I don't have a shame lay because I don't have any shame. Not even my cousin... or the 13 year old... or that guy I went out with for like 2 months just to freak out a girl at work who thought I was harassing her.

Ang Lee's The Ice Storm was at least half about a key party, and that was a good movie. Slept on too. Good cast.
-
You know, I like Adam Sandler too, but not really for his movies. Some of them were good. It's weird how much flak Little Nicky gets... I liked that one. I heard somebody say it was the worst movie ever starring an SNL cast member. WTF? Had to be hyperbole, though... I'm pretty sure that's got to be a Chevy Chase movie.

This guy wrote some interesting stuff about the moral ambiguities in Watchmen. I'm totally stealing his tattoo, by the way, and I know how lame that is, but I don't give a fuck. I'm doing a similar piece on my forearm contrasting Comedian and Ozymandias. The "bitch" by the way (Sally Jupiter... no, I'm not going to look up her Polish name) was actually probably the most reasonable character of the lot. She was the most easy to relate to, but I like her the least of the lot too... her character was basically a complete worry wart who frowned on anything important anyone wanted to do. This is very close to how I'd react if there were actually gay ass super heroes running around, but she just wasn't that interesting. She is, though, the glue that holds the whole story together, and should be given prominence in that way in any attempt to film the story. She's the boring regular person who we need to not blow ourselves up.

There's no H in his name, you faggot.

I've never seen this and I go to movies all the time. Wait... no, yes I have. Must have tuned it out. I don't usually enter a theater until the exact time the show is supposed to start (which is actually when they start the trailers) though, unless I anticipate it being a large crowd.

I didn't particularly mind Williams either.

So which movies are you anticipating in 2008?

Oh, the next Harry Potter is coming out? Add that one to my list. I hadn't heard of some of those. Motel Hell is actually one of my favorite movies of it's genre, but it was lightning in a bottle, I don't think you can remake that. It'd be like the TCM remake, but worse, unless R. Lee Ermey is in that one too. -
You know, I'm really starting to like her. I never gave her much thought, but as you know if you've followed my posts, I have an affinity for people who are just shamelessly fucked up. That, plus how bizarrely attractive I find her made me actually listen to her songs, and I like it. I saw a video of her snorting coke on stage. Hardcore! She tried to be sly about it, though, so it's only .4 GG or so.

Man, I almost want to get in line for Dark Knight now. Rambo (one of my favorite series ever) Cloverfield There Will Be Blood, but that comes out on Friday, so not too long to wait there. I'll see almost any superhero movie, but besides Dark Knight I'm not too thrilled about any yet. -
I don't even consider him a bad guy. He was right. If anyone was a bad guy, it was Comedian, and even he was questionable. That's part of why the story is so good. Rorschach and Manhattan are sort of inversions of each others character, like Eddie Blake and Adrian Veidt are. That's where the balance is. Ozymandias and Manhattan are not really the protagonist and antagonist here.

Johnny Mnemonic was bad, but shit, it was a shame, because it had some super cool elements. I like horror and sci fi which a half step above porn, so Species is always good. Even Species 2 is watchable. Good bad sci fi: the Cube sequels (the orginal Cube is awesome). I tend to class the Resident Evil series as such as well.
-
Oh shit, I just now realized that the guy playing Rorschach was the child molester in Little Children. That actually gives me much more confidence in his ability to play the role.
-
Fucking sucked. I don't really have specific reasons, but it felt bad on the whole. Good movies came out though, that's about all the good I can say for it. As the clock was ticking down on 2007, I was heard to say "Good riddance.", and was met with much agreement. 2004 was the last year I'd really call a good year. 2008 is actually looking good so far though. Maybe they come every 4 years, like the olympics or elections.

Mongolian folk music. I'm trying to learn a Mongolian instrument (Morin khuur), though, so it makes sense.

Jesse was the name of the boyfriend of the drunk bitch in my story!

I used to do that too. One of my favorites things to do if I was depressed was to sit in the rain drinking Old Crow and listening to Tom Waits. This was while I was living in Florida, so it tended to rain pretty regularly. For the sake of history, Old Crow and Jim Beam used to compete for premier US bourbon. Beam eventually bought Old Crow, and it's now pretty much exactly the same as Jim Beam white label, but aged one year less than the usual 4 year Beam (although Beam also makes a 7 year variety), resulting in it's currently less than stellar reputation. I still appreciate the history of it, though. U.S. Grant drank Old Crow, you know.

It's one thing I've really enjoyed about aging, I pretty much never have to deal with "drama" anymore. It's so refreshing. This is what I did for new years (it's also a drunk story, but it's a funny one): I went to a house party where my friend's band played. Half the people there were straight edge anyway, and the rest only nursed beers, but there was one girl who got completely wasted, and we spent maybe 45 minutes just laughing at her (although not in a mean way, I hope). She kept saying she wanted to "multifight" people. I think she was trying to say muay thai fight. I agreed to spar with her, and she almost seriously kicked me in the face, but then fell over backwards. When she started beating the shit out of the Christmas tree, her boyfriend took her home. It was hilarious.

http://health.msn.com/health-topics/articl...9>1=10815 MSN has an article up today about hangovers. Nothing new, really, except that clear liquor gives you less severe hangovers than dark liquor. I knew that from experience, but it's confirmed now (although cheap vodka is the worst hangover I've ever felt). And apparently I shouldn't take Tylenol, my pain reliever of choice. My poor liver!

You're too old for this shit, Young.

Where's your father? He's upstairs masturbating to gay porn.

Czech, you should know that the Scotch egg was invented in 1738, well before there were even British colonies over here. I learned this from wikipedia, which also tells me that serving them hot is mostly a US thing, which is how I've had them. Cold Scotch eggs? A little weird, but I think it would be ok. It also says here that they have gained a bad reputation from being pre-made, plastic wrapped and sold at convenience stores. That I don't think I'd be cool with. Also, speaking of haggis... it's supposed to taste really good even though it doesn't sound good. They make vegetarian versions which are supposed to taste the same. I might try that so I can see what it tastes like without triggering projectile vomiting due to the content. I've toyed with the idea of getting a Scottish Coat of Arms tattoo, but I wouldn't feel right about it unless I'd eaten haggis at least once.

Yeah, I think you're thinking of Darkwatch. Decent game. Too bad about westerns not doing too well. I like 'em.

I'm going to get into another fight...
Nighthawk replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in No Holds Barred
Guys, I'm not really into that sick fetish stuff so much as I just find it interesting. I'd probably do well in a fighting tournament though. I'm of the Tyler Durden/Homer Simpson school of fighting: my strength is that I can take a lot of punishment. -
Today was my birthday, yet I am home by midnight.
Nighthawk replied to Giuseppe Zangara's topic in No Holds Barred
Patton Oswalt was pretty accurate. The birthdays that count are 1-13, 16, 18, 21 and every time you enter a new decade.
