How exactly was ECW One Night Stand a disappointment? It was probably the best PPV of the year because it was a WRESTLING SHOW and not a retarded wrestling/entertainment hybrid and reminded me why I was a wrestling fan, a feeling that RAW the next night promptly killed again. It wasn't any more of a "wrestling" show than any other WWE PPV this year. In fact, ONS probably had the least amount of wrestling of any three-hour wrestling PPV ever (less than an hour of bell-to-bell time). But I can understand why that was, since they had three hours to get so many guys on the show and they couldn't have them all wrestle. However, I was disappointed with the show because while it reminded me of ECW, it didn't remind me of the best of ECW, since overall there was a real "WWE" feel to the show.

They also changed the Godwinns theme at WM13. That one doesn't bother me.

Yeah, I know. But they kind of ruined that by having Austin pin Big Show the week before WM15. A match isn't going to be the modern day Hogan/Andre when give it away on free TV and job the monster heel in his second match. I remember reading around October '99 that they wanted to do Austin/Rock again at WM.

HTQ, do you know, had the Survivor Series '99 match gone as planned, and I'm aware that WWF knew weeks beforehand that Austin couldn't wrestle, but if he wasn't hurt, would Austin have won the title there? I remember reading back then that they wanted to do Austin/Rock at WM2000, but I'm not sure if that was true.

In this case I believe him. It has many of the hallmarks of a Russo WCW angle: (1) Kill the title. (2) Push the wrong guy. (3) SWERVE the fans. (4) Rip off the WWF (since the Royal Rumble was just a week later). So I'll give him this one.

Well, did Meltzer or anyone else ever report anything differently as far as the Souled Out finish goes? The way you worded your first post seems to indicate that he's not telling the truth about this story.

What do you mean, "latest spin"? I always thought that was the story. That's what he said in his RF shoot a couple of years ago, so it's not a new story.

I'm sure the contract for Limp Bizkit to perform at WMXIX said that WWE has the right to use this performace on any future video releases, blah blah blah, but their agreement to use the recording of "Rollin'" has expired. What gets me is that for some reason, at WMVIII, they replaced Flair's WWF theme, which they own, with his classic/current theme, which they don't own. And I'm sure WWE doesn't have any copyright issues with that one, since they've used it in video and game releases (my VHS copy of No Mercy 2002 uses it, as well as Day of Reckoning for Gamecube).

This anti-American Angle stuff is so bad. They're using the troops to get a guy over because that's the only way they know how to get a guy over, mega cheap heat. This is quite possibly the lamest, most tasteless thing they've done......all week.
