Yes, because having no real plot, crapping all over the first two in story, and a plethora of generic action sequences that would fit another Fast & The Furious sequel moreso than a Terminator movie, makes it quality. Riiiiiiight. T2 is, honestly, the best action film I've ever seen. The action scenes themselves are quality, the father/son dynamic of Ahnie and Connor was played to perfection, and the whole story in general touched upon so many emotions that it should have won an Academy Award for something other than "Best Special Effects." Also, I liked T-1000 waaaaay more than I did the TX. The TX was so bland, had no real personality, and just seemed to be Warner Bros' way of saying "hey, a robot that's a superior model to Ahnie, haha!" At least Ahnie had TROUBLE dealing with the T-1000. T-1000 was only defeated due to a blind chance, whereas TX was fucking clown shoes. Also..."talk to the hand"? "TALK TO THE HAND"?! Fuck you.

Also be sure to ask who the primary trainers are for reference sake (for example, if you were to be in New England and were looking at SlamTech? Despite the fact that most of the workers they've produced haven't been AMAZING, Bob Evans is a really good trainer, as he emphasizes psychology and selling, which are two things that all of SlamTech's workers have been very good at, and two things most indy workers these days are terrible at). Other than that, go with Hillard's suggestions.

If you were going to start an indy promotion...
Corey_Lazarus replied to JoeDirt's topic in General Wrestling
First, I'd open one in New England. We have one big company here, New England Championship Wrestling, and a few others that aren't as big/as good. I'd find a wrestling school with no formal ties to any promotion, and begin one there. Meaning that trainees would be sent to my promotion to better themselves, thus getting cheaper talent (and perhaps the next breakout indy star, as a few are in New England, namely Eddie Edwards). The card would be varied, but the emphasis would be on solid-to-great live wrestling, with storylines and angles that aren't too old-school, and aren't too SE. The top star would most likely be a local wrestler, somebody I know I could count on to not miss shows that often and wouldn't cost an arm and a leg. I'd try my best to cut deals with other local feds to do inter-promotional events, and even try to cut a deal with RoH so that they would not do shows in Massachusetts or Rhode Island within two weeks of my shows. I would immediately go for television, hence the compelling angles, and find people that can do good production for cheap (meaning either friends with knowledge of television production, or college students/gradautes that show great promise). The main moneymaker would be the live shows, with merchandise and DVDs/tapes sold at live events and through the website as well. There we go. That fed should last a year at the least. -
If he's wise, he'd stay away from TNA. TNA took the careers of Raven, Shane Douglas, Sabu, Jerry Lynn, and Christopher Daniels - all HUGE names on the indy scene once not in WWE/WCW/ECW - and practically destroyed all of them (moreso than they were before). D'Lo's first TNA run was great. When he came back from injury/his first tour of All Japan (I believe he was injured and then came back, but feel free to correct me), TNA was on the path to their own destruction. He should've learned better then and just went "bye bye, JJ."
-
So they could have easily went "Dixie, we might be able to get a more live crowd in Florida, but we'd also make NO money as opposed to the small amounts of money we are making, and we'd most likely have to cancel some shows because of weather." If Dixie laid out the ultimatum of going to Orlando or pulling Panda's funding, then I can understand TNA going there, but if she just went "hey, Orlando's pretty"? Fuck 'em. I stand by my "stick to a territory" idea.

No, but I am going on the opinion's of not only Jebus, but other puro fans I do chat with. When almost everybody you ask say the guy's crap? It's perfectly acceptable to believe them when they know more about the topic (puro) than you do. -
I'll just type up my e-fed characters' themes. NAME - CURRENT THEME - PAST THEMES Corey Lazarus - Slayer's "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" - Amen's "Coma America," Shadows Fall's "The First Noble Truth," Stuck Mojo's "Not Promised Tomorrow '97," Marky Mark's "Don't Sleep" Cliff Young - Black Label Society's "We Live No More" - Megadeth's "Symphony of Destruction," Iron Maiden's "The Wicker Man," Danzig's "Five Finger Crawl," Black Label Society's "Demise of Sanity" Jesse White - Toxic Narcotic's "People Suck" - Guano Apes' "Open Your Eyes," Stuck Mojo's "Rising" Andrew Crow - White Zombie's "I, Zombie" - Theatre of Tragedy's "Machine," Misfits' "Descending Angel" Team Frontline (tag team of Cliff/Jesse) - Iron Maiden's "The Wicker Man" - Fear Factory's "New Breed," Pro-Pain's "Make War Not Love," Shadows Fall's "Stepping Outside The Circle" TV-MA (tag team of Laz/various partners) - Rage Against The Machine's "No Shelter" - Fu Manchu's "Squash That Fly" I think all of these make great themes, and I don't think most of them have even been used by actual wrestlers.

