OK, I just heard that Clarrett is suing because the NFL is violating anti-trust laws. Now, I'm not the brightest bulb in the socket, but if the NFL were a monoply that would mean he would have nowhere else to play football. There are other leagues out there. I'm all about someone making a living, but if you put 18-year olds out on a NFL field you'd be hauling them off in body bags. Perhaps if teams were able to draft kids, keep them off the field a few years but letting them learn a team's playbook, giving them a chance to mature, and even go back to school, and giving them a decent wage (nothing seven-figured, but good enough to keep their families off the street). Years ago when I was in grade school those Choose-your-own-adventure books were big. Basically, you were a character and were on some sort of quest and got to pick your person's actions. I usued to just fly through a book and read all the bad endings. Well anyway, there was this line of books called Wizards, Warriors & You. Each book was a different adventure and you got to pick being, surprise, a wizard or warrior (I was usually the warrior first). Anyway, soon after I started getting these books from some monthly book club my school had, it got banned. End of story...

Wright placed her 18-month-old daughter in the oven in June 2002, with the setting on broil. The child received third-degree burns over 70 percent of her body. Her screams brought help from her father, who was outside the house. "The child has made a remarkable recovery, considering the injury she sustained," said District Attorney Randall Houston. The child remains in the care of relatives and still faces years of reconstructive surgery.
