I'm plugging a nearly two month old article in mine. Shows you how much I care about sigs. I think I haven't changed the banner in a year too. Turn em' off, you won't miss them.

For one, you can't use custon stadium music (I don't think you can rip tracks onto the PS2 HDD). You can use the music the game provides, but it isn't much to write home about (although you can buy more soundtracks in the Crib, which I haven't yet), and if you don't have a HDD, you'll only see stills of the plays in the halftime and postgame shows, instead of full motion clips. I do agree that seeing plays from the other games on SC is pretty badass. I just finished my first tie ever in video football history, 10-10 against Miami. I'm getting the hang of the controls, and I've found that if you let the CPU drop back for you, your passes seem to be more accurate (but that may be just me). I'm most likely going to do a pretty comprehensive review next week, but I don't play online, so either I omit it, or I could add someone else's thoughts into it. So if you want, PM me a paragraph or two talking about the online experience (lag, ease of setting up, online leagues), and you'll get full credit.

So when the hell are we getting word on Ortiz's suspension? We're five days removed already, and nothing. I guess we'll hear about it today or tomorrow, and with the appeals process, I guess he'll be able to play at least one (or maybe two) games in the Yankees series.

I'm also having a bit of trouble with pass defense. I guess it's all about timing your jump/tip so you don't completely miss the ball. I forgot to mention this, but here's the moment I was completely sold: I'm playing the Giants in preseason and I'm on the 20. I get the snap and roll out to the right, looking for a receiver and see Daniel Graham as the best choice. I loft a pass to the end zone, and Graham turns towards the ball and jogs backwards a little, looking it into his hands for a touchdown. They show the replay with SkyCam, and I swear it looked exactly like something you'd actually see in a real game. Incredible.

well circle changed them in madden too, just the opposite direction I meant during a play. Circle in Madden is the speed burst/tackle button, and I spent half of my first game jamming on it and wondering why I'm controlling the guy on the other side of the field that isn't even in the play. I'm learning though, I'm learning. The SportsCenter wrapup after each week is great, as well. I'm probably not going to use the Weekly Preparation feature until my second season when I'll be pretty comfortable with the game. This is a steal for just $20.

I got mine at EB, but I noticed at FYE that you can get a $5 mail-in rebate when you buy the game. Something to check out. I really have to get used to using the Circle button to change players instead of X (like in Madden). I LOVE the presentation though; it might be the best of any sports game.

Alonzo and John are going to have to majorly bomb to not make it to the finals. Corey just punched his ticket out of there.

They also need to drop the "comics pitch a sitcom" game for the automatic spot in the finals. It was clear that none of them were really good at it, and the focus group hated all of them.

I've seen the Pats favored as much as 9-5 on some odds sheets. I'd also take a chance with Carolina. They really didn't lose anyone major in the offseason, and the teams in their division didn't improve all that much from what I can see.

I don't see him "talking down" to people. The guy just holds the opinion that people should not take personal shots at others based on something they read in a gossip column or some pic they see on the 'net. That's a pretty valid opinion, and he's defending it.

Yeah, I called yesterday and the guy said Wednesday also. KB Toy Works says they're getting it August 1st. No wonder they only have like two stores left around here.

Is this for this coming season's Superbowl, or next season? This year's is 39, not 40, in case that's what the ? is for.

After Zambrano decided to be a dumbass and plunk Edmonds again, I actively rooted for the Cubs to lose that game. You gave up the homer; try and get the next guy out, don't get all pissy like that.

I just saw on ESPN that the Mets traded Karim Garcia to the O's for Mike DeJean. And the Orioles will be at Fenway Wednesday. Keep him out of the bullpens.

Another Yankees-Red Sox series this weekend, so I guess bumping the Sox-Yanks thread is in order. My brother actually had tickets for Friday's game, but Boston will be in Convention Mode by that time and all the road closings and super security will be in effect, so it just isn't worth the hassle (especially since my brother still isn't quite ready to use the T again, due to his health problems).

Outside of the sweep of Oakland last week, when was the last time the Sox actually WON a series? It seems like they are either splitting it, or losing 2 out of 3.
