  1. Show of hands: who thought this game would turn into a defensive struggle and be 6-0 at the 2 minute warning?
  2. Ok, how the hell was that play not a PI penalty? He rode the guy to the ground. I mean, it's nice the refs are letting them play, but you gotta call the obvious ones.
  3. Unless you are on the team or part of the organization..no.
  4. Just bumping this up to point out that the weather in Foxboro might NOT be the non-factor people think it will, since we're going to get a bit of snow up here starting about gametime. This might be not good news for Indy, since they didn't practice outside once this week, like I pointed out earlier, so the field in Foxboro won't be even close to the field they practised on, and with the emphasis on timing with the Colts offense, one slip could make a huge difference.
  5. NO YOU ARE. Doodyhead. I'm changing your name to "Paul Hackett's Illegitimate Son"
  6. Well, yeah. Down early, would YOU want to give the ball to Kevin Faulk? He's mainly in there to catch passes out of the backfield for a REASON. Corey Dillon has a much better chance of breaking the big run than Faulk can ever dream to. I'd say putting up 20 on a D that's essentially shut your run completely down isn't half bad. It's better than the Eagles did, anyway.
  7. Teams abandon the run much too early against them?
  8. Hmm, looks like snow tomorrow in Foxboro....
  9. He's not very confident in Cowher's postseason coaching abilities, is he? He's right though; the Steelers aren't facing a team with a shitty offensive co-ordinator NEXT week, so they will have to take it to them right off.
  10. You can't really tell with these guys. One week Vick goes nuts on the ground and doesn't make mistakes, the other he's 5/23, 2 INTs and 2 fumbles. For the Falcons to win, their D and special teams (and Warrick Dunn) has to carry them. And ESPN is in full Vickjob mode right now.
  11. Man, I had forgotten how absolutely horrible the Rams defense was. At least the dream of an 8-8 NFC title game is now dead, thank God. Hopefully tomorrow's games aren't the clunkers today's was.
  12. Chat on AIM at "tsmplayoffs"
  13. Neither team wants to win this thing. the Jets' playcalling on offense has been awful. Swing pass on 3rd down?
  14. Ben suddenly was invaded by the Spirit of Kordell there.
  15. Third down, in FG range, almost at the 2 minute warning, and the Jets THROW? Paul Hackett, that's all you have to say.
  16. I got mine for Christmas 2001 and it's still chugging along. All I have to do is occasionally clean the lens. I don't think they even make the bigger systems anymore, so all you can probably get are the new thin ones.
  17. They should probably start giving the ball more to Bettis in the second half, since Ben's just crapping the bed right now. And where's Duce?
  18. No, it's not that Benoit and Jericho are on RAW, it's that RAW doesn't submarine the second half of their show with Bischoff saying "Oh no, someone kidnapped Christy!!!" "Did you do it, HHH?" *Commercial* "Did YOU do it, Batista?" *Commercial* "I swear HHH, if you did it, you'll be in SO much trouble!!!"
  19. I'm REALLY interested in what Taker thinks makes SD the better show. I think a point in broadcast ratings = 1 million viewers while 1 point in cable = 800,000 or so.
  20. Wow, talk about the ultimate hypothetical. I would guess that 16 ties would be the equivalent of an 8-8 record?
  21. If the NFC title game ends up being a battle of 8-8 teams (which there is a chance it will be), you won't be the only one imploding.
  22. With Mathis all but out now, I guess we all can agree that Dwight Freeney's going to be the best chance for the Colts' D-line to get any pressure on the QB, right? Well, I was curious and decided to look up his stats this season, seeing how he fares outside the RCA Dome, since many people say he's slowed down on natural grass. Luckily, NFL.com did all the work for me: http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/313800/splits/2004 It's really interesting to see that, of his league leading 16 sacks, only THREE came in an honest-to-goodness outdoor stadium (he had 3 at Reliant Stadium, which has a retractable dome, but has natural grass, so it's up to you if you want to add it to the outdoor stadiums. And Houston was 2nd in sacks allowed, so EVERYONE hits Carr.) One sack was at Gillette in the opener, one in Tennessee, and one in Chicago, while he had TEN sacks at home. And of his four forced fumbles, only one came outdoors (at Chicago), while he had two at home and one in Detroit. I don't know if this will make a hell of a lot of difference Sunday, but I thought it was interesting nonetheless.
  23. Well....until the title game, that is, since the Eagles let their opponents have a turn.
  24. I hear that the Colts did not practice ONCE outside this week, because "the field was too wet." Call me crazy, but if you're going to a place that won't have the greatest field come Sunday, wouldn't you WANT to practice under the same conditions? At least for a day? Have the receivers and QBs work on their timing patterns at least, since if they are even off by a second, it's all screwed up. But they at least left the door to their practice field open so that it could get a little chilly in there.
  25. What happened to Wolfgang Puck? I thought he was one of the original American Iron Chefs?
