Problem was LA killed SF two or three weeks prior. I think Orlando would have been a better challenge to LA, but those bitches choked the week before. Oh, yeah. The Gladiators lost in the first AFL championship game. (How do I remember this shit?...)

I agree for the most part -- especially when a NFL player holds out for more money. Now it's true that they get all of their signing bonus, but isn't the point of a contract to, you know, say "so-and-so will play for us for a number of years and in turn we'll pay them this amount of money..."?

When we took Shadow to the vet where he stayed for 10 days, the vets and techs were amazed because he red blood cell count was so low he should have been dead. It was heartbreaking the morning of his death because we had to manually feed him and give him medication, and when we put him up on the counter he began wimpering as if to say he had given up and was ready to go. It made me sick to my stomach to hear him, but a few hours later he was in peace. My only regret is that I would have been with him when he finally went -- I was in another room when he died...

Wasn't much of a game, and I didn't like the fact they had two teams from the same division play each other. Should have been an East v. West (or whatever the divisions were named) contest...

You better believe it. I'm as white as they come, but I've had some of my homiez over the years tell me about this (no, I'm not kidding). Oh, and what's odd is that about two months after Shadow died (he was a black short hair) a black long hair cat appeared at my front door in single-digit-degree weather, so of course I took him in. And two months to the day when the better half and I took Shadow to the vet to get him creamated we took Max in to get checked up/fixed/etc...

The AFL had at least one Pittsburgh team, the Gladiators, when the league started. I think there was also another team that tried to exist here but failed (this one I'm not sure of). I didn't go to an XFL game because I was in Ohio at the time (now I'm back in Pittsburgh, or at least the suburbs of that shithole), but I always watched them on NBC and TNN (didn't get UPN at the time) and I enjoyed the games. Quite a few XFL'ers got jobs in the NFL afterward...

At least your kitty lived a long, happy life. My one kitty died at age 4 back in November. We got him as a stray and he had so many things wrong with him when he got sick. He put up one hell of a fight for two months before passing, but yeah, it hurts when they go...

Yeah, some cases were real sad. I graded PA 9th grade essays for a few years and you could tell which ones came from urban areas and which ones came from the suburbs. Oddly enough, I graded one essay from a kid that went to the same high school I did and was talking about a teacher I knew when I was a student...

That decision is up to each state, but believe me, most states (SC, NC, La.) that I worked with did not have their standards set too high, although KY and MN's tests were insane, although I don't think they were high-stakes...
