It became most known on GameCube, to the point that I associate it with GC. Like SF2. It was never on Dreamcast. Arcade first, then GC.

Fake. And I still <3 you, Yuna, but come on--AICN?! That sounds like the kind of drivel Harry Knowles might have written up if it was him, though.

Venk: Dunno. I've never seen them ever carry them around here. However, a Gamestop near Century III mall carries about a dozen NES copies of Top Gun, and a few other NES games nobody would ever pay to play. They actually had some good ones for a while, and they absolutely vanished.

GBA is getting "Capcom Mini Mix" for $19.99. It is the NES versions of Bionic Commando, Strider, and Mighty Final Fight. It could be easily called Capcom's Sloppy Seconds, but at least those games are different entities than their arcade counterparts (and in BC's case, better). Plus, it sure as hell beats the NES Classics in bang-for-buck.

...as of June 1st. Now, that in and of itself wouldn't be so bad (the trade-in prices suck at those places, and you'd have to be an idiot to bite for them unless you just want to get rid of them), but the entire inventory of it at my EB was "relocated" to "a store that has more room." Yet, we have room for music cds nobody is buying, and they're overflowing with crappy DVDs people aren't buying. So, get any PS1/N64 games you were considering picking up now before you're forced to order it online.

No it isn't. However, while many people are "eh" on Monkey Ball, it's a Sega property, which means if it is confirmed then it makes it all the more likely to have Sonic. Gamecube is getting Monkey Ball Adventure, which is a full-blown story-based action game.

New rumored additions to SSBB roster: Aiai (from Super Monkey Ball), Captain Omar (from Pikmin), Viewtiful Joe, Waluigi (Luigi's evil counterpart). I'm trying to get a confirmed source on it. Supposedly it's IGN, but I can't find it on their page.

Sonic Wildfire (for Wii) Gameplay Vid: Some collision needs to be worked out there of course (I swear he's running right through some spikes), but it's already apparent: Rings = health, but when you take damage you just lose x number of rings, instead of dropping all of them and having them scatter. There's still sections of the game where you start flying off in the "right" direction automatically. I'm not so hot about that idea (especially since you can accidentally steer him into certain death if it takes you by surprise), but if they're well done and kept to a minimum it shouldn't be a major problem. The homing attack seems back, as well as the Speed Rush from Sonic Rush, in some form at least. Looks okay, but I still have my doubts we'll see a 3D Sonic done right. At least this looks to be a step in the right direction.

the Smash Bros. character speculation I guess has officially kicked into high gear. I vote for ths guy: http://segata.iespana.es/grafics/segata01.jpg

I'm wondering if Samus will be like... OMG SPOILERS!!! Pit and ZSS have weird two-in-one weapons. Dual blades/bow and gun/sabre--neat. Peter Moore takes a jab at Sony: http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20060511/tc_nm/...b2MwBHNlYwM3Mzg

Portrait of Ruin vids are really looking awesome. There are screens with one character on the screen at a time, but there's also a movie with both characters on the screen at the same time, so it looks like there may very well be 2 player wi fi coop. Joy! There's too much awesomeness being displayed. My brain is broke and I need more synonyms for awesome.

A new DS kirby, this time a traditional platformer. Apparently you can mix powers now: http://www.gamespot.com/ds/action/kirby2/index.html A ton of movies and pics from various DS games, including Megaman ZX, CV: Portrait of Ruin, Yoshi's Island 2, Mario Hoops 3 on 3, Children of Mana, the new DS FF games, DQ Rocket Slime, etc. etc. Just click the link and pick out something you like: http://www.gamespot.com/e3/e3games.html?pl...=popular&page=1

Are they going to let you beat up a Nintendog? That ain't right. Pit and Wario FTW. Snake is quite the shock, considering that HK has apparently not been too fond of Nintendo.

Hands-on info: Mario vs. DK 2...which doesn't play like the original or DK '94. Hm, okay... http://e3.1up.com/do/previewPage?cId=3150647 Elite Beat Agents, which, yes, is the US Ouendan. Yes, the soundtrack is changed, but the gameplay is still good: http://e3.1up.com/do/previewPage?cId=3150650 (Okay, this one wasn't hands-on..) Metal Gear Portable Ops, for those who care about that sort of thing. : http://e3.1up.com/do/previewPage?cId=3150639 LEGEND OF ZELDA PHANTOM HOURGLASS!!!!!!!!!! http://www.1up.com/do/previewPage?cId=3150637 In a weird, and rather unexpected twist, control is based entirely on the style/touch screen. Hmmm...reading over how it actually works, it definitely sounds interesting, but now more than ever I'll need a larger stylus for my large hands (which comes with the DS Lite, fortunately). I'm surprised there's no word about a US developer picking up Jump Superstars. Sonic on Wii, which is a totally different game than the 360/PS3 title: http://www.1up.com/do/previewPage?cId=3150674 No real info or footage to show, but Golden Ax is getting a revamp on PS3/360 in 2007 (with a teaser trailer to be shown later at e3), and there's a Shadowrun sequel for 360 (there have been teaser screens, and everybody who actually has heard of the damn game is crossing their fingers hoping it's not just a generic FPS with no gameplay similarity at all to the original).

