the Oklahoma State/Texas Tech game is now 48-42 Cowboys with 9 minutes left BJ Symons has 478 yards and 4 TD passes in the game, he's 37 for 59. Symons now has 31 touchdown passes and 3432 yards this year. Tech has 5 games after this.. I really like Symons shot at Detmer's yards in a season record (5100 yards) and Klingler's TD record (54)

Who will win the Big 12 North this year?
Rob E Dangerously replied to Rob E Dangerously's topic in Sports
That 62-36 whupping put on Nebraska was a thing of beauty -
Lets look at the standings in conference for the North so far Colorado: 1-1 (beat Kansas, lost to Baylor) Kansas: 1-1 (beat Missouri, lost to Colorado) Missouri: 1-1 (beat Nebraska, lost to Kansas) Nebraska: 1-1 (beat Oklahoma State, lost to Missouri) Kansas State: 0-2 (lost to Texas and Oklahoma State) Iowa State: 0-2 (lost to Oklahoma and Texas Tech) Anybody (except for the Cyclones) can win the North. This week.. here are my predictions.. feel free to dispute them Oklahoma by 24 over Missouri. The point spread is 26 1/2 for OU, which is a bit too high. Kansas murders Baylor. Kansas State has a close one with Colorado. Colorado gives KSU problems. Colorado also isn't that great but KSU has problems with defense. I hear that Colorado's defense is bad too. But, from now on.. my projections indictate that Nebraska will win the North but will finish with the same conference record as KSU. K-State has a shot to win five games. They will beat Iowa State and Baylor. They can beat Colorado. They better beat Kansas and they will have a big one with Missouri. I see Nebraska beating K-State. Nebraska is going to have a tough one with Texas, but something tells me Nebraska will lose to Colorado too. But, this is Nebraska. Nothing really tells me that they are going to finish so well this year. They might melt down. Missouri will probably beat Colorado and ISU. Brad Smith is a good QB. Oklahoma will pound MU, KSU will beat MU too. The fourth loss for MU will surprise you but.. Texas Tech will beat Missouri. BJ Symons and Tech's offense is just as high-powered as the offense of Kansas and Bill Whittemore, who beat MU. BJ's stats are incredible 297 yards, 3 TDs (v. SMU) 418 yards, 5 TDs (v. New Mexico) 586 yards, 2 TDs (v. NCSU) 661 yards, 6 TDs (v. Ol Miss) 505 yards, 8 TDs (v. A&M) 487 yards, 3 TDs (v. ISU) 27 TDs in 6 games I just sense that even with the game in Columbia, Symons will demolish the MU defense. But.. I should note that OU is a huge favorite to win the division in the title game when it's held in KC. The Big 12 North is wide open.

Any predictions on the Chiefs/Raiders MNF game? Hopefully the Chiefs are able to beat up on Oakland

First piece of news http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2003/10/...5601908135.html and this site mentions reports of Arafat's death (but it's in French) http://www.guysen.com/news.php "A noise runs in the newspaper offices (Newsflash?): ARAFAT HAS DIED!!!! News to be taken with (as?) conditional...." "The news is contradictory concerning the state of Arafat, but our sources seem formal. News to be always taken with the conditionel..." "Arafat according to our advisors would be deceased following a cardiac faintness. News to take with the conditionel a hoax or an attempt at misinformation are not to exclude." So.. has Arafat finally died? If he died, you think that the PLO would make up bullshit to make him look better?

The Chargers stopped Dante in game 1 of the year. So, I don't think that will work. I hope the Chargers don't beat KC

I'm not sure why Cross has a job or anything. I like the Chiefs chances from now to their bye week @ Green Bay [Are they good this week, or bad? losing to Arizona, beating Seattle] @ Oakland [The Raiders are dead, they'll get a Monday-night funeral] Buffalo (at home) [Chiefs won't lose at home this year, especially not against Buffalo, who took Cincy into overtime]

