  1. It amazes me that Jason David Frank (Green Ranger, White Ranger/I think another one or two more) was on that show for like ten damn years in its various incarnations. Oh, and on a similar note--what happens when Japan gets ahold of Spiderman... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0w3LTEJZ2ig
  2. *agrees with all of the above....okay, except for Orton.*
  3. Long-ass goofy sounding latino name - stolen from Married with Children's Miranda Veracruz de la Jolla Cardenal.
  4. Well, I did some more digging: http://www.joystiq.com/2006/05/15/the-enga...s-perrin-kaplan So there you go. TWIIlight Princess adds Wiimote functionality, but if you feel safer with the GC/classic controller, you're welcome to use that. I suspect the "classic" controller is basically just a reconfigured GC controller, then.
  5. I'm with you there, and *nobody* seems to have the answer. If the Wii version only *adds* features, not replacing them, logically you would have a choice, especially because some people may opt for the widescreen but may not be ready to adjust to the wiimote for standard gameplay. If the answer is yes, the choice is easy. If the answer is no, you'd probably have to have some hands-on time with the game to know for sure.
  6. Yes, as I mentioned previously. Answered already by later posters, but yeah. Wolvie also has heightened senses, such as hearing and smell. Also, I think currently the bone claws can and should be considered as part of Wolvie's base mutant abilities. X-23 (created from Wolvie's DNA in an attempt to reproduce the Weapon X project) also had claws made of bone, which were later treated with adamantium.
  7. The PS3 thread was really getting off topic, so instead of posting the full article here, bumping this one. Info from the new EGM from a gamespot poster: http://www.gamespot.com/pages/unions/read_...84&union_id=181
  8. Beast wasted all of them on Magneto. There were dozens of cure guns with probably around 6 shots in each. ArcLight just broke the guns apart, and didn't obliterate the cure vials. They could have found more.
  9. I'm not sure as far as definition, but he's always been pretty massive. He was that huge guy in Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels, which was his acting debut. He does *seem* a hell of a lot larger, though.
  10. Well, even if Rogue wasn't off getting cured, she doesn't have superstrength/flight/invulnerability in the movies. Colossus not getting to whoop some ass was severely disappointing, especially since friggin' Kitty went after Juggs. I guess then we wouldn't have gotten "I'm the Juggernaut, bitch!" though.
  11. It would have been impossible to sneak up on her because of her psychic abilities, and even if Wolvie hid it behind his back or something, her power would have shattered the needle/vial. He could only get that close because of his healing factor, and had about a second or so at that where he had the chance to attack her. Even assuming he somehow got that close to her with it and it wasn't destroyed, she could have blocked it with a psychic barrier, and turned it on him. Everyone would have been screwed then.
  12. I think one of the writers played the Darkstalkers games. The Phoenix thing is basically Lilith's origin.
  13. Saw it long time ago, and yes--more random comments like that would have done it wonders. "Ooooh noooo!~ I got this helmet in the 4th grade!" "Feel the wrath of daughter of bret hart!" "Now, where is this Juggernaut mother****er, I will crush him." There's a handful of funny lines spread across 9 minutes of mostly-idiotic swearing. It's way funnier in the movie, even if you don't get the reference.
  14. Cue angry fangirl deluge of letters: "HE'S NO WAY HOTTR THAN MY SEFFIE!"
  15. I somewhat agree but don't totally agree with this. Anya and I both can appreciate a good bad movie, so even if your acting and writing blows, if you do something crazy, unique, or over-the-top funny we can find redeeming value in it. However, Deathstrike/Wolvie was a damn fun fight that beat any single fight in X3. The final showdown in X3 was too much of a jumbled mess to really enjoy to the same degree. However, X2 totally deviated from the comics as well. Face it, Singer was going to make Phoenix an alternate personality too. It's right there. Wolvie never met Deathstrike prior to X2--so she's a brainwashed science project of Stryker's, not a former flame who became a cyborg. That's okay with me, really, since it wasn't going to fit in with the triangle they were going for in X2, nor did it fit the movie's tone.
  16. Found about this site in a Nintendo Power issue--metal versions of Metroid songs: http://www.metroidmetal.com/songs.htm

I suspect it is the same game other than the controls. The GC version is just nintendo fulfilling their promise to deliver a GC version.

Damaramu fears change. Damn straight. So will the GC version of Twilight Princess suck or be basically the same? It won't be as pretty or support the wiimote. That much is known. It's unknown if there will be any added dungeons or other bonuses added to the wii version, or whether it supports the GC controller. It should be in the new EGM, but I haven't seen it out yet.
  19. Correction: yeah, my HV is clearing out their VHS tapes, but there's a good number of them that will be kept, and have "rental only" stickers. This includes most of the classics section and a handful of others. Don't ask me why I can't buy "Honey" but other, better, more popular movies I can. Anyway, here's my haul for today. Westerns for my dad: Hondo High Noon The Missouri Breaks Stuff I got: Reanimator Ringu 2 Taste the Blood of Dracula (there's other Hammer tapes I'm going to snatch up tomorrow, but they didn't have the original. I'm going to make a list up using imdb and see if they have them). At another store I got Vertigo and Dial M for Murder. I hoped to add North by Northwest, but HV has it as a rental only. I could get The 39 Steps, but its nearly impossible to get early Hitch stuff that doesn't look horrible.

I know Smash Bros Brawl will have traditional gameplay, supporting the GC controller and the classic-style controller. I'll admit that I'm curious whether other games will do that as well. For example, it would be extremely easy to do so with Twiilight Princess because they already have that scheme setup for the GC version.
  21. X2 was on today (yeah, it's been on TV a million times...but...). Anyone catch Ian's little hype clips on some of the new characters? The one on Angel is hilarious. He makes him sound like he's going to be some sort of badass in it.

    ok, fine.
  23. I expected you would have a Smash Bros. series. Mr. Green has some good attacks there. I was glad to see Luigi become a main character in Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga, but he gets no respect there either. Partners in Time makes it clear that Mario seemed to be the one that was the born hero, while Luigi was a bit more of a coward. Defeated by 2-2 BIRDO, though? Tell your friend he totally sucks.
  24. Orlando, the pedophile. Part of Rocky Johnson's training criteria?
  25. My HV still has tons of tapes on their shelves, and don't appear to be pulling much VHS stuff. Most of the stuff that is going is crap that is easily available on DVD. They have an excellent horror and foreign section, and my Dad likes renting westerns a lot. So far they're not going anywhere.