How ya mean? DC also had analog triggers. Unless it's just the angle I'm looking at it on, it doesn't appear it will be like that.

And if he has, he's dreamed of saving the princess over and over and over and over and over and over and over, etc, etc, etc..... I've been going through many an emotional stage, and after tossing and turning for several hours, I have gotten myself a good 5 hours sleep in each of the past nights, thank you. I'm giving the EB folks time to update their systems so I can change my preorder, then I'll call to check what the dealy-o is with it. However, many of the press folks commented that it seemed a bit less than intuitive with the Wiimote. Worst case scenario--it's still perfectly playable with the shell, just prettier on Wii. On a related note... http://www.todojuegos.com/modules/coppermi..._classicpad.jpg A close up view of the Shell shows that we do indeed have two inner triggers...which doesn't look terribly practical, but I guess we'll see. However, this does even it up with the PS2/3 pad, giving us 4 triggers, 4 face buttons, a dpad, two analogs, and two other buttons. Home/Analog not really counting, anyway. I'll miss the well-designed analog triggers of GC, though.

Umm, can some explain this to me. I don't have HD, but 1080 is interlaced and 1080p is progressive scan. Some info on i v. p http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-6449-6361600-1.html I haven't the faintest clue about 720p except that it is like supposed to be the bestest.

It's like the old school platformer is finally coming back from near-death, and in a big way. Another 16-bit classic gets revived... The original developer being back on board is promising, although Shiny has managed to piss away their good rep from the EWJ games by releasing mediocre to bad games that had rad concepts but failed big time in execution. Plus, the EWJ series really floundered post-EWJ2, with 2 terrible games (EWJ 3D and EWJ Menace 2 the Galaxy) and some terrible handheld ports (Majesco managed to screw up ports of the 16 bit EWJ games, which is freakin' amazing but unsurprising). However, Lara did it, and the PoP series did it in spectacular fashion, so we could see something grand afterall.

"Do you, Peach...." http://www.nintendo.co.jp/n10/e3_2006/gc/0...ario/img/04.jpg There's vid footage of Super Paper Mario, plus another GC title, DK Bongo Blast. I wonder if this means the GC Kirby may see the light of day? http://www.nintendo.co.jp/n10/e3_2006/gc/

While TP using the Wiimote is great and all, it isn't built from the ground-up as a Wii game, and is isn't going to be a heavy multiplayer game, which would make sense considering the direction Nintendo wants to go with the Wii.

A console's premier fighting game doesn't make launch...the more things change... Too bad MS didn't have it ready last year at Jpn launch when it could have made a real impact.
-
By that do you mean from Japanese devs? DOA Xtreme 2 is going to retain the gameplay from XBV, but now will have jetskiing. Blue Dragon hasn't popped up yet. Other stuff is old news. Anya--you get DOAX2 and online UMK3--aren't you glad you got a 360 now?

Big McLargeHuge: Early adopters will siphon up the PS3 launch systems. Well, at least the "real" ones. Demand will determine how long that price lasts. I'm sure Sony has targets projected already, and if they hit them continually they'll keep the price the same. From what I understand MS is phasing out the Cores. Sony surely isn't going to make the Tard Pack PS3 incapable of being upgraded, right? They surely will follow MS' lead and make the 60 gb HD/Hi-def functionality/removeable memory a single CIP, right? So that customers can upgrade at their own discretion, right? You can make the Core 360 identical to functionality to the Premium, but if the base hardware of the PS3 are two totally different machines, Sony messed up big time. The Nintendo price point is still a tiny mystery, but the best guesses are $199 low to $250 high. I think that depends on the pack-in game, if any. I suspect identical HW with an option to purchase a packed-in Smash Bros. for the additional $50. Mario Galaxy may be a good bet too, but a multiplayer game seems to fit in better with Nintendo's MO.