...if it's as bad and as pointless as all but the last 20 minutes of T3? Grrrr... Cameron REALLY should have acquired the rights to the franchise as a whole, and made it so that whatever proposed scripts for future installments had to be run by him for approval. Because T3 crapped all over the awesomeness of T2, and was just another action movie, only this time it had the Terminator name attached to it.

Any NCW Northeast shit? I think my buddy Drew's friends with a few of them, since they prolly went to the same school (Tri-County Regional Vocational High School) as him.

Japanese superstar Masao Inoue to debut for TNA
Corey_Lazarus replied to LucharesuFan619's topic in TNA Wrestling
So, basically, once again TNA fucks up by giving us Japan's worst and hoping fans will watch because the guy's Japanese. The problem with that though, is that puro fans know of the guy and know he's crap, so they won't watch, and the marks don't give a fuck if a wrestler's from Japan or Canada or America. -
Shut up, queerbag. Bob Saget flipout? When did this happen?
-
Exactly. I've been watching Aliens, Terminator 2, RoboCop, Toxic Avenger, and other incredibly violent feature films since I was a pup. Now? Aside from when I'm coming up with ideas for scenes in movies or video games, I'm not a violent person at all. I'm quite peaceful, actually. And all this came from listening to "evil" rock music and watching "evil" movies for nearly a decade and a half. Whatever. I think it's more or less just kids owning up to the fact that their lives are meaningless, will be meaningless, and so forth. I hate to pull a Tyler Durden here, but everything said in Fight Club about Generation X'ers still rings true to the current crop of 13-20 year old's. No real futures, no GREAT war, no iconic sports hero, no great depression, nothing. Of course, maybe I'm only saying this because I watched Fight Club for the first time in forever the other day, but hey.
-
Maybe it should have been a wakeup call for TNA to find an area and tour within 5 or 6 venues instead of putting all of their eggs into one basket. But wait, it's TNA. Duh.

For a second, when you said Miyamoto, I thought of Returner. And then I remembered how much better Returner is than anything TNA has ever produced, and I cried. Then I listened to my friend Kurt's band Chadmeister, which is an emo band making fun of other emo bands, and I laughed. Then I listened to some Slayer, and got angry that I missed OzzFest this year. And after that... ...well, after that is none of your damn business! -
Left-to-right: Dopey, XTC, Truth, Sherlock, Watson

The fuck is an "instramentual"? Is it a partial menstral cycle, or something? Oh, INSTRUMENTAL. My favorites are: Shadows Fall - "Casting Shade" Shadows Fall - "Lead Me Home" Beyond The Embrace - "The Bending Seas" Dream Theater - "Overture 1926" Metallica - "Orion" Metallica - "To Live Is To Die"

My old cat's name was Cinnamon Jack. He went by the name of CJ. My current cat's name is Chowder. He answers to Chowder, Chowdah (as in parodying the Cape Cod accent), Showdair (French accent), Fagboy, Fatty, and ChaChow. And Agent, I suggest going with Winfield.

It disturbed me. That says something. It says that the makers of this movie don't understand Columbine happened because the two kids were fucking psychopaths that wanted to create a catastrophe on a 9/11 scale, or that the best thing to do to stop assholes from picking on you is to fight back in a similar manner. But no. We have to have some after school special about how bullying leads to kids killing each other. Why couldn't it be about how the kids decided to fight back by systematically humiliating their abusers? Wait, that'd send the wrong message. We need to have the kids ready to go on a killing spree, and then pussy out on it because one of their friends says no. To me, that's saying that none of the school shooters ever wanted to kill people, which is 100% fucking wrong. Fuck this movie.

^Straight from the horse's ass. If there was ever anybody more familiar with Russo than Marty, they're relatives of the man.

Indeed. I first saw at her at the first night of TPI, and I was very impressed. Another fine woman wrestler to add to the list of those in IWA's women's division. And you have NECW to thank for her, considering I do believe she was trained by "Brutal" Bob Evans (New England indy legend).

How would you have killed Kane's child?
Corey_Lazarus replied to Youth N Asia's topic in The WWE Folder
Wow...Downhome, your ideas seem a little awkward now, eh? I'd have ripped off Rosemary's Baby and Dead Alive all at the same time, with the good ol' "evil twin" scenario as well. See, the baby is born, but it's only a TINYYYYYYYYYYYYY fetus. Miraculously, it survives, and grows and grows and grows at an extraordinary rate. Finally, the third week into its life, it utters its first words to Kane: "Who's the boss?" And then... "IT WAS ME, KANE! IT WAS ME ALL ALONG!" Of course, then the angle is dropped after the terrific Danza/Kane feud, and Kane moves on to feud with this returning legendary stable:
