  1. She is my friend Amy. We call each other "womb buddies," because we've been close friends since we were 5 (close friends for 13 years). Your chances are slim and none, just as Frigid's are (and Frigid was the first one to really hassle me into getting pictures of her). And yes, Russo has always been bad at finishing off storylines. But there's no reason he couldn't have asked Raven, Jarrett, Rhodes, or anybody else on the roster to help him out with the blowoff of SEX/Tradition. If anything, they should have had a huge match between SEX and TNA over the future of the company, with TNA winning cleanly.
  2. I believe that, aside from being a ring announcer, he is also one of the chiefs of talent (meaning he finds wrestlers to bring in) and an executive producer of the show. Until the hiring of Sahadi (sp.?), I think Borash was the one making the video packages.
  3. While a good idea, the fans that know of TNA would see this as nothing more than a cheap ploy to get press. If anything, they need to find somebody that is a well-known name to smarks and marks alike, liked (or at least respected) by both, and a good enough worker (despite age) to make the matches interesting from the time he wins it until the time he drops it. Scott Hall might actually be the perfect choice, despite never winning the WWF Championship or the WCW World title. He is still known as both Razor Ramon and as an Outsider (you would actually be amazed at how many of my friends still call him Razor, and these are the friends that haven't watched wrestling in nearly a decade), and can work very well when motivated (and he seems to have always been motivated in TNA, most likely because of the more relaxed work schedule). What about Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart? Neither of them were ever as big as the other WWF Champions of the era, but both were seen as legitimate champions and threats to the title when they were challengers. Why? Because they were booked as GOOD WRESTLERS that knew how to work their magic in the ring. If AJ is booked the same way, then he can be seen as credible among the giants. Notice the success of the Abyss/AJ Styles feud in TNA (and yes, it was a success, as it produced good, heat-filled matches that fans wanted to see). Abyss is a HOSS~!, bah gawd, and AJ Styles is a mere cruiserweight. AJ looked legit when beating on Abyss because he played to his strengths (his speed, his wrestling ability, and his kayfabed pain tolerance) and was made to look like a threat. If the company plays to a smaller wrestler's strengths, then the smaller wrestler will look credible against larger opponents. It has changed, though. In the past 7 years, the average height of WWF/WWE Champions has gone from over 6'5", 300 lbs., to roughly 6'3", 250 lbs. Smaller wrestlers with more skill have become more prolific now than ever before, and in the next 20 years, I don't have much of a doubt that the bigger, power-based workers will be more of a sideshow attraction than the Cruiserweights are. Of course, that might just be wishful thinking, but a good worker that is of average height/weight will get over better than a shit worker that's a giant. DAMN FUCKING STRAIGHT! Hell, me and Mike have some good ideas, TNA. Hire us! Hire Triple R! Hire somebody that knows what the fans want to see and is willing to shake things up a bit to try to make the product as good as possible. But WWE is trying to be young, cool, fast, loud, and edgy. How would being what WWE is trying to be not make them look like a poor copy of WWE? The only way to not be compared to WWE is to offer better wrestling, better storylines, and a better overall product. I love the format of Impact, and I will admit that the format of most shows (with an emphasis on the matches themselves) is a good marketing standpoint to make them a viable alternative, but they do need to be tweaked and modified to make the company prosper. I dunno...I don't think Mark Calloway used to be a real zombie... Nothing new here, but Joey does further prove a point. Nobody in TNA is bringing revenue back into the company. TNA is losing money. Dead weight, in this case, would be nearly everybody, since those that could draw have been buried to the point where even their diehard fans don't watch them in TNA, and those that could never draw are still kept on the card because they can get a live reaction or two. The problem isn't so much shedding the workers that they've buried, but building the workers up to mean something. Chris Sabin went from the supposed savior of the X-Division to being just another X-Division wrestler, and AJ Styles went from two-time NWA Heavyweight champion of the World to feuding with a midcard heel, and losing his X-Division title to two non-X workers. Nothing in the past year of TNA's existence has proven to me that it is run by smart and savvy people that are capable of turning TNA into a profitable company. The company needs a shakeup from the roster to the writing staff and back again, and will not go anywhere without one. Either Mantel needs to get fired, or JJ needs to get a career ending injury, before big changes can occur. Corey Lazarus.
  4. Given the other possible ends to SEX? Yes. It's either they drop it altogether, have the faces suddenly win (which wouldn't have fit with the angles going on at the time too much), or have SEX break up from within. Regardless, SEX should have been broken up by inner turmoil affecting a big match between members of SEX and uppercard members of the TNA faithful.
  5. D. Gulf Station convenience store They'd probably have some decent snacks and health bars and such, plus various healthy beverages like V8 Splash and SoBe, so you'd be able to keep your energy up without clogging your arteries.
  6. The biggest flaw in SEX vs. Tradition was its ending. Russo just went "oh, hey, SEX is no more" when he returned and sided with AJ Styles. If the inner-turmoil between Siaki and Gilberti escalated, we could have seen some decent stuff, with Siaki's SEX team against Glenn's SEX team, albeit both under different names (if any group names at all), and then they could all eventually go their seperate ways.
