I said this in another thread but the Regal/Edge feud was the Rick Martel/Tatanka feud of the '00s. Two competent workers stuck in a heatless feud that produces oddly boring matches for months on end.

OK, I was just thinking which two wrestlers/teams have had the worst series of matches against each other. My gut reaction is Giant Gonzalez Vs The Undertaker but then I remembered they really only had two matches. Upon further thought, I'm going to have to go with The Nasty Boys Vs Harlem Heat. Now I know none of their matches were egregiously bad like Taker/Gonzalez but none of them were remotely good either. They were just forgettable dreck, the worst kind of dreck there is. And it seems like they fought each other on every other WCW show from '94 to '97 just awful. This series is why I always thought WCW had a much weaker tag division than WWF as a mark (though in retrospect, it didn't). Runner up is Sid Vs Kevin Nash. They fought in WWF a buncha time, fought in WCW a buncha times. Fought matches where Sid was heel and Nash was babyface. Fought matches where Nash was heel and Sid was babyface. But never did they have a match that wasn't terrible. So what say you, TSM?

Greatest Wrestler to never win a World Singles title
King Kamala replied to Undertaker's Urn's topic in General Wrestling
Yeah, that's why I qualify TNA as a World title but not ECW. ECW fulfills the first two requirements (well...at least in the last year or two) but I don't think it fulfills the last one. I can't recall the ECW World Champion ever defending the belt overseas. I also count AWA as a World Title up until the bitter end even though it didn't really fulfill that 2nd requirement (Regular PPVs weren't really feasible). -
Yep, The Secret Life of Toys was spun off from that movie and debuted a year or two before Toy Story.

You know what Christmas special they never show on TV anymore? Jim Henson's The Christmas Toy. One of my all-time favorites. It just came out on DVD but it's not on Netflix! Bullshit! I demand answers! I might have to buy it on DVD...only $9 on Amazon. And man, I didn't realize as a kid how much Toy Story ripped this one off.

I can't believe I neglected to mention "Jive Soul Bro" in the "Greatest Wrestling Theme" thread a couple weeks back. For shame!

Woah! The Slickster is a senior citizen? He looked really good for his age the last time I saw him on TV about a year ago. Happy Birthday Doctor of Style!

Greatest Wrestler to never win a World Singles title
King Kamala replied to Undertaker's Urn's topic in General Wrestling
IIRC- PWI stripped it of its World title status at the bitter end of the promotion's run (Late '90/early '91). -
My sleeper pick for this year's tournament; Socksquatch.

I remember I was upset when I got snuffbox'd during the first round of the Best Poster tournament last year. My outburst, IMHO, is what cost me a spot in the Elite Eight. Honestly, I'd be happy to match my Sweet Sixteen appearance last year.

ROH Nashville Results - December 6, 2008
King Kamala replied to lee_hero's topic in General Wrestling
He headlines what are basically glorified backyard wrestling shows in Northern Maine quite a bit. I always wonder who exactly would pay pay $12 to see one Bushwhacker and what exactly happened to Butch. -

Doesn't Bushwhacker Luke have a hand in booking ROH? I think that has to be the reason he's on that card. At least he's not putting himself on top. -
The finish to last night's Nasty Boys-Flair Brothers match. Looks like everybody showed up. Got to love Hogan's sleeveless referee shirt and the fact that he didn't take off the bandana.

The Smart Marks Greatest Song of the 60s Tournament. Round 5
King Kamala replied to Youth N Asia's topic in Music
"I Heard It Through The Grapevine" (Marvin wins this one out for me as I think "Respect" is a tad bit more overplayed and I like Marvin a tad more overall than Aretha) "A Day In The Life" "God Only Knows" "Gimme Shelter" -
With my first pick, I'm going to go with one that is IMHO the last classic episode that the show produced. It also was the debut of the much beloved minor character Duff Man! "The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson" Season Nine, Episode One Homer: And that's when the C.H.U.D.s came after me.

I'm going to go with the other Land Down Under, home of Peter Jackson and The Bushwhackers... New Zealand

The Smart Marks Greatest Song of the 60s Tournament
King Kamala replied to Youth N Asia's topic in Music
Eight was probably a bit of an overstatement, as off the top of my head I can come up with four: "Someday Never Comes" "Lodi" "I Put A Spell On You" "Bad Moon Rising" There are probably one or two more out there. I actually like Creedence quite a bit. I'm really only familiar with the singles, but I still think that Fortunate Son is hands better than most of what they did. What's a good album to start with? I'd rather avoid their endlessly tedious rendition of I Heard It Through The Grapevine. I'm partial to Green River myself. -
Went to a midnight showing of Enter The Dragon last night and man I can't believe I forgot how badass that movie was. I only saw it once before when I was 12/13ish and I guess pubescent KK didn't fully appreciate it. What other Bruce Lee movies should I check out? I'm 99% sure I haven't seen any of his others and if I did it was years ago.

Two reasons and I'm not 100% sure either one is correct. One is I think Rikishi went down with another injury around that time. Second, I vaguely remember The Brothers of Destruction Vs Rikishi and Haku being a potential matchup for WrestleMania X-7 and then hearing a rumor that The Undertaker complained about being in such a low profile match up for the huge show in his hometown. And that was a pretty badass team. I really thought they were both finally going places. Haku/Meng(or King Tonga if you weel) had never really properly utilized IMHO by WWF or WCW and it looked like it might happen with this team but then Rikishi gets injured and he's stuck with Sunday Night Heat and Jakked duty until he gets released a couple years later.

I guess but I thought Catholics only didn't eat meat on Fridays during Lent. It's not Lent already, is it? I should know this. I'm sure my Irish Catholic great grandparents are rolling over in their graves as I type this. There is one good byproduct of lent though; Spicy Fish Sandwiches at Arby's!
-
Man, cafeteria dinners on Friday nights really suck. It's like the staff assume we're going to be home for the weekend or are just going to drink too much and throw it up later that night. Fish sticks, shitty fries, and peas. Peas...now that's one vegetable that hasn't gotten better as I've grown older.

TSM 646th most popular board of all time
King Kamala replied to CanadianChris's topic in No Holds Barred
I'm still stuck on the notion of a baby names message board. The kind of person that asks strangers on the internet what they should name their kid shouldn't be allowed to have children. -
