1. Goldberg Vs Booker is from that stupid Nitro where they had an online poll to select who would be Booker's opponent that night and Sting won BUT evil Goldberg beat the shit out of him and was somehow inserted into the match. The match itself was nothing really special outside of Booker going over fairly cleanly- I think it only went four or five minutes (Gotta love Russo).
2. This one is my all time personal favorite Treehouse of Horror. Each segment manages to be funnier than the previous one and I'd put all three segments in my Personal Top Ten Treehouse of Horror segments if I were to make such a list. For my next pick, I'm selecting.... "Treehouse of Horror III" Shopkeeper: Take this object, but beware it has a terrible curse. Homer: Ooh that's bad. Shopkeeper: But it comes with a free frogurt! Homer: That's good! Shopkeeper: The frogurt is also cursed. Homer: That's bad. Shopkeeper: But you get your choice of toppings. Homer: That's good! Shopkeeper: The topping contains potassium benzoate Homer looks puzzled Shopkeeper: That's bad Homer: Can I go now?
3. Yeah, one of them (Can't remember if it was Vampiro or Awesome) hit the other hit the other with a cane during the audience brawl spot and then a couple of seconds later some fan tried to headbutt (!?) Mike Awesome and Stevie Ray tried to tsay the fan was upset that his cane was stolen and was justified attacking the wrestlers.
4. My two backup choices for the last two rounds are still on the board. I don't know what's up with that. Maybe everybody's forgotten them or I have terrible taste in Simpsons episode (I seriously doubt the latter)
5. Co fucking sign. I'm not buying anybody other than my parents gifts this year and I don't really have any family gatherings till the 24th so this slow weekend is killing me.
6. Unfortunately not... But that Mike Awesome Vs Vampiro match is! And you don't lie Barron. Match is funny. Especially the Stevie Ray commentary. Good lord- I don't think I've ever seen as many poorly blown spots in a match involving two wrestlers as experienced as these two.
7. King of The Ring '95 is also on Daily Motion. Don't know if I can stomach that one again though. That's just a boring, awful show. The worst kind of awful!
8. But Poison sucks!
9. And now...TSM remembers Mike Bell... Vs Bastion Booger (You have to watch this match, if only for the insane commentary by Vince, Savage, and Lawler. When Lawler compares Booger's physique to Savage's, I swear Savage says that he has "a better can". And at the end McMahon call Bastion "THE BOOGER KING" using the evil Vince voice. Hilarity) Vs Perry Saturn Vs Ted DiBiase's Undertaker (It must be solely due to the fact that I started watching in late '93/early '94 but I love Savage on commentary) With Glen Ruth Vs The Steiner Brothers
10. ...I don't get it. Here's The Colossal Connection and Bobby Heenan on The Brother Love Show
11. I took a quick glance at the Rock Band Draft and I can no longer argue for this folder being more inclusive. Yeesh. Dio and Journey being picked in the first round? The Beach Boys and The Byrds haven't been picked but Poison has!? Befuddling and upsetting even by wrestling board music draft standards.
12. Yeah, I was more offended by Scroby's tangent than anything Jaxl said in the thread (though 9 times out of 10, I absolutely hate when people say something's going to suck before it even comes out). Scroby's tangent went under the radar because he never out and out said that he didn't want to see the movie because there'd be a ton of black people talking in the theatre. He just said a idiots in general talking aloud during a Notorious BIG biopic and everybody put two and two together. Or perhaps he really just was talking about dumb people in general and I'm being the racist for assuming he was talking about blacks, you make the call TSM.
13. Say something nice about the following posters; Matt Young Marvinisalunatic gary floyd bob_barron King Kamala I'm not sure if I've ever asked you this before but favorite blaxploitation movie?
14. Bumping this up to see if there's any interest whatsoever in reviving this, at least temporarily. I've got a lot of free time thanks to winter break and wouldn't mind putting together another one. I'm currently scouring Daily Motion to find shows to do. The best I've found so far is what looks to be a mostly complete episode of Prime Time Wrestling from March '92 featuring Shawn Michaels Vs The British Bulldog, Repo Man Vs Jimmy Snuka, and The Undertaker Vs Colonal Mustafa (Taker Vs Sheik? I'm sold). Probably best if we do this in two weeks after the Christmas rush has died down.
15. I wasn't planning on going with this episode because I had assumed it had gotten picked. An absolute steal in Round Five IMHO. I'm going to go with another great episode from what is perhaps the best season of the show, Season Five. This may be the greatest Mr. Burns centered episode ever. I also find the ending to it oddly touching. "Rosebud" Season Five, Episode Four Burns: I'm sure we can come to an understanding. Homer: Yes, sir. [thinking] Reject the first offer. Reject the first offer. Burns: May I offer you a drink? Homer: Sorry, Burns, no deal. (A few minutes later, Homer is back at house, cracking.) Homer: (Grabbing the phone) I gotta call Burns! I gotta call Burns! Maybe I can still get that drink.
16. Which female Muppet would you rather fuck; Miss Piggy or Janice, the bass player for The Electric Mayhem?
17. It's not as if I don't want to see Doubt. It's just that it's playing in town. No need to go ninety minutes to see it. The Dark Knight isn't and it especially isn't in IMAX! I think I can convince him, his Batman instincts will override his theater major instincts!
18. I was surprised to find that this is still playing at the IMAX in Boston and will be there for at least the rest of the month. Me and a couple of buds are going down there the week after Christmas and I'm going to try my damndest to convince them to go but for some reason one of 'em is intent on seeing Doubt even though it'll be playing here in Portland when we go.
19. Yeah, The Wrestler ('70s movie) is one of those movies that isn't all that great (it isn't as terrible as the other movies I mentioned thought- just kind of mediocre) but it has a couple of really cool scenes. Sadly, I'd say at this point, obviously not having seen this current Wrestler, it's probably the best wrestling movie. Night and The City is an awesome movie but I just can't call it a wrestling movie.
20.

Bob, does it make me less of an American if I have to wait for the DVD to be released to see that movie? Closest it was playing was 90 minutes away and for some reason, I couldn't convince anyone to drive. Open question; will the greatness of this movie make up for the crappiness of Ready To Rumble, No Holds Barred, and The Wrestler (Ed Asner and Verne Gagne '70s movie)?
21. I'll do concert of the year. Top Three instead of the usual Top Five since I only went to five or six shows overall this year. 3. Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers with Stevie Winwood, June 13th at The TD Banknorth Garden in Boston, MA (Crossed off one of the bands on my "Acts I have to see before they croak" list with Petty. Rock solid greatest hits sets from both groups.) 2. Bob Dylan, May 17th at The Colisee in Lewiston, ME (Great setlist, great performance. Great seeing Dylan in a relatively small venue in the middle of nowhere but the whole thing was hampered by a weird as hell audience. 1. Gnarls Barkley with Hercules and a Love Affair, August 6th at The Wilbur Theatre in Boston, MA
22. Hmmm draft is moving real slow lately. We should start PMing each other when our picks are up.
23. Can't say. I honestly didn't know there was much interest since it always ended up being me, you, Timmy, and one or two other assorted people who wandered into the chat. I have a shitload of free time over the next month or so, so if there's an interest I'm open to the idea of starting it back up.
24. Yeah I haven't seen it since I saw it in theaters three years ago but I remember him beating the snot out of Ludacris. Maybe he just beat up Larenz Tate though (or whoever played Ludacris' buddy in Crash). My recollections of the movie are the same as yours plus the weird Tony Danza cameo as the racist TV producer.
25. didn't he just get shot and survive, and have a lot of puppies at the end? what's everybody's favorite dog death in a movie? mine is 'magnolia'. I don't think I have a favorite dog death per say but my favorite dog death on film related moment was when I saw American Gangster and No Country For Old Men on back to back nights, both of which feature Josh Brolin shooting a dog. It harkened back to the Summer of '05 when I saw Hustle and Flow and Crash in a one week period and saw Terrence Howard beat the shit out of Ludacris in both movies.
