  1. I carried the opinion that Here Comes Your Man by The Pixies was the perfect pop song for quite a while. Now I'm not sure.
  2. Gloria: 10 Redondo Beach: 9 Birdland: 5 Free Money: 6 Kimberly: 7 Break It Up: 9 Land: 10 Elegie: 7
  3. I have Spiderland. I haven't listened to it yet. Yup.
  4. I rate albums on here for the most part right after I just listened to it, or am in the process of listening to it. And I have a weird singular brain when it comes to music where whatever I am listening to at the moment is all that's imporant with the world. I rate accordingly.
  5. Well, that's just how I reacted to it. Probably due more to the circumstances than the actual song. It's not even the best song on the album.
  6. See No Evil: 10 Venus: 10 Friction: 6 Marquee Moon: 10 Elevation: 9 Guiding Light: 10 (this is the song that, not five minutes ago, launched me into an ecstatic fit of jumping around and beating myself against a wall and shreiking with glee, utterly convinced that nothing except music matters and nothing that I could possibly do with my life could have any other importance) Prove It: 7 Torn Curtain: 8
  7. Paradise Lost: The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills
  8. Top five songs I like from bands/artists that I usually can't stand: Guns N' Roses - Estranged Alice In Chains - Got Me Wrong Allman Brothers - Whipping Post Pearl Jam - Black The Vines - Autumn Shade
  9. Whoa, good idea.
  10. Top five movies to watch when you're in an extremely depressed "humanity is scum" mood. 1. Taxi Driver 2. Mulholland Drive 3. The Lost Weekend 4. They Shoot Horses, Don't They? 5. Lost Highway
  11. Top five movies about music: 1. Almost Famous 2. Coal Miner's Daughter 3. Amadeus 4. The Producers (about a musical, not music itself, but close enough) 5. This Is Spinal Tap
  12. Mining For Gold: 7 Misguided Angel: 10 Blue Moon Revisited: 7 I Don't Get It: 9 I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry: 10 To Love Is To Bury: 5 200 More Miles: 6 Dreaming My Dreams With You: 6 Working On A Building: 8 Sweet Jane: 9 Postcard Blues: 6 Walkin' After Midnight: 8
  13. Indeed, it does not. So, uh, who do I see about this identity change?
  14. Silent films edition 1. The Passion Of Joan Of Arc 2. The General 3. Intolerance 4. Nosferatu 5. The Phantom of the Opera
  15. William Basinski - The Disintegration Loops
  16. I have decided. The Coat Is My Father it is.
  17. These two are my favorites so far.
  18. Mouse On Mars - Bib
  19. May I ask what is wrong with Maxwell's Silver Hammer?
  20. Fugazi are one of those bands that I've always been meaning to get into, but haven't gotten around to it. Also, keep in mind that when comparing their punkier stuff to their more adventurous stuff, I'm more inclined to lean towards the later.
  21. WC Fields, or Bob Dylan. Preferably a hybrid of the two.
  22. I Am Trying To Break Your Heart: 10 Kamera: 9 Radio Cure: 10 War On War: 6 Jesus Etc.: 7 Ashes Of American Flags: 9 Heavy Metal Drummer: 3 I'm The Man Who Loves You: 10 Pot Kettle Black: 7 Poor Places: 9 Reservations: 6 Hell of an album, that. Looking through this thread, I find that almost all of my ratings are way too generous. Unlike Incandenza, however, I am not nearly motivated enough to change them.
  23. Okay, so like many of you, I was once a wrestling fan, which is of course what lead to my discovery of these forums. However, also like many of you, I have outgrown my wrestling phase, and as such, need a new screen name. So, uh, think of something that is shocking or oh-so-witty, and I can commence with being born again, so to speak.
  24. Good rating. This song played a very key role in many a development in my young life.