BTW.. who else thinks that Randy Cross is biased against Kansas City? But.. in good news.. Randy's going to have to find another team to kiss-up to. He didn't believe when it was 2-0, or 3-0, or 4-0, and probably not now either. "This will be the last Chiefs game for awhile for Cross and Harlan. The following week they’ll be in Cleveland for the Raiders-Browns game. By the way, the Chiefs’ game at Lambeau Field the following week will draw CBS’ No. 2 crew of Dick Enberg and Dan Dierdorf" At least Kevin Harlan, who only did the Chiefs games on the radio from 1985 to 1993, can be a bit unbiased. Cross sucks up to Rod Smith and Jake Plummer, and noted that since Chiefs fans were getting stuff or in the bathroom, that Denver wouldn't face so much noise. Then they showed the crowd, where one small section was gone. Fast forward to November Randy Cross on 12-0 starts - "Seasons aren't won in September, October and November, the Chargers won that title alot, I don't think they're the best"

Barry Bonds will be the next to hit 700, that can't be denied. But, I don't think he will reach 755. I just have an instinct that says he can't hit like this forever and eventually his numbers will have to go down. After doing some research, if his HR numbers went down, then people may not notice. He does have a HR in every 8.7 ABs. Ruth never came close to a HR in every 7 or 8 AB for 3 straight years. Bonds has done that and it's baffling. Bonds is a different hitter than about every slugger out there. Bonds knows the strikezone. Sammy Sosa, who is also a good power hitter, strikes out more and walks less because Sosa is more prone to swing at pitches. Bonds will wait if he has to because most pitchers don't know how to get him out, so they throw crap and put him on base every other PA. (I saw Bonds strike out twice in KC, once by Chris George, the owner of a 7.11 ERA and 9 wins, and by Mike MacDougal, who got Bonds to foul off two pitches and then struck him out) My personal thoughts on all this aren't changing since April. In April, I realized that Sammy Sosa is on a great pace for greatness. Back then, he had 500 HRs and he was only 34. I checked Baseball Almanac and only two men were younger than Sammy when they hit 500. Jimmie Foxx and Willie Mays. Ruth and Aaron were also 34 when they hit #500. Now, I am aware that there is a good shot that Sosa's numbers will fall as he gets older. Sammy will be 35 in November. But, Sammy hit 40 HRs this year even if he had three things go wrong. (a) the beaning that shattered his helmet, (b) the toenail dealie, which I think was ingrown, and © the corked bat. Now, I will not get into the bat thing, it's bizarre about how it all happened. Now, you have learned a fact. Sosa has more HRs at the age of 35 than Babe Ruth had. (Sosa also had more home runs at the ages of 30, 31, 32, 33 and 34 than Ruth. Which goes from 1925 to 1929 for Ruth and 1999 to 2002 for Sosa. Although, to be fair, Aaron had more HRs than both guys until the age of 32. That was after 2001 for Sosa and 1966 for Aaron) I will admit this, that compared to Jimmie Foxx, alot of sluggers look like slackers. Foxx had 500 home runs at 32 years old but his numbers fell big time and he retired with 534 home runs. Foxx did hit 58 home runs in 1932, not bad for a player who was 24 at the time. So.. will Bonds hit #756? will Sosa come close to hitting 650? Is it still too early to ask "Will A-Rod hit 700"? Why did Jimmie Foxx stop hitting home runs after 1940? Any other thoughts?

Meanwhile in other news Tom Gamboa was fired by the Royals. Then again, he was the bullpen coach and the Royals bullpen ERA was the worst in baseball

Sox.. Bring back Terry Bevington!

Carlos Lee is too high of a price to pay for an overrated, has-been manager whose specialty is micromanaging his way into one playoff failure after another. I was going to suggest Magglio for TLR hahaha.. so, should KC fans want LaRussa in Chicago?
-
Any ideas on where these guys will be going? Manuel might get another job as a coach. Hargrove.. maybe not Also.. I hear LaRussa is the guy that Chicago wants. The White Sox would have to compensate the Cardinals for LaRussa, right? (like Winn for Piniella) How about Carlos Lee to the Cardinals for TLR (moving Pujols to First Base)? I know the Cardinals are looking to cutdown on salaries (Tino is gone after this year) I hear Eddie Murray is the next manager in Baltimore. Which is good if you like the idea of what Trammell has done in Detroit. What happened to Cito Gaston?
