  1. There's usually far more problems with the "hated poor wrestler" other than their ring work. For example, Steiner was so horrible that marks couldn't even stand his matches, plus he sucks as a face. His mic skills suck. WWE gave fans no reason to care about him and had extremely silly build up to his match with Trips. This made his feud with HHH a disaster. I've covered Nash and Trips already.
  2. When a wrestler is, such as in the case of Nash: aren't over are so injury-prone that you end up spending extended periods out of time injured from being too old and broken down to stay an active competitor never was a draw even when heavily pushed and more healthy didn't earn a fucking thing and was just shoved into the main event spot because of friendships/the boss liking you. AND.... in the case of HHH When you aren't over enough to justify your push are so injury-prone that you end up spending extended periods out of time out because of injury from too roided up and poorly conditioned haven't been a draw as champion enough to justify a long title reign and your booking cuts the knees out from under midcarders who should be pushed as credible threats... ...then if you suck in the ring, there's just another reason. Everyone on the roster should bring something to the table. Ring-work, charisma, a unique style that the fans dig (even if it isn't "good" necessarily), a cool persona, drawing power, etc. HHH isn't completely unfit as champion, but the booking of him is extremely counterproductive, and he won't stay away long enough to fully recover from his injuries (if that's possible). His matches are often boring, but that's just a minor annoyance. If he was booked to look somewhat vulnerable and had challengers that the fans could get behind that looked credible he could have have great money-drawing feuds. Nash has mic skills, but only playing a laid-back character. The interviews he did made him look like a stupid-ass and the entire HHH-Nash feud was a hokey disaster. Then of course, there are guys like Nathan Jones, who bring NOT A FUCKING THING to the table and deserve to be fired for total uselessness.
  3. Buffy Sakura Yuna SweetN'SexyDiva... Uh...that's all I know of.
  4. The whole season was an Al Bundy nightmare.
  5. Or have a Johnny Cash-style theme. He'd be the Man in Black rising out of the ring of fire. Oh wait... *remembers Wrestlemania the Album, has horrible flashbacks*
  6. Yeah--maybe RVD can work for WWE giving yoga classes to the other wrestlers or something.
  7. bps = an RVD-hater's worst nightmare: an RVD mark with good arguments.
  8. Yeah, you're supposed to work with the opponent, not expose him. Plus as the heel and the vet he controlled the match. RVD's not a great worker but HHH is heavily to blame for that match. Again, when in WWE are good ring skills required for a push?
  9. Well, it is "Debona." And all boning or references to boning are the sole domain of Mr. and Mrs. Stephanie McMahon.
  10. Yeah--you Gamestop fucks are fucking thieves. On 99.999999999% of trade-ins Gamestop fucks you over. Trade in something used in pretty good condition that could sell for 15 or so...you get 7, 8, 5? "Uh..here's $1.50 in store credit and a piece of lint. Have a nice day!" You trade something in and then they put it on the shelves for seven times as much. That's why I sell online. Don't ever bother with tradestop.com by the way, they're even worse. Of course, anyone who buys a game with certain logos on the box (Acclaim, any EA wrestling game, etc) and is shocked when it sucks is either stupid, stubborn, or new to gaming. So generally I don't have much sympathy in those cases. I don't like Ehrgeiz, a.k.a. The Game Formerly Known As Ehrgeiz But Just Call it Final Fantasy VII The Fighter Made by Shameless Fucking Corporate Whores Squaresoft. It's not very similar at all, but then again I didn't have instructions for Ehrgeiz.
  11. "Nope and Cena will get the win at Survivor Series although I thought he was going to win last night." I thought that when a heel wins, the feud continues, but when a face wins then teh feud is over? Exceptions of course exist, like Trips, but in general...
  12. Well, Nathan Jones' only trace of existence is appearing in the S.D.! opening, and sightings from terrified fans who have seen him here and there (probably developmentals).