  7. If that is when you consider the downfall starting, then I'd say it's coincidental. Credible wasn't a superb main eventer, but with the ECW roster at the time, the only new people to the main event that the fans would buy - that were in ECW full-time and not just imports here and there - would have been Rob Van Dam and Justin Credible. Van Dam was already in the main event, as his matches were pushed over the World title matches (though not the last show on the card), but him being in a bout for the World title would have just been a formality.
  8. I see the door. White doorway frame, cream colored walls, door made of oak and painted brown, with beige panels. The floor is wooden, polished, and the knob is recently polished brass.

    Guilty Pleasures

I like Scatman Crothers in general. Nobody should feel guilty for liking Scatman though. I think we're thinking of different Scatman's. I'm thinking Scatman John, and unless his last name is Crothers...yeah. SKI-BA-BOP-BA-DO-BOP.
  10. Early last year, there wasn't much reason to not order the shows. Sure, the SEX vs. Tradition angle was a ripoff of nWo vs. WCW, but it was booked differently, with SEX being primarily younger, lesser-known talents that were unified instead of being older, over-the-hill wrestlers that made their names in a different company. The only BIG name on the active roster of SEX was BG James, really, and he was only in SEX for a month or two before leaving TNA for a little bit because his dad left. And my point? SEX brought exciting television. In today's market, the viewer wants a blend of sports entertainment and great wrestling. TNA had that blend to near perfection just over a year ago. What happened?
  11. B. Go back in there, no disguise, but with a can of pepper spray. Spray the guards, and then sneak up behind Anchorage and break a chair over his back.
  12. Rebuttal: Perhaps, but I do believe we'd see the Crash TV concept that got him over, but blended with old-school in-ring action. The main events of PPVs would almost always have some sort of stipulation, too, considering HHH has to know that his best matches have been gimmick matches (Ladder match v. Rock, SSlam 98; Street Fight v. Cactus, Rumble 00; HIAC v. Cactus, NWO 00; Iron Man v. Rock, Judgment Day 00; etc.). We'd also see less varied wrestling than we even have now, as Hunter doesn't like any style but technical wrestling and old-school brawling.
  13. Shark Boy would have actually gotten some people to see a wrestler dressed as a shark, figure he's probably entertaining, and watched the show. Remember, TNA's business model is not to make money and be successful, but to...ah fuck, I don't even know what their business model is anymore.
  14. Actually, I'm surprised I didn't think of this one. The Naturals do have solid chemistry together, and with the right polishing, they could become a whole lot better. Stevens has a good look and decent timing, and Douglas has nice timing and the heel schtick down pat.
  15. Personally? The first America's X-Cup 8-man was ***3/4, IMO. Before that? Ultimate X 2, which I gave ****. Before that? We're looking at Sabin/Juvi from the Super X tourney, which comes in around ***3/4 or **** (I don't agree with any more than ****, though).
  16. I guess southeastern MA/Northern RI is pretty important, considering we have a 23 (508). Boston's is only 14 (517), and Lowell's is 16 (781).
  17. I had to teach my dad about The Misfits. Who they were, what songs they played, etc. And he used to go to Plasmatics shows. That's...sad.
  18. OWNAGGGGGEEEE!!!!!! And who cares about Shane? Well, ECW fans do, considering he was the company's biggest star from 1994 until late 1995 when Raven and Dreamer became the top guys. Douglas has a pivotal part in ECW's success, so just leaving him out would be like saying "oh, Bret Hart meant nothing to Steve Austin's career."
  19. This is pretty much the WORST of the X-Division thus far. They could at least have advertise showing all three Red/Dutt matches from the Best of 3 series in full, since the 3 matches together pretty much make ONE good match. But yeah. Advertising matches that were panned by a lot of people that know who TNA are? Not good.
  20. **slowly, awkwardly, raises hand** Actually, mine's Foley, but yeah... Oh...and, uh...I'm betting Sledghammer's the queef with the fro.
  21. My condolences.
  22. Nah. I'd be more ashamed of myself if I saw them wearing Atreyu and Avenged Sevenfold shirts, personally. Especially if said Atreyu/A7X fans were holding signs that said "EMO SUCKS." ...or am I the only one that gets the joke?
  23. Hmmm...I'm thinking a new campaign... UNDERTAKER FOR AMERICA
  24. Here's a novel concept: have the two president candidates focus on what they will bring to the nation instead of trying to sling mud at one another! Hurrah!
  25. Replace SUWA and Nosawa with Marufuji and KENTA, and it's a deal. Works for me. And...who else? Unless the Havana Pitbulls are four people, you're missing two people. Also, I think Team USA should be TNA wrestlers, so I'd say it'd be Lynn, Sabin, Skipper, and Daniels again. Replace Rude with Johnny Devine, and yes!
