent wishes, will continue to exist.
