I wonder when whatever production company is in charge of this thing decides to cut their losses and hand the project to Boll. At least it'll get made. Hell, Alone in the Dark got made when the new game that was supposed to be released beside it ended up in a developmental hell it still hasn't escaped from.

Considering the high cost of the system and the fact that you need to BUY AN ACCESSORY TO USE OLD MEMORY CARDS ON IT (but thanks for the other ports on the 60 gig, Sony. That's really useful), it shouldn't be surprising Sony is nickle and diming as much as they can over the system. Of course, each of the companies is doing that to some extent.

I already totally called it, despite being a year off. So I'm not at all surprised. I just really wish I was wrong.

In future VC disappointment news, VC ratings have popped up on the ESRB site for the SNES' versions of Street Fighter 2 Turbo and Final Fight. Of course, there are much better, more recent versions of Street Fighter 2 available. Plus the GBA has a solid version of Final Fight already. But if you want a lame, watered down Final Fight with a missing stage, missing playable character, and no 2 player mode for nostalgia's sake, you should be satisfied. Or you could just pick up Capcom Classics Collection, which has the arcade version of Final Fight plus the arcade version of Street Fighter Turbo. And/or Street Fighter Anniversary Collection, which has SF3 Third Strike and Hyper SF2.

That rumor is months old, but a few game rags with no credibility are claiming exclusives on the news/announcement. But who can really get excited over a Sega-developed--especially a Sonic Team--game these days, anyway? One of the news items that has arisen over it is Yuji Naka saying that "if it's being made, I'm not involved in it." Considering he's not a part of Sonic Team at all and is forming his own offshoot company, well, *of course*.

C) A lot of systems were headed to Ebay so no one was buying games. D) There weren't any games really worth a damn except for Resistance, while the Britain launch recieved a more rebust lineup. While you make a good point about the "region free" aspect....it doesn't really make much sense, still. First, imagine you're a Brit with the money to spend on a PS3 and that you care about region free gaming. Let's see....you could import a region-free PS3 from the United States or Japan, where they have plenty. Heck, importing a US one would give you access to PS2 games you couldn't play on your Europe PS2 anyway. Total cost is going to be about 300 GBP + applicable taxes and shipping. Or, even *less* if you settle for the 20 GB model. Or you could wait...and wait...and wait...and buy a Europe PS3 for 425 GBP, which pretty much plays no PS2 games on it at all. Oh Great Britain, you're finally becoming crafty consumers!