  13. The dead man will return to be GM. No, not Taker, Al Wilson! I'd settle with about the same level of wrestling, but for the angles to involve wrestlers.
  14. I was thinking more of Buu. However, if Dragon shows up after this, we know he just regurgitated him so he's not dead or anything. UnderKirby would only be able to hold one Cruiser and his set of skills at a time, though.
  15. Because they don't need it, and neither does Trips. Of course, if we discount the theory that Trips is on roids but his body can't handle it, then there's something else causing all the muscle-related injuries. Regardless, Trips has no reason to look the way he does. His ring style doesn't require him to be bulky and muscular. It's just the style of a poor man's Ric Flair, and doesn't have a lot of power moves mixed in which would at least justify his appearance. Plus, he was fine in 99/00 anyway. Well, Taker has built up a lot of good will and respect with Vince from working with him for so long. On the other hand, HHH isn't as secure and is always paranoid about anyone that might show up to take his spot. So him taking time off to shoot movies surprises me--but I guess he figures his position is secured at the altar. I have no interest in him at all, but if marrying Steph will cause him to be less paranoid and more motivated in helping out his opponents, then I can put up with him for the year or so longer he'll be around until he's forced to retire from all the accumulated injuries.
  16. Join her hubby on Raw. I wish I had a job where you can fuck up your job constantly, and the worst that can happen is that you just have to work somewhere else but get more status and power. Actually, it's practically a promotion since Austin goes from being co-GM to full-blown GM.
  17. Austin, duh.
  18. Yeah, plus I heard he doesn't want to return to the old gimmick and I think he's probably a lot happier working his current style anyway--we sure as hell are. Off topic, I hear reports of how good hte match with Brock was (or for some, at least not bad), and I laugh that HHH is injured again while guys around a lot longer than him, including Flair (in his late 50's), are showing him up health and workrate-wise.
  19. How is this any more credible of an instance now than any other time this same rumor came up? Because it's Meltz?
  20. "Some Dreamcast game..." That flippant ignorance and writing off...argh... Power Stone kicks ass. However, since I have both games I think it's pointless to get some inferior knockoff with duller moves, lame characters, and shitty music from ICP likely stuffed into it. I doubt fights will start on a flying ship, transition from that to a fight in the air, then from there on top of a sub, ending on an iceberg. You can climb into huge gun turrets and blast your opponents with the cannons, throw crates, slash with swords, blast with guns--then of course there are the supers... The two games are actually vastly different, with 2 being a bit more simplistic, more multiplayer oriented, with the huge fighting areas with multiple sections you move through. 1 is more traditional, taking place in closed rooms for the most part, or basically on single screens. They're tied together due to the necessity to collect the "power stones" to get more powerful and do super moves. Powerstone Power Stone 2 Of course, there are also the high scores I've seen magazines giving out. An original fighter? *Gasp...* The second one is admittedly more in the vein of Smash Bros., but hey, also a good game.
  21. I didn't quote or I would have. Besides, I added the Majin Buu part because normally you don't assimilate abilities that way.
  22. Yeah, apparently Taker also ate Ultimo and absorbed his abilities like Majin Buu because he was doing lucha moves like the Magistrahl Crade, headscissors, etc.
  23. The "American Badass" sucked. He was still "eh" in 2000 when he came back. It was only mid-2001 that he was starting to change up his style and get better. I fucking loathe that gimmick. Plus, he had a couple huge stinkers in 2002 on PPV from what I remember, but lately he's been terrific.
  24. Is next month really Vince/Taker... *shrieks to tune of "Stayin' Alive"* ...AHHH AHHHH AHHHH AHHHH---BURIED ALIVE!! BURIED ALIVE!!
  25. Thanks for the update. Back to the match though, this is one of the better "Something On a Pole" matches that I've ever seen, I'm really into this one. Pfffft...better than Tenta/Bossman? You so crazy.
